Just seeing if anybody would go along with it.

i did buy a blow up bed for me/dh to use if the other was positive, but i gave it to dd and she now has it, and i now feel you can have it without being sure, ie, a sore throat/headache/aches and pains

maddiemookins16mum · 10/10/2020 12:48

Of course not, silly question.

Willow2017 · 10/10/2020 12:48

Don't be ridiculous!

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 12:48

If it became mandatory I can imagine a few Mumsnetters peering into their neighbours homes and phoning 999 because they aren’t wearing a mask.

No of course not. The only time I’ve done so is when I’ve had a workman in the property, so only when I was speaking to him.

rosiethehen · 10/10/2020 12:50

Er, no, definitely not.

If someone in the household had coronavirus, I'd tell them to wear one if outside their room for whatever reason, but that's all. They're supposed to remain confined anyway.

bananaskinsnomnom · 10/10/2020 12:51

No. I live alone.....I would just have to kee the curtains shut Grin

In answer to the question from someone previously I would actually quite happily wear a zebra onesie to work - nice and comfy and saves my own clothes Smile I wore a a pig one to World Book Day so I can live with zebra.....

Heartofstrings · 10/10/2020 12:51

@DilysPrice onsie? Yes. Orange nail varnish...YES

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 10/10/2020 12:52

Is there some sort of competition for who can come up with the most ridiculous coronavirus related thread?

JM10 · 10/10/2020 12:52

No way

whatswithtodaytoday · 10/10/2020 12:53

No of course not, and no-one is suggesting this.

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 12:53

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords Et al - if you don’t like stupid threads you don’t need to waste time reading and commenting. That’s my top tip to get some extra time saving minutes back in your day. 👍🏻

Nope.

MimosaFields · 10/10/2020 12:53

I wear one when the cleaner is here. Any other time it would be ridiculous as I live alone!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 10/10/2020 12:55

It's a No from me.

I have no doubt that there are already people doing exactly that - even those who live alone - and if that helps with anxiety and makes them feel more reassured, then absolutely - go right ahead if you choose to do so.

Just don't try to force me into doing something completely non-sensical and of no scientific benefit, just to virtue signal and symbolically flagellate myself. For me, it's like avoiding cracks in the pavement, touching wood or throwing salt over your shoulder for getting good/avoiding bad luck. Entirely your choice to do so; entirely my choice not to.

ArnieLinson · 10/10/2020 12:55

Who the fuck not only shares a toothbrush with their partner, but thinks that is so normal that ‘often’ others do to?

Op, that Comment alone has shown us al i need to know about you.

GabsAlot · 10/10/2020 12:56

who said that-of course i wouldnt

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 10/10/2020 12:56

Fuck no.

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 12:57

Actually some people are suggesting it - such as the BMJ link above.

“Wearing face masks at home might help ward off the spread of COVID-19 infection among family members living in the same household, but only before symptoms develop, suggests a study of Chinese families in Beijing, accepted for publication in BMJ Global Health.”

www.newsweek.com/wearing-covid-masks-home-dr-birx-says-you-should-under-these-circumstances-1522473?amp=1

"But more importantly, if you're in multigenerational households and there's an outbreak in your rural area or in your city, you need to really consider wearing a mask at home.”

Ginfordinner · 10/10/2020 12:58

No. Wearing a face mask always makes my nose run, so I have to periodically remove it to blow my nose.

I have also never found one that doesn't steam up my glasses.

Timekeepspassing · 10/10/2020 13:00

No. It is difficult enough wearing one in indoor public places with a baby and I’m actually dreading this latest rumour that we will have to wear them outside. He doesn’t really like them and tries to pull it off. Plus he needs to see my full face for his speech development. I try not to go to places where I need one with him unless I have to or it is for a short bit of time (getting to your table or for a health appointment). If we have to wear them outside the house you are basically trapping us inside for the winter.

movingonup20 · 10/10/2020 13:00

No, why on earth??? There's only two if s and anything I've got he has and vice versaGrin. We even both caught Covid 3 days apart! If you live with a vulnerable person then you as a family can decide the best course of action

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 13:00

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8624033/amp/Wisconsin-government-agency-orders-employees-wear-masks-Zoom-calls-HOME.html

“A Wisconsin government agency has told its employees to wear masks during Zoom calls - even if they are at home.

The Department of Natural Resources wants its workers to 'set a safety example' which 'shows you care about the safety and health of others', according to the Journal-Sentinel in Madison.”

Rememberallball · 10/10/2020 13:01

Definitely not - but then DH works from home, I don’t go out unless absolutely necessary (not even to the shops) and DTs are only a year old so don’t leave the house alone) so we don’t come into contact with anyone with the virus!!

PicsInRed · 10/10/2020 13:03

I would be quite willingly arrested if that was "required". I'll resist wearing one "at all times" outside also - this is something which has been suggested.

We shouldn't blindly accept things simply because they are made "law".
