Interestingly the french guy was talking about the significant number of 40 ish women in this category which he explained as being more likely to get autoimmune conditions

Think it's 70 plus days for me now. Most symptoms eventually went after about 4 weeks but would have occasional stingy eyes, headaches and burning feeling in nose. It got less over time but it's back with a vengeance today. Feel awful 😞 Definitely not sinusitis as I've had that before and nose is clear.

DD got it a week after me. She's still suffering with fatigue, blocked nose and chesty cough.

I tested positive with antibody test a couple of weeks ago. How can I be fine for weeks and now getting symptoms back again!

Oh and I've had a thumping heart beat the last week too, I can hear it in my head and it's driving me crazy. BP is normal so not that

@godhelpusall yes I am starting to think there may be an autoimmune link for me. I have a well managed condition (coeliac) that I developed a couple of years ago. I wonder if the long lasting effects are related to the ongoing immune response.

Report
fedupofbed · 07/06/2020 16:43

@TiddleTaddleTat yes I have coeliacs too and am sure there's a connection.

@starlilly88 I'm sorry it's come back so badly for you.

I'm back in bed now feeling sick and horrible again. Week 12 for gods sake. I've been doing online training for the last three days all morning, plus eating bread. I've had a headache since Friday lunchtime and now I feel like I've relapsed again.

@godhelpusall It's horrible, isn't it? I keep ending up back here. My cough has got worse again and my temperature has been up again. It's so depressing. It feels like I'm in Groundhog Day and I cannot escape.

I appreciate this thread, but I really wouldn't wish it on anyone else. ThanksThanks

I need some recovery stories from the long-haulers. Anyone please? Something that would cheer us up a bit.

Report

Aw sorry you're having bad days too @Mittens030869 and @godhelpusall . Groundhog Day is a good description.

My jitteriness and heart rate has stabilised this afternoon but still SOB and mildly raised temperature back.

Report
fedupofbed · 07/06/2020 17:40

Yes I was just thinking that @Moodgie . Who's improving today?

Report
MillStone · 07/06/2020 18:09

@Lightsabre Nice to hear you’re getting out a bit and slowly improving too Smile

I’m resting a lot too and progress is just so slow isn’t it. The SOB is a worry — It was my 1st symptom and it’s still the most persistent.

Sure yep, will keep you posted with interesting findings from my tests (haven’t had most of them yet) but I don’t suppose I’ll learn the results until the next consultation in several weeks time.

I have a feeling, like all previous tests these will also show no issues.

I wonder how the very first posters who have since disappeared are getting on. There were a few with really bad SOB. I can’t remember names. NHSdad maybe!?

Thanks for the article @TiddleTaddleTat and the summary @godhelpusall.

Yes chest pain and SOB are my lingering symptoms from the beginning. Had 3 weeks feeling really good then crashed again about 12 days ago. It really is ground hog day. I have set myself a goal of being well by kids school holidays. Even if I start feeling better before that I'm not going to do any exercise until then. I am back at work full time which is really hard but can't warrant anymore time off 🙄😭

@Moodgie - Lupus? My mum had Lupus. I must admit some of the things I've been experiencing reminds me of her symptoms.

@fedupofbed @Moodgie*@Egghead68@Lightsabre @Kitcat122 @godhelpusall* sorry you are all still struggling, this really is an very frustrating virus. I wanted to update you you, as I largely feel back to normal and pretty much back to doing everything I was doing before. After nearly 3 months, the last issue is still my throat and the hospital have now agreed to do a face to face in the next two weeks. Still getting gerd type symptoms, but they've asked me to come off the lanporazole so they can properly investigate what is wrong. I can see that a few others are struggling with the same swollen throat and gerd, so I will feedback as soon as I have the appointment. I hope you and everyone else start to improve in the way I have and I hope that this helps bring some hope that the relapses do eventually stop. Take care all and I'll update soon X

@AndsLee There seems to be a few in slack with lupus. What symptoms are similar?

Report
AndsLee · 07/06/2020 19:49

@godhelpusall - I mean some of the symptoms I have been experiencing. The 'snoring' when I get tired. The aches and pains, the butterfly rash on my face, rash on hands... But in fairness, these are also post viral symptoms. It's true that Lupus can be triggered by a viral infection. As far as a generalised list of symptoms of Lupus, they are vast. It can be very mild and localised, or it can effect multiple organs. Because it can mimic so many other conditions it is often missed or misdiagnosd. I think my mother developed it after she had Rhumatic Fever in her 20s. She was only diagnosed in her 40s...I was 17 at the time. But...knowledge about the condition has come on leaps and bounds.

Thank you for coming back and cheering us up @Gunner30 ! Fantastic that you're largely back to pre covid health.

That GERD does seem to stick around. I hope your appointment goes well.

@Gunner30 - great you feel good! I'm on day 8 of feeling pretty good. The GERD is cracking on, so I would also be keen to see what they say? Xx

egghead sorry, I thought I answered you yesterday.Blush
(I blame the brain fog)

I'm the same. If I'm sitting down doing nothing I'm fine,no symptoms ,but as soon as I potter about I start to feel tired like there is no energy in my body/muscles. Some days it's better than others.
Pacing myself is the only way for me to do anything now.
I have learnt that I have about 10-15 minutes to do a task before I have to sit down otherwise I start shaking,SOB, feel sick and dizzy. It's a PITA.

Week 11
Thanks for everyone wishing me well on my walk this weekend. Unfortunately I didn't get far as the weather has been so wet and windy. I felt wheezy so I am going to wait for an improvement in the weather.
I am hoping to go into the garden tomorrow and potter. So at least I can get some fresh air.

I am going to phone the GP again this week as I 'll be 12 weeks. I'm not sure what they can do but at least it will be recorded on my notes.

I would of thought as I take an immune suppressant my immune system would be less active.
I'm wondering if this is why my body is reacting weirdly. Who knows??

Moodgie · 07/06/2020 20:06

@AndsLee They were just doing a batch of tests as they obviously can’t say if it is definitely covid, hence lupus test I assume. All my tests came back fine.

@Gunner30 Thank you for the hope! Delighted for you!

@moodgie - that's good. I must admit with the family history, Lupus has been in the back of my head. Years ago, they tested me for it, and it was negative. I don't know if it can "develop" though...

@Gunner30 - thanks so much for updating and wonderful that you are almost better! You give us hope! Good luck at the hospital.

@Rosesofeyam thanks for the update. I am sorry you are still suffering so much and you didn’t get much of a walk. I did my first post-new-shielding-rules walk at 5:45am today and it was cold and misty so you didn’t miss much.
