@Shitfuckoh

Well DS2 is fine this morning. I got a call mid school run letting me know he was on his way back. Apparently there's a positive case in his bubble so he needs to isolate Confused His school already fully closed & only reopened after half term!
Please he's feeling better. Such a shame about having to isolate though! It definitely seems to feel like there are more cases in educational settings at the moment!

One of our neighbours has tested positive after looking after their grandchildren who were also positive but didn't show any symptoms and were only tested to see if they'd passed it to the grandparents. It's really worried me as DS is looked after by grandparents two days a week and I would hate to think they would become ill as a result.

Shitfuckoh · 17/11/2020 20:40

@PickAChew
Fantastic news! Aw, bet you were out the house as soon as you received that news Grin

@Someaddedsugar
Yeah it's defo a difficult time for everyone regarding nurserys/schools. It's my 2nd lot of isolating with the DC now. The good thing about when his school fully closed last time was we could still get out, as he wasn't a close contact.

They haven't said but he told me Monday that his teacher wasn't in as she was poorly. The positive case was ''a member of staff''. Just makes you wonder how many children are either showing no symptoms or showing different symptoms to the adult ones, yet still going to school etc.
Bubbles popping all over the place here.

PickAChew · 17/11/2020 21:06

Not had chance to get out as the email came through just before I started cooking tea but I'm going for a bloody long walk, tomorrow, once sainsburys have been!

IggyAce · 18/11/2020 19:30

Well it’s now my turn to self isolate, the bubble I’m lunch supervisor for closed today. I’m going to make the Christmas cake tomorrow. I’m really going to miss my daily walk.

PickAChew · 18/11/2020 21:23

I made mine, today, @iggyace. After a blustery but much relished walk to the arnison centre and back! (not appreciating the lack of loos, though. I can't get back through the front door fast enough!)

NoseringGirl · 18/11/2020 22:51

My eldest son's isolation finishes tomorrow. We also made our Christmas cake to pass the time and I also managed to give birth to my now youngest son as well Grin certainly kept the elder two entertained while they've been stuck in the house!

PickAChew · 18/11/2020 23:03

Well, congratulations, @noseringGirl!🎉

IggyAce · 19/11/2020 06:04

Congratulations @NoseringGirl.

Shitfuckoh · 19/11/2020 09:14

Congratulations @NoseringGirl

TheSilveryPussycat · 19/11/2020 11:43

Congratulations from me as well BrewBrew

MissEWeatherwax · 19/11/2020 12:45

Congratulations NoseringGirl.
PickAChew pleased about negative result.
Are the toilets in Sainsbury’s at Arnison centre not open? I haven’t been since new lockdown.

PickAChew · 19/11/2020 13:26

I haven't been in sainsburys, either, @MissEWeatherwax but the top floor of markses is shut!

MissEWeatherwax · 19/11/2020 13:34

That’s ridiculous, toilets are essential. I don’t agree with M&S upstairs being shut.

PickAChew · 19/11/2020 14:19

I know. They've brought the kids wear and undies downstairs, so you might as well go upstairs for it.

Someaddedsugar · 19/11/2020 15:10

@NoseringGirl congratulations!!!

Someaddedsugar · 20/11/2020 10:15

The toilets in Sainsbury's are open for anyone heading to the Arnison Centre.

PickAChew · 20/11/2020 13:26

I ended up in there this morning because the markses queue was completely disproportionate to what I needed!

Gilead · 20/11/2020 14:42

Thank you, Someaddedsugar! Vital information for me as I have Ulcerative Colitis!

MissEWeatherwax · 20/11/2020 16:04

Pleased that Sainsbury’s toilets open. I can’t face going back to queuing, not in the cold and rain. I had to queue for chemist the other day for a repeat prescription. 10 minutes in the cold and dark.
The weather is so depressing, I am forgetting what the sun looks like.

Shitfuckoh · 20/11/2020 17:00

Seems like so long ago since I was anywhere near a store with queues.

The last time I saw one was at the Arnison centre back in August but even then it was only Nike & Wilko. I think Mcdonalds had a queue outside too!

Is it pretty bad for queues everywhere at the moment then? What a depressing thought & thing to have to do, in this weather.

TheSilveryPussycat · 20/11/2020 17:31

I suppose closing M&S upstairs saves cleaning and makes it easier to weather staff being off for lockdown rules.
Does anyone know whether the Potterhouse tip has queues at the moment?

MissEWeatherwax · 20/11/2020 18:30

Is there ever no McDonald’s queue? No ones been complaining on the local Facebook page, so I don’t think the queue for Potterhouse tip is bad, never see any cars leaving. I would chance it, but not at weekend.
Our County Durham figures don’t look that bad, but I can see them putting us in tier 3.
But I am a realist and depressed.

Someaddedsugar · 20/11/2020 18:43

@TheSilveryPussycat if you go first thing the tip's pretty quiet but it does get busy around lunchtime.

There were no queues anywhere this morning but people manning all doors of the shops that are open so I imagine there could have been a queue later on (I went at 8.30 and left at 9.15).

There was a queue at the Fram Greggs though Grin

If anyone's local to Witton Gilbert another piece of animal wall art has appeared after the appearance of the white tiger in Sacriston. This time it's a butterfly on the end of the terraces next to the Glendenning Arms pub.

MissEWeatherwax · 20/11/2020 19:11

@Someaddedsugar, he has got his own Facebook page now. He’s got another wall lined up, the wall owner is canvassing for ideas of image.
