For the avoidance of doubt, I'd feel this way no matter what party was in power. This isn't a party political issues, this is a competence and personal integrity issue. This government has neither.

ssd · 24/05/2020 17:42

Thank you everyone here

And now fuck off

snowballer · 24/05/2020 17:42

I can't get over how bloody angry I am about this. Bare faced lies. It's absolutely, utterly outrageous. This entire government is morally bankrupt at best and absolutely dangerous at worst.

ssd · 24/05/2020 17:42

That was Boris not me Grin

Please please don't let this just quietly disappear.

category12 · 24/05/2020 17:43

What are people going to do? Protest? Write petitions?

Yes, why not?

You can also email your MP. Takes 5 minutes.

These briefings are NOT for the purpose of discussing the actions of any MPs/Aides - it is supposed to be for the purpose of discussing the coronavirus crisis. All the repeated questions about DC meant that we didn't learn a single thing about the progress which is hopefully being made. I hate the media.

RhubarbFizz · 24/05/2020 17:44

Did he stay in his own residence ( a 2nd home perchance) in Durham, a family residence that way empty or moved in with family and therefore grandparents exposed to potentially 3 infected people?

Livingtothefull · 24/05/2020 17:44

I can't find the words to say how disgusted I am by this. At a time when so many people are making sacrifices to keep everyone safe, and many parents are struggling to look after their DC with no help. We are all lesser parents I suppose?

I don't see how this can be allowed to go on. Vote of no confidence? How can that be arranged?

Opendraw · 24/05/2020 17:44

WOW was that defence of Cummings scripted for him as that is the most articulate I have heard him at any briefing.

VerticalHorizon · 24/05/2020 17:44

BJ's made his bed...

I think he's backed a wrong 'un tonight.

If it was all so above board, why not say that at the time?

JamieLeeCurtains · 24/05/2020 17:44

Johnson is an absolute dissolute fraud.

whatashower · 24/05/2020 17:45

Car crash. Unless it’s a clear strategy to lose the next election.

They knew the questions were coming. Surely no-one advised that “bluff, waffle, contradict, avoid, deny” would work.

‘Yes he broke lockdown. Yes he is a twat. No I’m not going to sack him, yes life is not fair, boo goo, my prerogative” would at least have avoided all the jaw dropping gaslighting.

Opendraw · 24/05/2020 17:45

Scotland’s scientific advisor stepped down for visiting a 2nd without symptoms a. He should definetly go. Think they have misjudged he mood of the public.

TokyoSushi · 24/05/2020 17:45

Well that was dreadful, if anything made it worse. I'm not sure this is over...

Perhaps a bit like when Nicola Sturgeon & Catherine Calderwood tried to style out their press conference and then she went shortly afterwards.

But these two are so bloody arrogant that they'll most likely just carry on regardless.

Disgraceful.

Saladmakesmesad · 24/05/2020 17:46

These briefings are NOT for the purpose of discussing the actions of any MPs/Aides - it is supposed to be for the purpose of discussing the coronavirus crisis.

Yes and whether we trust the people giving them, and the associated, restrictive guidance on how to live our lives, is of supreme importance.

Right now, I think they are vile, disgusting liars and will make my own judgments about what to do and what is safe. Starting with visiting my parents.

Mrsfussypants1 · 24/05/2020 17:46

Slow Loris needs to go!

CrazyTimesAreOccurring · 24/05/2020 17:46

I wonder why it has taken 6/7 weeks to be revealed. With the Scottish advisor it was straight away. Neighbours saw him, or heard him blasting Abba!! Why not bring it up weeks ago?

SimonJT · 24/05/2020 17:46

I genuinely thought I understood this, but some naughty person must have messed with the subtitles and added a ‘not’ where there shouldn’t have been one.

Saladmakesmesad · 24/05/2020 17:47

The problem is, the next election is a long, long way away. And they know it. They don't give a fuck because they know the electorate have short memories.

Barkingfuckingdogs · 24/05/2020 17:47

I'm agog at what I've just watched. Let's hope the photos are out in the press tomorrow of DC out & about. How will BJ come back from that happening? What utter bullshit will be cooked up and spat out then.

didmyhousethismornin · 24/05/2020 17:47

I hope this isn’t forgotten about

Unshriven · 24/05/2020 17:47

@category12 Because the Government pay precisely no attention to them. Grin

Although a mass protest/demo during lockdown would be quite an event.

ThePianist38 · 24/05/2020 17:47

Totally agree with his decision ,let’s not forget, Calderwood wasn’t sacked by Sturgeon either

Opendraw · 24/05/2020 17:48

Ugh my typing second home I meant - sorry !
