He's not Mrs Bloggs on the 16th floor of a high rise @StealthPolarBear. He could've soon organised decent food.

FurForksSake · 23/05/2020 16:45

That seemed short. Probably couldn't get any questions other than about Cummings (and his goings..)

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:46

Campion completely agree. Sorry if my sarcasm didn't shine through.
Presumably he could have requested help from downing Street.

No respect for Jenny. As a medical professional she should be calling this out as 100% against the guidance, stupid, selfish, dangerous and wrong.

Sparkesy · 23/05/2020 16:48

I'm really hoping 'Stay Home' wasn't changed to 'Stay Alert' just to soften the spin on this
Cummings is frighteningly influential

campion · 23/05/2020 16:48

Oh sorry @StealthPolarBear...I was too busy shouting at my telly!

Sparkesy · 23/05/2020 16:49

And I've really lost respect for Jenny

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:50

The North East currently has very high rates. Can we hold Cummings responsible?

Cummings brother in law lives in London, he could have been called upon to look after their child if the need had arisen.
His actions were appalling, and are being compounded by the conservative party trying to explain away his behaviour.

Figgygal · 23/05/2020 16:51

That was aN utter disgrace
So now we could always have taken children to family in case we incapacitated - so all the families who got it and kept their children home at risk to their health needn’t have??

It’s unbelievable

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:51

Even te follow up is interesting today

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:52

He has family local Shock

OP posts:
Laaf80 · 23/05/2020 16:55

Is it me or are the details being blurred?

I’m sure I’ve heard

  • Both were ill (too ill to mind child, but well enough to drive 250miles?)
  • wife was ill and he was scared he would get it? (No guarantee he would, or as badly?)
  • he was ill and scared mum would get it?

Were both ill or not? If only one then who?

titchy · 23/05/2020 16:55

Wonder if it's against the regulations for cabinet ministers to drive 250 miles away to avoid doing the briefings? Grin

hettie · 23/05/2020 16:55

Ooh I wish I be a 'member of public asking question today'.... How does self isolate if you or anyone in your family has symptoms translate to drive 250 miles... And how could he not be capable of sourcing food and looking after his own child. .

hettie · 23/05/2020 16:56

Oh dear oh dear

RubyViolet · 23/05/2020 16:56

I think l read that the wife has family in London ?????

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:57

Who drove? If he literally drove he wasn't that bad.
Did they stop for fuel? Loo stops?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:57

The message today was he was ill and she wasnt

OP posts:
MrsWhites · 23/05/2020 16:58

The safeguarding excuse is bullshit! We could use that excuse for everything!!

One of my elderly neighbours had a mini stroke this week but was left at home alone after being diagnosed over the phone by a GP - who is safeguarding her?

We’ve all had times when we could do with support from our families but we didn’t, we followed the rules!

It’s actually pathetic that Boris feels he needs him so much that he is excusing this behaviour!

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 16:58

Do you know what if the message is all about common sense I'm going to take my children to see their (relatively young and healthy) grandparents in the garden.

OP posts:
Samtsirch · 23/05/2020 16:59

Why hasn’t he been sacked if he doesn’t have the decency to resign ?

Hermagsjesty · 23/05/2020 17:00

Does Cummings not have neighbours? Are we really expected to believe no one else could have dropped off food? The ministers defending this should hang their heads in shame. Lockdown rules no “down to interpretation”. Public health sacrificed to save one powerful aide,

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2020 17:00

I hope that's currently what's happening.
Sorry old chap... No hard feelings, what
