Just seeing if anybody would go along with it.

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 10/10/2020 20:28

My house my face my rules!
(unless I'm outside in a shop or whatever I'm not wearing it my own bloody house!)

I presume people were actually paid to come up with this crap.

Bargebill19 · 10/10/2020 20:31

No.

CaptainMyCaptain · 10/10/2020 20:32

@PinkSparklyPussyCat

That would be the most ridiculous idea they have come up with yet! How on earth would they police it? Surely no one with any common sense would allow the government to tell them what they wear in their own home!
I don't think 'they' have come up with it. It seems to be the OP's idea.
Treesofwood · 10/10/2020 20:36

Picinred I would have loved to see the conservation "back stage" afterwards.

WanderingMilly · 10/10/2020 20:37

Of course not.
I live alone and there's no-one in my home, why would I wear a mask??!!
And even if I were living with someone, I still wouldn't wear a mask in my own home. They couldn't police it and there would be absolutely no point anyway....

WishMyNameWasWittyNotShitty · 10/10/2020 20:39

Not a chance, it's sad that my children can't see me smile when I collect them, my eldest's teacher has only ever seen my eyes, and 4 weeks into term she doesn't recognise me when I collect my child.

I'm also struggling with the potential that we may have to wear one in an office were we are 2m apart at all times and have had 1 positive since March with no others since then, it will make a working day uncomfortable (I appreciate people do and have to wear them for certain workplaces, but I still don't relish the thought!)

WishMyNameWasWittyNotShitty · 10/10/2020 20:40

Meant to add after mentioning about my children, I don't want to hide my face from them at home either!

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 20:42

It’s strange that people can’t have an opinion or think differently without being insulted. I disagree with many of you but I don’t feel the need to personally attack you.

OP posts:
knittingaddict · 10/10/2020 20:43

@Funkypolar

knittingaddict - why the need for personal insults?
I said that your post was ridiculous, as have many others on here. No need to pick on me.

I also said that you sound like a twit. You may or may not be one, but these sort of threads don't make for rational or intelligent debate. They are just click bait.

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 20:44

madcatladyforever - you took time to respond to my “absurd” post. You can read it and roll your eyes and move on without telling me to “grow up.” I’m already 5’7, I don’t want to get any taller!

OP posts:
Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 20:45

knittingaddict - so I think you sound like a twit, which one of us is right?

#confused

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 10/10/2020 20:49

But how would I get his penis in my mouth??

Seriously!g though, no.

Shamrocksunshine · 10/10/2020 20:54

OP are you okay?

knittingaddict · 10/10/2020 20:57

Actually I'm happy to take back the twit comment because I don't want to sink to that level.

However I think that your post was offensive. It's basically saying " is there nothing that you sheep won't do to toe the line with this pandemic?" The question you ask is utterly meaningless because you're just trying to make people on the other side of this great divide look stupid. Not nice.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 10/10/2020 21:04

In fairness to the OP, I have just been told on another thread that DH and I should consider wearing masks indoors...

iolaus · 10/10/2020 22:12

No, but if they said to wear one when answering the door I would keep one by the door so when getting deliveries they have some extra protection (though as in my case they leave it by the door knock and then go to the bottom of the steps until I take it in I don't think they are at risk)

Ken1976 · 10/10/2020 23:05

My son tested positive last week . His wife has made him sleep downstairs and she and the children are upstairs all the time . If she has to come downstairs to cook or anything she wears a mask and gloves . Even my daughter , who is a nurse , thinks that she's batshit 😂

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 11/10/2020 01:31

I feel the same as you. Our DS's school has just this last week asked all parents to ear masks when dropping off their children and picking them up - still always remaining outdoors in a wide open area. When I first took him, I wished him a good day and went to give him a goodbye kiss as normal, and just felt so downcast.

I think it must be especially difficult for very young children out and about in shops and public areas. I'm so used to glancing at little ones with a smile when I see and hear them laughing and giggling and then I realise that they've just had a stranger look towards them, with no clue whatsoever as to whether their brief acknowledgment was friendly or disapproving.

MadameBlobby · 11/10/2020 01:35

This again?

No. Well actually, if I had a positive Covid test I might to try and stop passing it to them.

MadameBlobby · 11/10/2020 01:38

If you think of it logically, it makes more sense to wear them in households, where there is widespread transmission, than the supermarket, where there isn’t

MiracletoCome · 11/10/2020 05:40

@MadameBlobby

Surely that depends how big your household is, you are not going to get widespread transmission if there are only one or two of you.
Treesofwood · 11/10/2020 08:24

Madameblobby
It makes more sense to wear them at home if you believe

  1. You could always be a silent carrier
  2. They work to reduce transmission

This is even more true if you love those you live with.

If you are wearing them because you have been told you must then obviously you won't want to wear them in the home.

MadameBlobby · 11/10/2020 09:46

Yeah. I was just having a bit of a ponder. I might actually wear one to stop me eating!!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 11/10/2020 09:52

I love DH dearly but no way will I wear a mask at home!

Thankfully we’ve been on the same wavelength throughout so there’s been no disagreements about anything we’ve done
