I know there will be a roadmap of milestones but...

What does everyone think will be eased first and do you think it will be live from tomorrow (Monday)?

I think more return to work most to carry on working from home where possible and maybe be allowed to visit family at 2 metre distance.

Vera

And Corbyn was fit to do the job????

Don't make me laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Gfplux · 10/05/2020 17:05

The newspapers were sure what he would say (because he told them?)

Does anyone know why any info on school reopening was completely withheld from various briefs that the Sunday papers were able to exploit today? It’s such an important issue affecting milions and isnt reflected anywhere in the new slogan. How can children understand what staying alert to everyone and everything means?

sonicshoegazes · 10/05/2020 17:06

I'm just going to carry on staying at home and keeping to myself. This is all absolute bollocks!

I had my test picked up this morning and it's just crap.

I'm not going to make this political as it's a pandemic but they don't know how to cope-nobody does.

EnlightenedOwl · 10/05/2020 17:06

Not even going to bother watching. What's going to change. Fed up so depressed.

Itisasecret · 10/05/2020 17:08

If the leaked stages are true, we are still in whatever colour which is some of lockdown as is the next stage so it is looking like it maybe a while. Total guess though.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 10/05/2020 17:10

Just wait! 2 more hours.

We won't know if the leaks are just not lies, like most newspaper headlines recently, until we hear what he says...

Patience. Or it just becomes another thread full of disinformation!

They're not leaks though, are they? They are releases. Boris himself has tweeted

Namechangervaver · 10/05/2020 17:56

Thanks @KonTikki

I'm going to dig out the transcript now...

From Matthew Parris in The Times:

Well, here he is at prime minister’s questions this week. I quote at length and include the ums and ers because the halting prolixity, waffle and intellectual confusion need to be flagged up. An increasingly formidable Sir Keir Starmer had asked why Britain had abandoned its testing programme in March, only to resume it now.

The prime minister: “A-a-as I think is readily apparent, Mr Speaker, to everybody who has studied the, er, the situation, and I think the scientists would, er, confirm, the difficulty in mid-March was that, er, the, er, tracing capacity that we had — it had been useful … in the containment phase of the epidemic er, that capacity was no longer useful or relevant, since the, er, transmission from individuals within the UK um meant that it exceeded our capacity. … [A]as we get the new cases down, er, we will have a team that will genuinely be able to track and, er, trace hundreds of thousands of people across the country, and thereby to drive down the epidemic. And so, er, I mean, to put it in a nutshell, it is easier, er, to do now — now that we have built up the team on the, on the way out — than it was as er, the epidemic took off …”

I watched this PMQ and as Boris was giving this answer I switched off because his answer was going nowhere, and I couldn't make head nor tail of it. Can anyone translate and help me figure out if he had actually answered the question or not?

But that's his superpower, I guess Grin

SouthWestmom · 10/05/2020 19:12

Year R and Year 6? Nothing on 10 and 12?

RedToothBrush · 10/05/2020 19:13

This is the plan that was leaked weeks ago...

Appuskidu · 10/05/2020 19:13

Mummypig2020 · 10/05/2020 19:14

CeeJay81 · 10/05/2020 19:15

Mine are yr1 and yr6. Shame I don't live in England though. They do nothing but fight at home!

Flaxmeadow · 10/05/2020 19:16

Really good clear statement

Jojo19834 · 10/05/2020 19:17

So when are we seeing friends and family again? Not mentioned at all so, what, after July?!?

EmMac7 · 10/05/2020 19:17

Light on detail as always.

“Drive to other destinations”. How far?

Ilets · 10/05/2020 19:18

Easilyanxious · 10/05/2020 19:18

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 10/05/2020 19:18

@Flaxmeadow - perhaps we weren't watching the same thing?

VenusStarr · 10/05/2020 19:19

Clear as mud then 🙄

Easilyanxious · 10/05/2020 19:19

Think we see more detail tomorrow this was just an overview and basically telling us we are in for long run as such

TurtleTortoise · 10/05/2020 19:20

So when are we seeing friends and family again? Not mentioned at all so, what, after July?!?

I know!!

How the fuck can they be sending people back to work, and talking about when schools go back whilst people are still being forced into the hell of isolation? I need a hug!!!! I can;t fucking do this. Fucking twatty government
