And answer questions today. I wonder if he's doing the briefing today with Bozo?!

I wonder how this will go?!

I can't believe he admitted to driving with eyesight problems, that is as bad as breaking lockdown rules.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 25/05/2020 17:18

the general public on the whole wont want to kick him whilst hes down

This member of the public would be quite happy to. Man's wife has symptoms which might be CV - worried about her and child while he's at work. Why would he be at work? What about 14 day isolation? And don't tell me he's too important for that - our entire fucking parliament is working remotely. Then it suddenly changes and he doesn't want his family home alone because his home is a 'target' and they'll be safer out of London. Nothing to do with the virus then? So why not just send them somewhere 'safe'.

I'm not going to be surprised at the number of people who will fall for this. It really is 100% true that a society gets the government it deserves!

SimonJT · 25/05/2020 17:18

“She felt unable to look after him” erm, I know this is radical, but you could have looked after him.

Also, your brother lives two streets away from you in London.

DippyAvocado · 25/05/2020 17:18

Who on earth thought it was advisable for him to do this?

I'm assuming the answer is DC himself as he appears to answer to nobody else.

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 17:18

Are we getting an actual briefing

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 17:18

Shy academic? Are you taking the piss.

reesewithoutaspoon · 25/05/2020 17:18

"I thought i was going blind so I drove to a castle to test that theory out".

My kids could do a better job of explaining away stuff when they were in the wrong

hamstersarse · 25/05/2020 17:19

His child is autistic I believe, I’m very glad he hasn’t mentioned it

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/05/2020 17:19

An introvert would be a trembling wreck if the worlds media was descending on them. It's an act that wins over the gullible. A hugely successful tactic for the last 4 years.

cinammonbuns · 25/05/2020 17:19

@S0phisticatedSal shy academic.... please tell me you are joking

NoisyBrain · 25/05/2020 17:21

They have been appalling. Stirring up fear, creating anxiety, cherry picking stories that suit their narrative

These are exactly the kind of tactics Dominic Cummings used on social media to divide the country and win the Brexit vote. Perhaps now he might appreciate how shit it is.

mooffie · 25/05/2020 17:21
  • What he did was bad (and weird him and his wife misleading ppl as to where they were...) especially as he was helping with policy and had corona and had options for childcare in London and this stupid breach repeatedly.

*I could actually forgive the initial act but the castle trip, walk etc is BS. Letting the 17 yo risk her life, ok. 👍🏼

Then it’s so much worse when the Gov and cabinet cover for him. Who had a backbone?! Half my family voted for the tories and are now wondering who is an actual MP with any idea of how to govern, if this muppet has so much sway

It's the cover up & the doubling down that is so offensive

S0phisticatedSal · 25/05/2020 17:21

So what would you have done if you had no childcare and had such a crucial job?Nobody would rock up to a friend’s CV house to help out would they.

FourTeaFallOut · 25/05/2020 17:21

Lying is much simpler and leads to less confusion.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 17:21

Yeah loads of shy academics stand in front of the media while loading up their car saying "i dont really care what you think"

Its well known to be the shy academics rite of passage.

juneybean · 25/05/2020 17:22

He did what he thought was best for his family and everyone else should do what's best for their family. People threatening to visit their families because of what Dominica Cummings did is just daft because it will be your fault if they contract covid and die. It wont be Dominic Cummings fault. You do you.

S0phisticatedSal · 25/05/2020 17:22

Ok not shy but clearly not a confident public speaker.

Chris Witty is a shy introverted academic

They are not excluded from the media!!

S0phisticatedSal · 25/05/2020 17:23

So what should they have done?

FourTeaFallOut · 25/05/2020 17:23

They could just toughen the fuck up and follow the rules?

BamboozledandBefuddled · 25/05/2020 17:23

Nobody would rock up to a friend’s CV house to help out would they

Of course they do and they have.

juneybean · 25/05/2020 17:24

What are you talking about smile?

hamstersarse · 25/05/2020 17:24

Yeah loads of shy academics stand in front of the media while loading up their car saying "i dont really care what you think"

That’s disagreeableness, a totally separate facet of personality to introversion
