Has anyone looked at Dysautonomia? It might explain some symptoms

That is really interesting Millstone - how do you get that data? Last night is not the first time I have had this racing heart but I have no idea of the frequency or timing. I can still find my pulse going up to 122 (that seems to where if goes when racing). My resting heart rate has gone down though from the 90s to the mid-70s as far as I can work out - that still seems quite high? I will ask my GP when I speak to her.

I have a colleague whose pulse went up to 215 or something crazy like that when he was tachycardic so that is why I don’t know if my figures are within normal range or not. But the heart racing and palpitations are new for me.

I am getting nausea when I work at my laptop which is a bit worrying - I had it in week four when I prematurely started work again and I thought it had gone. But the last few days, it is back. I have done an hour just now and I feel really sick. Do we know what causes the nausea?

@godhelpusall - looks like a prime suspect right enough. And can be post viral, so...

@fedupofbed crosses legs behind sofa, gives you your own bowl of popcorn (social distancing) and whips out "Battleships" ;) xx

Has anyone got a permanent sore throat? Glands feel a bit tender too. I don’t feel unwell any more, just the sore throat.

Report
Egghead68 · 07/06/2020 12:40

@fedupofbed I know 3 other people with probable covid. They all got better within a month apart from one who continued to have odd days of fatigue. I think I caught mine from one of them (next office to me) but can’t be sure.

@haenow I’ve still got a sore throat (day 78/79) but it is on and off not constant.

@Lightsabre

Hey, sorry you’re suffering. You must be on 10wks and a few days now as I’m 10 today.

Yes I’m still suffering with SOB too. That, heart and the fatigue are by far the worst lingering symptoms.

The SOB is deliberating and although I’m pottering a lot I still can’t do a deal without risking SOB / fatigue attack later in the day.

Everything is improving, just very slowly. I’m hoping once things get closer to normal the healing process / fatigue is exponential!?

Regarding your sore windpipe and chest, mine is the same but with a wheezy SOB feeling too. Do you get that? The Omeprazole almost cures all of the above after a few days. Maybe worth trying the Omeprazole before the Doxi?

@KatySun it’s just a Fitbit. The NHS stopped 24hr ECGs here so I bought one to keep an eye on things. It does SP02 all night too which has been useful and reassuring. Have attached another O2 graph.

I'm fairly convinced I have vasculitis. Has anyone else been tested? My hands and feet are red and burny l/prickly and I'm throbbing all over after hot shower.

Hi @Millstone, so glad to hear you feel you're slowly improving. I'm not getting any wheeziness but it sounds like we have similar issues. I'm pottering about too with the occasional very short trip to Waitrose if I can manage it ( have done 3 trips now in the car). I'm resting a lot too.
When do you get your test results? Hope they can unravel some of the mystery for us!

Lightsabre · 07/06/2020 14:03

@godhelpusall, I daren't look that up... can you discuss it with your GP tomorrow? They might need to do specialist tests to diagnose it.

fedupofbed · 07/06/2020 14:52

So you don't know many people either @Egghead68 . I (used to!) work in HE so would imagine I caught it there but no one in my immediate team has been affected. Though I guess some people are symptomatic and also there seems to be more speculation that it's been around longer than we think.

I've just worked out it's my 100 day anniversary, whoop. I'm still 90% in bed. Celebrating with a resurgence of breathlessness, dizzy spells, chest ache and that godawful anxiety, jittery 'fight or flight' feeling. It's never ending. The jittery/palpitation feeling might disappear for a couple of days but then wham I'll have a new random affliction like swollen oesophagus. That goes and then the initial symptoms all come back. I can't work, I can't look after my family. I've become an invalid.

I'm sorry this is totally pathetic of me but just feeling sorry for myself today. I hope you don't mind me venting. I'm just so sad and need to get it off my chest (ha, literally as well as metaphorically!).

Hi all,
Hope things are a little better today.
Just skimmed through the updates and aside from chest type complaints, I see symptoms and say..YES, it’s just far too much of a coincidence.

@Moodgie I’ve had the soreness/weakness in hands for almost a week now, I almost imagine this is what it’s like to have arthiritis and have been feeling scared that’s what it is as feel a bit young to have suddenly developed that?

The jaw problems people are posting about, I thought this was so weird but it’s literally like my jaw/teeth haven’t felt aligned properly if that makes sense, these things sound so strange to me that I generally don’t voice them but saying others saying similar..often when I put my teeth together, they shake?

Hi @Lightsabre
Thanks for asking. I am still in my relapse. Burning sore chest, sob and fatigue and glands up in my throat and under arms. I have a blood test on Thursday and waiting for a chest xray.
I know one work colleague who had it mildly but their son had on going symptoms and is only just feeling better about 10 weeks on and he is a young fit 21 year old.

@fedupofbed big hugs: we will get through this. I've just listened to a french infection specialist being interviewed on radio and he was quite reassuring. Definitely not still the virus and definitely not contagious. Post viral inflammation and he says after 3 months tests for auto immune conditions needed.

This is a summary (I took it off fb)

-1- Psychology and stress while play a factor within our symptoms are not the root cause of the illness at least for 8 cases from 10 according to this infectious dicease exeprt.

-2-Due to the fact that we are consulting and seeing our Gp,doctors.. 3 months or + after the beginning of the symptoms it's hard to retrace the origins of the illness and proove it's covid related, still they don't neglect this theory..

-3- "Important" -there's no long term covid illness, some studies have been done in china were they concluded that there's no way the virus can live post a specific time, with that said our bodies will still shed, some dead entities of the virus..so as long as he's concerned we are dealing with symptoms that are maybe triggered by covid ,but no way the virus itself.

-4-for those who went past the 90 days cap they need to ask for an autoimmune test, assesement and take it from there..

-5- we are not contagious at this point, and data prooves it ..

-6- the sympotms does not necessairly reflect how serious the virus is, but it can be traced to a post viral syndrome that it's similar to toher viruses like "chikungunya/mononucléose" that while are eliminated in short period of times might have a couple of months of symptoms, or an autoimmune reaction to it ...

i hope this helps :) the original link for the publication is this :

As part of my blood test on Friday I was tested for ANA, which I think is the one for autoimmune disorders.
