What will be the new Loo roll sell out?

After loo roll sell out came cleaning products and now bikes, cycle shops are selling entire stock of bikes and up to 50 bikes a day rather than 30 bikes a week.

So what will be the next hot product?

I think it could be tents and camping equipment as people decide to stay in UK for cheap holidays away

Icing sugar is already the new loo roll sell out. I cannot buy it for love nor money and have had to post on our community facebook page to get some. I am not a professional baker but do it as a hobby and have made about 6 birthday cakes in the last 3 weeks and getting the ingredients (along with flour) is nigh on impossible. Even out of stock at a catering company and on amazon (it might be back in stock now). Very frustrating!

okiedokieme · 12/05/2020 14:44

Still need bread flour but Lidl had yeast so bought 16 sachets (2 packs) in anticipation of locating bread flour soon

duckme · 12/05/2020 14:46

At the beginning of the lockdown bread flour was impossible to get. Now it's in abundance at my supermarket but self raising flour is rarer than hens teeth. Apparently people were, at first, concerned about ensuring they had enough bread but since there hasn't ever really been a shortage in loaves of bread, concern has now shifted to keeping kids occupied and baking is the activity to be doing!

duckme · 12/05/2020 14:47

@YgritteSnow have you searched for 'gaming chairs' rather than office chairs? They're pretty much the same thing in many cases. We managed to get our son one last week for his school work.

HRT patches. Again. Be afraid, be very afraid.

HeyLala · 12/05/2020 14:56

Yes to HRT.
Especially now that there is evidence that female hormones may be the reason why women are less likely to die from COVID.
It was bad enough last year for supplies when many of my friends and I had to change types but could get much worse!!!

lpchill · 12/05/2020 14:57

Kids clothes
Kids toys
Hot tubs
Baking stuff
Compost
Hairdressing stuff -dye /scissors
Water activities equipment. We just brought an inflatable paddle board (but was going to get once this year anyway so I could take my daughter paddle boarding on my own as the kayak is too heavy)

Bubbletrouble43 · 12/05/2020 14:58

I've seen several people desperately trying to find hot tubs on Facebook apparently they are sold out everywhere

Millie2013 · 12/05/2020 15:05

I managed to find bread flour in Sainsbury’s today, for the first time since lockdown

(At the same time by friend texted to tell me she’s found me some, I’ll await the next request for it on our local Facebook group)

I found yeast in Waitrose last week

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 12/05/2020 15:06

My local Tesco run or of grapefruit segments...

marigoldsmarigolds · 12/05/2020 15:11

HeyLala HRT patches have very quietly come back into stock. I got six months prescription filled from my pharmacy this morning. Good luck!

OohThatCat · 12/05/2020 15:12

Home gym equipment. It's taken me weeks to get hold of a kettlebell, and I've had to pay an over inflated price for it!

Legoandloldolls · 12/05/2020 15:12

I hope it's not kids clothes 😢 I'm going to buy some hair dye now just in case!

I think paracetamol.and hand gel as the masses start to mobilise.

I have a hoard of fabric as it's my hobby but forget making the kids clothes! We have a local clothes bank on FB and are all helping each other out. It's a life saver esp now clothes shops are shut.

Smithtylater · 12/05/2020 15:13

Baking stuff....

Whatabanana · 12/05/2020 15:15

@eminybob we managed to get a switch after finding a website called 'stock informer'. you tell them what you want and it emails you/sets off an alarm for you when it is available somewhere. it still took us a couple of weeks (including a false alarm with AO-they took the money but immediately refunded it) then told us they had it at currys and we managed to get one (you need to act fast when the alarm goes off!)

ShaniaPayne · 12/05/2020 15:15

Vitamin D supplements

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2020 15:16

Puppies or any dogs. They are double the price and mostly impossible to buy now.

If that's because puppy mills and dodgy/downright illegal imports have stopped then good.
There are surely dogs needing rehoming after owners have died or not able to keep them for various reasons?

SouthWestmom · 12/05/2020 15:20

This is so interesting.
Locally (SE) people are saying trampolines and exercise equipment on FB groups
We struggle to get free range eggs
Not sure but hair clippers were tricky at one stage.

I reckon things like hair dye, beer glasses, hand cream

EffOrf · 12/05/2020 15:21

I can’t get self raising flour, I managed to get rye flour from Amazon and bread flour is available now.

Ready made cheap fabric masks

I did second guess dental filler and bought a couple of different makes while it was fairly plentiful and cheap.

Pipandmum · 12/05/2020 15:23

Well oddly I haven't been able to find any branded sweet corn in the last three shops I tried.

sleepyhorse · 12/05/2020 15:24

Paddling pools

Whatabanana · 12/05/2020 15:25

what is dental filler? is it used for home dentistry??

0blio · 12/05/2020 15:26

@Iamthe1andonlyyyyy 😂

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2020 15:30

Pregnancy tests. Sales are up by nearly 70% in Ireland.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2020 15:30

We struggle to get free range eggs
That's a distribution problem, plenty here in the NW. lots of producers locally.
