Government announcement at 10.30 tonight

Im listening to LBC radio and they have just said there will be a live government announcement on LBC at 10.30 tonight that will affect households. I am confused why would this be on LBC at that time, if they know the announcement they are going to make, why not make it earlier?

According to the daily mail no more than 6 can meet up from Monday, both indoors and outdoors ☹️

No more than 6 Government officials can resign in one day.

No more social gatherings but you can go to work, school, the pub, shops, theme parks, on a train or bus, all those places where multiple people may be close together for periods of time.

So no school?
No pubs? (More than 6)
Shops?
Kids clubs...

If it's about schools I'll be weeping, mine don't go back until tomorrow!

I go to an outdoor fitness class with many many people so don't l ow how that will be affected.

I predict they are closing the pubs. That's why its a 10.30 announcement, so Boris can go for a last pint first.

I am confused why its spreading so much with masks and social distancing in place.

The barefaced fking cheek of more restrictions on the same day they change the testing procedures because of all the false positives, and near the same time that the IFR/CFR debacle (neither of which have been anywhere in the media I gather, these are massive, massive stories - something is going on) is unfolding genuinely astounds me.

But then it goes on to say if the size of a household is large it can be more than 6, and certain things like sports and weddings are allegedly exempt.

Wondering whether the announcement will hit grassroots sport- DC have just started football club again and will be gutted if it stops again ☹️

The government are concerned about the rise in cases yet the Doncaster races are going ahead this week with approx 20,000 in attendance over the 4 days.

The Fail is saying they "will ban social gatherings of more than six people, both indoors and outdoors, across all of England from Monday. Weddings, funerals and organised team sports are exempt from the new rules, however, which will apply to get-togethers in areas including private homes, parks, pubs and restaurants."

They announced yesterday that parkrun would be restarting in October - do club sports/activities count as social gatherings?

Just been announced! No more than 6 people from 14th September!

Wonder if this will impact groups like Scouts? They have just changed their guidance to allow scouts etc to meet inside.
