X post - sorry, thread about to be full and I know how annoying it is when you don't get your question answered in time

stopcock · 24/05/2020 21:31

Of his brothers. Sorry missed that bit out.

ButteryPuffin · 25/05/2020 01:37

@MagicalThinking you're so right

@The80sweregreat he always wears those awful orange T shirts that make him look like he's just out of Guantanamo

lilgreen · 25/05/2020 08:43

How impressive is Nicola Sturgeon this morning. So clear and straightforward.

randomer · 25/05/2020 09:01

Very clear, very articulate. Admirable.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 09:04

I've emailed my mp again.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 09:16

People are still defending this man on tv and radio!! Someone saying we should have used common sense! Oh, not follow the rules then? The rules that the government made! Why make the fucking rules then!
I have lots of common sense thanks! We needed these rules to stop others dying.
Why anyone can defend him is beyond me!

😤

lilgreen · 25/05/2020 09:28

As Sturgeon said, they are retrofitting the guidelines to his story. Shameful.

effingterrified · 25/05/2020 09:33

Cold War Steve's latest artwork has it right on point this time.

Love Harold Shipman driving the car. Possibly it would have been more apposite if Cummings was pissing on the graves of those who've died from Covid-19, as this is effectively what he's been doing.

Gmom · 25/05/2020 10:53

Boris Johnson's backing of Cummings when clearly he made multiple long distance trips that none of the rest of us felt entitled to make reminds me of Boris's school report that went public:

“I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”

I’m disappointed the near-death experience didn’t change Boris. His sense of entitlement and lack of accountability is unchanged. One set of rules for us. Another set of rules for BJ and his mates.

1forsorrow · 25/05/2020 12:43

DC making a statement this afternoon and answer questions.

MarshaBradyo · 25/05/2020 12:47

Good. Re statement.

If they want to turn this around he should make his own statement not have Johnson do it for him.

LadyEloise · 25/05/2020 12:53

Gmom
I too truly believed that his near death experience might make Boris a more humble being.

BruceAndNosh · 25/05/2020 12:54

"DC making a statement this afternoon and answer questions"
Will be BBC be ok with broadcasting "fuck off the lot of you" ?

janet1267 · 25/05/2020 12:55

I think it's good that he is making a statement. I just want to hear an apology, that he did the wrong thing, and for him to show some humility. And for him to wear a clean t shirt.

Then we can all move on.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 13:00

Janet, me too!
I'm so angry but we do need to move on here. The virus isn't going anywhere.

lilgreen · 25/05/2020 13:06

I’m hoping he’s about to announce his resignation.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 13:06

He won't resign! I doubt that will happen.

lilgreen · 25/05/2020 13:08

He thinks he did nothing wrong so I doubt he’ll apologise. Surely it’s a resignation announcement.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 13:14

I thought that Boris would sack him , so don't count on a registration!
No idea what he'll say.

Ilovegardens · 25/05/2020 18:05

Being BJ's advisor, DC must know some serious stuff about the inner workings of the party and BJs dealings. Maybe that's why BJ doesn't want to see him go. In fact I bet DC could write a bloody good book to make up for his loss of earnings when he's eventually forced out. 🤔

mynameisbiggles · 25/05/2020 18:46

Try worrying about something more important, like getting the economy back on track. Obviously nine weeks in lock-down has addled your brains.

Experimenopause · 25/05/2020 18:47

Well, I for one am not sure I want the economy to be handled by these lying people. What else are they lying about? How many other rules they are bending to get what they want?

Corruptedtongue · 25/05/2020 18:51

Oh god, I’m going to get slated. I don’t think it’s wrong?? The lockdown rules are about safety and common sense. It’s impossible to legislate for everyone’s specific circumstances - and if he was in a desperate situation, and acting in the best interests of his family - I don’t think it deserves such a big fuss. People need to spend their time and energy focusing on things that are going to help us through this crisis - not this.
