At my breaking point now. Don't see light at the end of the tunnel

This is probably not going to sit well with people but I'm honestly at the point where I'm questioning what the fucking point of these virus measures are. All the masks/social distancing/lockdowns haven't worked in eliminating the virus & now apparently as cases rise it's back to lockdown again?

Am I the only one thinking maybe we need a plan B? Rather than being flamed for apparently trying to kill people for questioning it?

My 1 year old has been locked down for half her life. I can't take the kids to see sport or play inside for basically no reason.

My kids are no longer welcome at church because of SD & in case they wander around like kids do so now we have no spiritual guidance & anyone I express concerns to just say it's for the greater good & fuck you. "Suffer the little children" said Jesus except when they need god most I suppose.

We've been following all the fucking rules but now it's well if more people followed the rules this would all be over. But that's just not true is it. There's no magic bullet & a vaccine doesn't cause it all to go away so I guess we'll just stay in our bunkers shouting wear a mask at people until we're all dead.

I'm not sure what the point of this post is, guess I just want to shout into the void but I'm mentally at my breaking point & don't see a future for my children & me.

@Napqueen1234 please speak to your GP or therapist and seek some support.
Medication might just take the edge of how bad you feel.
It’s an unprecedented situation where all living through and it’s ok to ask for help.

One day things will be better and your children need their mother Flowers

Sunshiney1981 · 10/10/2020 10:02

@Napqueen1234
I feel your pain I really do. You are not alone.
That said I was alarmed to read what you plan to do. Please go to your GP and tell her what you’ve told us. If you feel that bad, what have you got to lose?

It amazes me the people coming on here bleating on about resilience. They are those ‘black and white’ thinkers. They have no concept of the human condition and don’t see the grey.
This thread is specifically about people struggling with lack of contact with parents and friends. We are born social creatures. We are not designed to live locked up away from other humans. We are meant to be around our community/families. It’s clearly only easy to do for short periods of time. It’s coming up to 8 months now that parts of the uk have been in lockdown (with a bit of a reprieve in the middle). It’s AWFUL for most people.
I’m not going to go into why I think it’s crazy here. This thread isn’t a debate on restrictions. It’s support for people struggling in lockdown areas.
You’re not alone OP and others x

Thank you all for your support. Sorry to derail OP. It’s so hard isn’t it,”.

Your children need their mother and will also enjoy having fun with their mother. Please do something. It is not OK to be planning to end it all.

Namechanged1122 · 10/10/2020 11:59

@Valleydad99 I agree with everything you've said. I just wish more of us had the same view. Maybe then we could actually try to change things?

Maybe cynical of me but I think restrictions are a great excuse for the government to finally dismantle public services. I keep reading about people paying privately for things like gyms and swimming.

randomer · 10/10/2020 12:10

Think of things you can control/things you can't control.

Right now, its about survival. If you are caring for family, its about their survival.

emmetgirl · 10/10/2020 12:14

I really get this. My daughter is 25 and lives 400 miles from me. I've seen her once for 3 days since last December. There's no way I'm not going up to see her again in the next few weeks. I'll stay with her in her house and we'll probably just stay in. I'll drive there on my own in my car. Try and stop me.

Darker · 10/10/2020 12:24

I hear you. I feel that the government is not being realistic about how long this is going to go on for. We need a proper plan to support people who are at risk of losing everything and to keep basic services going. We need to stop thinking it’s going to be ok by Christmas or whatever.

It could be a massive opportunity - e.g. offering free training for people to fill the skills gaps we know we are facing. E.g. we have a massive mental health crisis so why not offer free courses for mental health work and counselling.

@PurplePansy05

Thank you *@AgentCooper*. Flowers It's not been good. It was bad enough to deal with this grief out of lockdown when it happened before, now it's just the whole new, exacerbated stage of it. Being so isolated with grief for so long with no end in sight makes it a lot worse. This week is BLAW and it's a stark reminder of it as well.
@PurplePansy05 I’m sending you a massive and not at all physically distanced hug Flowers here’s to better, happier days, sweetheart.
MadameBlobby · 10/10/2020 17:05

@Boshmama

This sounds difficult for you, but I don’t understand why you can’t see your family? If your less than 6 and stick to the rules why can’t you see your grandparents or your mum?

Life is pretty much back to normal for lots of people. I have a two year old and she is back at swimming, dance class and forest school. We go to the shops and playground etc as normal but just wear a mask, keep our distance and sanitise hands.

I think it’s not as doom and gloom as perhaps you’re feeling

Lucky you. My husband’s work has been shut down by the government. Again.
Northernsoulgirl45 · 12/10/2020 00:31

Hoor you are op as you have not been back to answer my question re church.
If you are a coupke can you not take turns to attend church to get your spiritual guidance?
