Just seeing if anybody would go along with it.

There are situations where I wear one in my home (tradespeople here & if elderly/vulnerable people were to visit)

But mandatory in every home - not even this shit show us likely to attempt that! 🤣

Rushjob · 10/10/2020 13:29

We’ve had this suggestion on here before and people have said they would agree. 🙄

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 10/10/2020 13:29

NO.

Although hearing today that it is muted we should wear masks outside, they can fuck
Off with that too.

I wear the wretched things in shops and cafes and outside to sit somewhere. I am not walking around in one and I will go
to court to say so. We have no idea If it’s safe to wear soggy bits of cloths every time we inhale and what it does to our lungs. Moronic suggestions

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 13:30

Last year nobody thought masks would be mandatory indoors or on public transport or that seeing family would be forbidden. Things can change very quickly.

Don't be ridiculous!!!!!

CKL987 · 10/10/2020 13:31

Not at home with my husband, but if I have guests I would, although I think that is what we are already advised to do with guests if we can't be 2m apart.

userxx · 10/10/2020 13:31

🤣🤣🤣 no fucking chance.

MaxNormal · 10/10/2020 13:31

Mind you I've seen plenty of one-occupant cars, driver merrily masked up so maybe they'd enjoy it?

loulouljh · 10/10/2020 13:32

And I won't be wearing one outside generally either!!! I go outside to do nice things like walk my dog and I will certainly not ever be doing that in a mask. Ever.

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 13:32

loulouljh - can you explain why it’s ridiculous? It’s a real idea. Look at my links!

@Funkypolar

As I’m pregnant and vulnerable I asked DH to wear a face mask at home. He just looked at me. Hmm

Sent him off to buy McDonald’s instead.

Really? You wanted him to wear a mask at home? Is that why you asked the question?

I'm with your DH if so. I'd have looked askance at you and gone of shaking my head and muttering too. No way.

I am vulnerable too for several reasons, though not pregnant. I don't ask DH or the DDs to wear masks in our house. I'm not prepared to do it myself either.

🤣

Belladonna12 · 10/10/2020 13:36

I would wear a mask if someone in the house had tested positive although I would only wear it in communal areas.

Topseyt · 10/10/2020 13:37

Did you ask him to wear his mask while you were TTC? 🤣

OutOntheTilez · 10/10/2020 13:46

Nope.

amusedtodeath1 · 10/10/2020 13:47

That's what the tabloids do though OP, they are ridiculous. No one in their right mind would try to make it compulsory.

What you do in your own home though is up to you. I don't know how vulnerable you are and I understand your anxiety, but making it compulsory is laughable.

wanderings · 10/10/2020 13:47

We don't want this idea circulating, even if some scientist bribed by Saint Boris, at the taxpayer's expense has mooted it.

YABU to spread the idea: we don't want more of this batshit being normalised.

toffeekiwi · 10/10/2020 13:47

I have followed every single rule and guideline to the letter so far but I will not wear a mask in my own home. We have no visitors coming to our home and I am told that I am not allowed to wear a mask at work whether I want to or not so 'they' could fuck off with trying to tell me to wear one at home if they felt so inclined.

Katjolo · 10/10/2020 13:47

Batshit 😂

loulouljh · 10/10/2020 13:47

Why is it ridiculous??!!!! EERRRR where do I start!!!!!! Who on earth would agree to this as a starting point (some eejits on here would of course). When sitting with my family why on earth would I have my face covered? I want to see their faces, interact with them!!!!

How would it be enforced? Ever? Exactly. You, could not.

The Government would be even more of a laughing stock than they are currently for suggesting this (which they won't). It is nonsense.

Holothane · 10/10/2020 13:48

At home fuck that no way not at home.

S111n20 · 10/10/2020 13:49

Absolutely no way.

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 13:50

I kind of want it to happen just to see if it would finally cause some mass disobedience and rebellion.

But I really think most people would go along with it and some Mumsnetters would be knocking on your windows telling you to put a mask on.

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 13:51

And it’s a shame people can’t detect my sarcasm, of course I didn’t tell DH to wear a mask!
