what does this mean when it shows up on the NHS site. I am in the Manchester area.

I am getting exactly the same message. In Nottinghamshire.

Quail15 · 11/09/2020 07:21

Apparently they only update the website a couple of times a day. It shows 'no test site found' if there aren't any available test slots.

I have been re- loading the website every couple of hrs since yesterday lunch time when my dd was sent home from nursery with an obvious cold (that she could only have picked up at nursery as she hasn't been anywhere else in the last 3 weeks). No cough, a very slight temperature ( normal for dd when she has a cold) and buckets of snot.

I keep getting the 'no test site found'. My colleague had the same issue on Monday with his ds. It took him 3 days to get a test slot 🙄. Im hoping it won't take that long for my dd. I'm in the south east.

Snailsetssail · 11/09/2020 07:22

Try backdating your symptoms and saying they started a few days ago.

Tenner · 11/09/2020 07:22

does it mean there aren't tests available? I have kids. I cannot stay at home for every cough and not work for 2 weeks just because we cannot get tested. This is ridiculous. I tried to ring the drive through centre but keep getting kicked out of the too as the queues are so long. This is fucking ridiculous.

@Quail15 when you say refreshing are you just staying on the page and hitting the refresh button or are you going through entering all the details again?

OliviaBenson · 11/09/2020 07:25

Same here!!

Quail15 · 11/09/2020 07:28

@DanceWithYourBalloon I'm putting the details in again ( every single time 😔) it's so frustrating.

mummyof4kids · 11/09/2020 07:30

@Quail15 stay on the page and refresh every minute or so. I did this when I was trying to get a test for my daughter and it worked but took a good 30 mins or so of refreshing

Snailsetssail · 11/09/2020 07:33

It means there isn’t any testing capacity in the labs to deal with the tests.

Your DC school have been issued 10 tests, could you ask them for one of theirs?

PurpleDaisies · 11/09/2020 07:33

Try backdating your symptoms and saying they started a few days ago.

There’s no option for that.

PurpleDaisies · 11/09/2020 07:34

Wait, that just means putting an earlier date in. Ignore me!

Tfoot75 · 11/09/2020 07:35

You just need to keep refreshing, the appointments only come on at certain times of the day. I got mine about 11am for 1pm that day.

Also, there are test centres still accepting walkins (though ours has a massive queue of school age children coughing 🙄) - local Facebook sites may tell you if this is the case.

Tenner · 11/09/2020 07:35

school say they don't have any and to go through the website.

just go back in an hour

ginberry4 · 11/09/2020 07:37

I’m having the same issue in Lincolnshire. Very frustrating. With the weekend approaching will we get a test before our 5 days are up?

DH is a keyworker & his work told him he’d be quicker getting a test via the gov website than via the employer portal. It’s a complete farce.

Quail15 · 11/09/2020 07:38

@mummyof4kids thank you, I will try that now

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 11/09/2020 07:38

Same which is frustrating as I drive past our testing centre every day on the way to work. Fortunately ds is only coughing at night so I don't think it falls under "continous cough" and is therefore not a coronavirus symptom. He has a cold, just like every other kids in his class (some of which have been tested and are negative)

Shopaholic29 · 11/09/2020 07:38

I too am in the Manchester area and got a test at drive through site on Sunday. I tried at about 8am and there was nothing available. Tried back at 9 and was able to book. Worth mentioning when I got to test site, they had no record of booking...!!but was still allowed in to be tested....said the systems were slow...

DanceWithYourBalloon · 11/09/2020 07:41

@mummyof4kids sorry to sound like and idiot but do you mean stay on the page that says no tests available and keep hitting refresh? Explain it to me like I'm 5. 😂
Not had much sleep with poorly kids!

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 11/09/2020 07:42

My DD was sent home on Tuesday with a very obvious cold. Have been trying since 11am on Tuesday to get a test... no joy yet (in London). Trying every couple of hours including throughout the night. When I’ve spoken to anyone at 119 they just say that everyone is in the same boat. It’s ridiculous. This can’t go on all winter.

mummyof4kids · 11/09/2020 07:44

@DanceWithYourBalloon yes stay on the page and keep hitting refresh. Be prepared for it to take a while though, took me about 30-45 minute of refreshing and managed to book a drive through one a 15 minute drive away from me

mummyof4kids · 11/09/2020 07:46

If refreshing doesn't work press walk through sites or drive through and alternate between them both, I did this too.
Hope you manage to get one it's a bloody nightmare isn't it

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 11/09/2020 08:02

But a cold isnt covid

Tenner · 11/09/2020 08:08

nothing either way. And have been trying since yesterday late afternoon. oh well.

Same message here and pretty sure it's covid. Trying to refresh while also wrangling two children and feeling like absolute shit!
