Sorry if this thread has been down before but just wondering what people think the changes will be on Sunday?

OP posts:
Youreadthebabybooks · 08/05/2020 19:23

Similar to what was announced in wales today
Minor tweaks
Garden centres can open
Go out to exercise more
But lockdown continuing for another three weeks
Not sure about schools
Schools won’t be opening on 1st June in wales but maybe will start in England that week but they will need to decide Sunday to give the required three weeeks notice
I don’t think they can differ too much between all four nations because people just wouldn’t bother
But who knows !!

Letseatgrandma · 08/05/2020 19:25

I can imagine it being very similar to Wales.

LaurieFairyCake · 08/05/2020 19:32

Everything people have said plus

Sex outdoors

Letseatgrandma · 08/05/2020 19:33

@LaurieFairyCake Grin

YogaLite · 08/05/2020 20:10

Everything above (inc sexGrin - can I have some please!).

Ion the meantime the government will be monitoring whether people who are more and more frequently ignoring the boundaries contribute to rise in infections/hospital admissions.

Thisdressneedspockets · 08/05/2020 20:27

Everything we can already do but think we can't do, so that there'll be no change to legislation required.

Exercise more than once.
Gather in 2's for exercise with someone not from our household.
Something added to the none exhaustive list of reasonable excuses. Sex outdoors seems a reasonable suggestion.

SophieB100 · 08/05/2020 20:44

Boris is drawing his road map as we type and read!
He has different coloured pens and everything.
And glitter.

tenterden · 08/05/2020 20:49

Very little change

Not schools going back.

Maybe you will be allowed to sunbathe or have a picnic outdoors rather than just walking/cycling.

It would be great if garden centres opened Smile

Frustratedsenmummy · 08/05/2020 20:50

I think they will outline for HOW schools will return but with no dates or very provisional dates attached. If it won't be until September I think that will be made clear too.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 08/05/2020 20:52

3 more weeks

Justmuddlingalong · 08/05/2020 20:53

I'm hoping for an announcement banning under your breath, tuneless whistling.

TokyoSushi · 08/05/2020 20:56

If I did the road map, it would 100% have glitter!

whatisforteamum · 08/05/2020 20:59

Garden centres have opened and others announced opening next weds.Tips too where live.
I can't wait for the sex outdoors.It has been a while😉

WhiteChocTwix · 08/05/2020 21:12

I would have liked to have seen Boris address the nation yesterday. None of his top team work weekends, there's going to be a negligible amount of data coming through before Sunday. Today is such an auspicious day, 75 years since victory in Europe. It's bigger than Boris, he shouldn't have sent his minions in. They all have nothing of substance to say and looking like rabbits in headlights. Screw it, I'm staying in bed until Sunday!

Parker231 · 08/05/2020 21:35

No point announcing anything until after the Bank Holiday weekend. The update will then be that there is to be very little change with the lockdown as the death rate is still too high.

Realitea · 08/05/2020 21:39

@SophieB100 that made me laugh so much Grin

KitKatKit · 08/05/2020 21:42

Absolutely nothing. That's what will be announced.

feelingverylazytoday · 08/05/2020 22:07

They're probably still tweaking it, but the main gist will be to encourage more people back to work, with a couple of minor 'nice' changes as a reward.
Personally I'd like to see shoe shops and clothes shops opening up again. People are going to need new clothes and shoes with the summer coming up, and I'm sure it would give a little boost to the economy.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 08/05/2020 22:15

Freedom!

LIZS · 08/05/2020 22:17

Another three weeks, with fewer restrictions at open air venues and shops relaxed , assuming social distance can be maintained. Otherwise more of same.

NaiceViper · 08/05/2020 22:20

1st of May is outdoors fucking day

Lockdown easing will include a few further categories of enterprise which can open. And the school-age DC of those with two parents going out to work will be allowed to attend school (ie childcare based in school premises).

And then wait and see if that additional mingling makes any difference to number of new infections

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 08/05/2020 22:21

If it wasn't so tragic, it would be hilarious that the tabloid press were saying Magic Monday! Lockdown Freedom! on Thursday and then what will we get? The opportunity to have a picnic outside and go to the library. Magic fucking Monday indeed.

soloula · 08/05/2020 22:29

Very little change. Clever tactic to say there's a press conference, suggest lockdown will be relaxed and let the media and public go town speculating. Nice distraction from the appalling death toll. See too Neil Ferguson. Good day to bury bad news and all that...

Ilets · 08/05/2020 22:30

Run

Hide

The sky is falling in

confusedandtired99 · 08/05/2020 22:32

Nothing. More bullshit and bluster. They’ve achieved what they wanted to. Thousands mingled today and partied they will continue to over the weekend. They’ll be more spikes in infection in two weeks time right before they have to revise lockdown again.
