What will be the new Loo roll sell out?

After loo roll sell out came cleaning products and now bikes, cycle shops are selling entire stock of bikes and up to 50 bikes a day rather than 30 bikes a week.

So what will be the next hot product?

I think it could be tents and camping equipment as people decide to stay in UK for cheap holidays away

Vanilla essence seems to have vanished from earth. Now I am scraping out vanilla pods. They are lovely but so expensive (£6 for 2 pods!!)

Trampolines! Have been trying to get one since beginning of lockdown.
Table tennis. Ditto.

Inflatable hot tubs are the new loo roll about 4 weeks ago. I managed to get one of them. Have lots of baking ingredients. We have a Switch, I do keep trying to predict the next popular item.

Exercise equip

To be fair that has been hard to come by for ages. I managed to find an exercise bike for a decent price in April but it took a lot of searching to find it.

@G3m81 British Gypsum are meant to be back working now and working through a backlog of orders, so plaster shouldn't be an issue for much longer.

Agree about milling granulated sugar to make it finer. I always used my Magimix food processor for this. We used to live in the wilds, so had to improvise when needed! I have been known to make icing sugar but it takes forever to get it fine enough unless you only need glacé.

Re vanilla essence; if you have sugar just for baking, a vanilla pod kept in the jar will impart the flavour. It can last for ages, just top up the sugar.

Tahini disappeared from all supermarket shelves near us for over a month. I can only think that everyone was making their own houmous (as we were). Homemade houmous using tahini is lots better than without!

Don't know what the next thing will be, but at the moment Sainsbury's is short of tinned fruit and sultanas/raisins.

Read on another thread that it will be mouthwash because some scientist said it might be a good idea to use it a lot at the moment.

Hydrogen peroxide for a home made mouth wash in that case.

The vanilla thing is about bad weather resulting in a poor harvest, not lockdown. It happens. One year, Madagascan vanilla extract quadrupled in price after the orchids were hid by a tropical storm.

@WellTidy - peanut butter is an ok substitute for tahini. Not perfect but far better than nothing.

Suddenly handsoap is sold out here at every shop. I bought bar soap instead (I read that it's fine to wash your hands with it and doesn't make a difference re hygiene).

Ever since state of emergency has been declarered here I keep more stock then usual of neccesairy toiletries and cleaning products. I make sure I have enough bleach, toilet cleaner, laundry detergent, washing up liquid and all purpose cleaner to last a few weeks. Also bought extra toothpaste, floss, soap, shampoo, suncream and deodorant.

@MissDollyMix you don't need glass cleaner just washing up liquid and fabric conditioner then squeegee off. I know it sounds crazy but honestly it's amazing! I've never been able to wash windows but they are crystal clear😀
