going back to the article on deprivation links, or not, the LSOAs for the most recent week show a mixed picture.

Tables by region - and with some regions needing more than one table.

Region
LA;
LA LSOA code (will use @MRex's excellent link next time round);
LSOA population (ONS most recent estimate published last October)
LSOA population % between 15 and 34; highlighted if 30% or higher
LSOA cases for wk 34 from PHE file
LSOA rate per 100,000

Deprivation Decile ; where 1 is the most deprived decile and 10 the least deprived. Colour coded so 1 in red; 10 in green etc

Overall deprivation and each individual deprivation domain shown.

East of England first up

MXT which school is that in Suffolk please?

MXT835EKS · 06/09/2020 19:45

South Suffolk, not sure on the exact name, it's just one my friend's DC's go to.

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2020 19:46

Samuel Ward in Haverhill.

Beccatheboo · 06/09/2020 19:51

Thanks - Suffolk has had v low numbers so that surprises me.

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2020 19:53

I do wonder sometimes whether low numbers in places like Suffolk, Lincolnshire, Norfolk are due to inaccessibility of testing which maybe means some people lie low for a while rather than try and get to a testing centre. But that may be nonsense.

Beccatheboo · 06/09/2020 19:56

There is a drive-through testing place in Ipswich although (as has been in the press) my SIL when she needed a test was sent (ironically!) to Haverhill, which is quite a drive away.

MXT835EKS · 06/09/2020 19:59

The massive testing drive through facility at Stansted airport isn't exactly miles from Haverhill & with Suffolk in general.

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2020 20:00

I know there are jitters in Lincoln because it has a large student population compared to its size, and one testing centre which is drive through and miles out of town so not ideal for students! At the moment , Lincoln has very few cases.

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2020 20:03

Haverhill is Matt Hancock's constituency!

Beccatheboo · 06/09/2020 20:11

Stansted is over an hour’s drive away - not great if you’re feeling unwell!

Piggy, you’re right!

grownags · 06/09/2020 20:12

Once again Thankyou !!!

I think you might be right. I know of more than one person in Such a rural area Who hasn’t bothered getting tested because they don’t want to drive more than an hour, no home tests available. The 3 I know wfh but I suspect they’ve still being going shopping, etc and I know their spouses are still out and about.
Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2020 20:22

My friend's DH has to get tested now because of a positive case at Northampton CC where he works. It's all beginning to feel a bit chaotic.

tootyfruitypickle · 06/09/2020 20:22

Anyone else follow RP131 on twitter - does v good graphs. He’s hypothesising (I think) that interventions currently make little difference and the passage of the virus is just about time rather than anything we do or don’t do.

I may have interpreted that wrong as feeling quite Sunday evening ish so be interested in what others think about what he is saying. Seems to be some idea that there is multiple testing of individual cases going on ?
