Would you wear a mask at home if made mandatory?

Just seeing if anybody would go along with it.

If I thought masks worked and that I could be carrying a potentially deadly disease to pass onto those who I love then I would wear one. It would be a pain, but if it could potentially save their lives why wouldn't I?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 11/10/2020 13:40

Because it would be pretty pointless as I’d have to take it off at night and we’d be sharing a bed!

Voolou · 11/10/2020 13:40

No. That would be utterly ridiculous.

Treesofwood · 11/10/2020 13:45

Pinksparkly You could not share a bed. What about if you lived with other family members also. Would you not want to protect them?

@Treesofwood if your young child tested positive would you want them to wear a mask at home to protect the rest of the household?
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 11/10/2020 13:49

In that case I have nowhere to sleep as we only have one bed! You do realise that not everyone has a spare room? So yes, we would be sharing a bed and have already discussed this.

For the reasons mentioned above I don’t live with other family members

Treesofwood · 11/10/2020 13:56

Soutterlygrounddown No, because I don't think home made (reused and unwashed damp) masks used in non clinical settings (Inc the supermarket) make any difference. If I thought they actually worked then I think I would want to protect my family, at least as much as I want to protect strangers.
I also don't believe asymptomatic cases are as high as reported, as many are in fact false positives. I'm also dubious as to how infectious we are in asymptomatic cases. So I would not wear a mask in my home.

I don't understand why people who believe masks work, and get irate with strangers in the supermarket don't wear them at home.

Ah ok, I see your point now. And I agree.
WankPuffins · 11/10/2020 14:47

Utterly ridiculous.

Haha no chance
