And answer questions today. I wonder if he's doing the briefing today with Bozo?!

I wonder how this will go?!

OP posts:
StayinginSummer · 25/05/2020 18:00

I do think we need to keep in our minds...

He has not apologized.

ToothFairyNemesis · 25/05/2020 18:00

It is in the guidelines he could seek help for childcare.
@Horehound he wasn’t seeking help for childcare though!

KnobChops · 25/05/2020 18:00

Barnard castle must’ve been a sight for sore eyes.

The castle / eyesight test drive story was a crock and made things even worse from him than if he’d just said “we fancied a day out”.

Anyone else believe they all had a simple case of norovirus? The child tested negative for covid.

Also, who calls an ambulance because a kid throws up with a temp? They sound totally acopic parents.

SimonJT · 25/05/2020 18:01

@hamstersarse Yes, he was allowed to flout the rules as was his wife. Yet children not normal people have died alone in hospital because they were not allowed to break the rules.

Jellycatspyjamas · 25/05/2020 18:02

Actually yes, I’m arsed about putting my whole life on hold at the behest of a government who can’t follow their own rules. I’m arsed that either there was no need for lockdown (because if he can be symptomatic and go about his business why can’t everyone else), I’m arsed because of the utter lack of accountability in our current leadership.

Hitchyhero · 25/05/2020 18:02

So to confirm.... It's perfectly fine to drive to a castle to test your eyesight (when you think its bad) with your child in the car during a pandemic.

And to top it off... MPs are once again backing Cummings. Its against the law to drive if you think you have bad eyesight but now MPs are advocating it

ravenmum · 25/05/2020 18:04

Google says that he could have gone to Specsavers in Barnard Castle instead.

TakemetoGreeceplease · 25/05/2020 18:05

Is anyone really that arsed about this?

Well yes because as goverment scientists and the police have already pointed out many people will now think fuck this I'm doing as I like and this will result in many more deaths, not to mention they may well have spread the virus whilst in Durham, also possibly resulting in deaths, so yes I am bothered and I'm certainly not the only one.

StayinginSummer · 25/05/2020 18:06

@hamstersarse I am because the government have sent out delayed and confusing responses to the pandemic and I was horrified. I’m a scientist in a relevant area.

However at least when he came in with the STAY AT HOME message,
And the clear self isolating with Covid 19 where you not only stayed in your own house, but you didn’t visit your doctor, and stayed in a room only in your house, then I was relieved that there was some clear message, we are all in it together etc, everyone to abide by the rules.

Now we are entering an extremely dangerous phase to be honest, the lifting slowly of lockdown. It is vital we get it right. One of the THE most important things is CONTACT TRACING AND SELF ISOLATION of those people.

I cannot stress enough how important this is in preventing a second wave which could be worse than the first.

However Boris has now to quote ‘run a horse and cart through the contact tracing’ with his support of DC.

It’s very important that he isn’t backed up by the government.

Experimenopause · 25/05/2020 18:06

So this confirms that we are governed by lying shits who don’t care about the rules they make because they don’t have to follow them anyway.
That is enlightening.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 25/05/2020 18:10

"Nobody would rock up to a friend’s CV house to help out would they"
No sensible person would. Better to drive the family at night, making no stops along the way, to isolate in a separate self-contained part of your parents' property in case you become too incapacitated to look after your 4-year old, than come into contact with relatives who live nearby knowing that you do have Covid-19.

Fallsballs · 25/05/2020 18:10

I often drive to a castle to test my eyesight 🤪

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 25/05/2020 18:11

You stopped yourself from writing ‘oh and an INTJ at that

I'm an INTJ and so is my father. Oddly enough we both understand the rules about staying at home - which the PM emphasised as your primary place of residence - if symptomatic and self isolate for 14 days.

There's a difference between a stressed introvert and a lying piece of shit.

@b0redb0redb0red Yep, it's all our own fault because we didn't go the right school and get a decent education. We're stupid, so it's our own fault if we suffer.

jugglingbeans · 25/05/2020 18:21

How does he remember this all in such great detail?

Because it's all made up? he keeps a diary.

jugglingbeans · 25/05/2020 18:23

I often drive to a castle to test my eyesight 🤪

It could be said that he was reasonable in doing that if he had concerns about his eyesight, after all he'd want to check first with a sodding great big building otherwise he might have risked running over a Labour voter or two.

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 25/05/2020 18:26

He’s a shy academic who has clearly acted like a rabbit in the headlights under exceptional circumstances

Like fuck he is.

So, let's take a real shy academic. Replace Dominic Cummings with Chris Whitty.

What do you think would have happened then?

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 18:27

The fines for lockdown breaches were INCREASED on the 13th May too. AFTER they already knew what Cummings had done.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 18:28

All I got from this is lockdown was only for 'certain types of people. '
Other more intelligent people can do what they want.
He even drove a car with dodgy eyes but that's ok because his rich and entitled.
I've only got a few o levels and I know that you don't drive if your poorly 🤒
Especially during a pandemic he reckons he ' saw coming ' !
That did make me laugh.

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 18:30

Are we not having a briefing?

ticktock19 · 25/05/2020 18:30

@StealthPolarBear 7pm now

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 18:32

Thanks

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 18:38

JamieLeeCurtains · 25/05/2020 18:43

Teenagers have become homeless during lockdown, on BBC now
