"It wasn't like they were driving around..."

FuckThisWind · 24/05/2020 09:24

Ah so the guidance was

Remain in the same location
Protect the NHS
Save Lives

It was never Stay at Home?
How stupid of us not to realise this all along!

stoptherideiwanttogetoff · 24/05/2020 09:24

Sorry late to the party on this one.. but when did this happen? Fleeing to Durham in a blind panic when the PM was diagnosed with CV

itsgettingweird · 24/05/2020 09:24

Steve Baker was extremely clear he doesn't think Cummings should have ever been in No10.

Now we need all those MPs who agree to climb out the woodwork.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 09:25

Labour shadow secretary is demanding BJ do the daily briefing

I agree with this. He needs to stop sending his minions out to do his dirty work, he's supposed to be in charge he should be there.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 09:25

DC's flight in a laundry basket happened before BJ went into hospital and we were told he was 'working normally' in 10DS.

seriousandloyal · 24/05/2020 09:26

I have just emailed my MP about this. I am still very angry about Government ministers and an official statement from 10 Downing Street lying and retrospectively changing the rules when we all know that it is not permitted for a person infected with coronavirus to travel across the country. It is insulting and indefensible.

itsgettingweird · 24/05/2020 09:26

Totally agree that BJ needs to do daily briefing.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 09:26

It's so to have Grant giving the excuses. Like your mum ringing in to work for you while you hide under the duvet with your Xbox.

Why are they not making Cummings attend these things so he can answer? Oh yes, because he would just say he didn't care.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 09:28

Shapps basically saying:

The first 'second visit' is untrue. Wouldn't confirm the next one when asked to go on the record

The guidance was always up for interpretation anyway you muppets

The police were contacted by dad Cummings to discuss security issues

This may end like Rasputin. Some Tory MPs will drag him out of his N.London pad and chuck him in the Regents Canal.

chomalungma · 24/05/2020 09:29

Car crash with Shapps on Ridge.

I hope someone asks him how many people who had a child and 1 parent was ill travelled to other parts of the UK?

BestIsWest · 24/05/2020 09:29

It just reminds me of Rees-mogg’s common sense remark re Grenfell. We’re better than you. Etc.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 09:31

Ridge made her views clear enough when she thanked him for the tips on how to do her job. Trams. As me about trams.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 09:32

If you are living with children
Keep following this advice to the best of your ability, however, we are aware that not all these measures will be possible.
What we have seen so far is that children with coronavirus (COVID-19) appear to be less severely affected. It is nevertheless important to do your best to follow this guidance.

From the 18 May update. Will try to find the one in place for 31st March when DC was a more loving and caring parent than the rest of us.

It says stay at home not travel to where you lockdown.

He has to go.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 09:35

I don't think that section of the guidance was ever made widely known. And certainly not as a way to not 'stay at home'

merrymouse · 24/05/2020 09:35

Very much so.

chomalungma · 24/05/2020 09:35

This.

I know that many parents were wondering what to do if one of them got sick. If only that had been crystal clear in the guidance that you could travel nearer to support, no matter how far away it is.

Roussette · 24/05/2020 09:37

I don't know which bit of 'Stay at Home' Cummings didn't get.

The story has more holes in it than a string vest.

If he doesn't go, the Govt will have lost the goodwill of the public.

Acis · 24/05/2020 09:38

I have just emailed my MP about this.

I tried to email mine, Dominic Raab, via TheyWorkForYou, and got an automated message to the effect that they'd been asked not to forward messages from his constituents.

Strange, that. Clearly he doesn't Work For Us. Just like he spent day after day appearing publicly behind a podium saying "Stay at Home" when he didn't meant that either.

merrymouse · 24/05/2020 09:38

It is nevertheless important to do your best to follow this guidance.

I thought the self isolation guidance that was supposed to be difficult to follow was 'use a different bathroom', not 'stay at home'.

JudyCoolibar · 24/05/2020 09:39

You have to wonder whether they changed the "Stay at Home" message precisely because they were worried this might come out. Everyone's irony metres would have exploded spectacularly at the sight of government ministers and health officials defending him from behind podiums with the original message on.
