Sorry if this thread has been down before but just wondering what people think the changes will be on Sunday?

Gardeners World will now include a Position of the Week.
They also have to be named with a horticultural theme (avoiding the word hoe where possible).

How about the wheelbarrow?

raviolidreaming · 09/05/2020 22:01

I always wear my 10k/half tops now so people know I was running before lockdown

Me too!

LangClegsInSpace · 09/05/2020 22:04

Something shit, short-termist and inadequate.

jollybobs89 · 09/05/2020 22:10

@PeskyRooks that made me laugh so much

HalzTangz · 09/05/2020 22:20

I think the government do need to loft lockdown, the virus (although anyone can get it) mainly has adverse effects on those over 65 or those of nay age with underlying health issues, all others at best suffer a bad type cold. Therefore I feel all workplaces need to reopen but implement one way systems and social distancing where possible, if this means allowing those that can to work from home so those that can't can spread out more in the office space, then that's what individual businesses need to do. Children are the most resilient so they should start sending children back to school, starting with those that need to take exams, then adding more year groups as the year progresses. The government can't keep paying furlough Indefinatey, and already talking of reducing to 60% pay, this will put many people into debt or out of a job completely. Real life does need to return.

OldLace · 09/05/2020 22:25

What time is Johnson due to speak tomorrow, does anyone know?

Parker231 · 09/05/2020 22:28

7pm

pilates · 09/05/2020 22:28

7pm I think

PicsInRed · 09/05/2020 22:43

Worse than joggers and cyclists, is all the hordes of people walking their "friendly" dogs. Dogs which run at you, wipe themselves all over you social distancing? but that's fine as "it's ok he's friendly!" Grin

Hmm I don't care if it's friendly, not taking your word for it get it off me.

Fucking corona-doggies.

The80sweregreat · 09/05/2020 23:01

Laurie; if you can find a field or open space not taken up with walkers or cyclists or dogs then you might be ok! 😀

The80sweregreat · 09/05/2020 23:05

More money for councils to waste on cycle lanes that the cyclists won't bother using!

Oneliner · 09/05/2020 23:06

Hopefully an apology for all the deaths they've caused.

shinynewapple2020 · 09/05/2020 23:22

How does the outdoor sex work if we have to keep 2m apart?

The80sweregreat · 09/05/2020 23:33

Sex will be banned.

toolatetooearly · 09/05/2020 23:47

I'm expecting almost nothing tomorrow- a new slogan, a colourful chart, no dates, no meaningful lifting, a lot of empty words. I can't bear to even listen to BonzoJohnzo.. I'll just catch up on the non-news later in the evening

OldLace · 10/05/2020 00:02

Thanks re the 7pm info x

Grandmi · 10/05/2020 00:09

It will be the usual waffling shitshow that we as a nation should be used to now!! At least it will be him rather than his minions trying to justify his decisions !!

Lovely1a2b3c · 10/05/2020 00:23

Golf courses to open, fox hunting is now allowed, the nanny can come back to work, cleaners/gardeners should get back to work . . . everything to suit Boris's people!

AnguaResurgam · 10/05/2020 06:59

Boris has said not so long ago that premature lifting of the lockdown risked a second peak and that would be utterly disastrous for the economy. That was part of the 'this is the really risky time' rhetoric if a couple of weeks ago.

When someone like Boris says that, I pay attention. Simply because he usually stands for maintaining good economy as necessary to to anything else all, and people expect the Tories to put business interests first. It seems that might mean longer lockdown and slower exit.

Has any country published a roadmap/timetable of exit? I can't think of one. So I guess he'll be announcing a few steps and when they will be reviewed (incubation period is up to 2 weeks, hospitalalisatiin about a week after onset of symptoms, so quite possibly the same 3 week cycle?)

DirtyBlonde · 10/05/2020 07:00

"How does the outdoor sex work if we have to keep 2m apart?"

Full rubber gear?

Peggysgettingcrazy · 10/05/2020 07:04

Lovely1a2b3c do give over. My dad was a policeman for 30 years. He would live the gold course to be open.

He now works for the NHS in a mental health unit. Being able to go for a solo game of golf would be great for him. He is missing it. He also can't stand the Tories.

Golf and having a cleaner or gardener doesn't make you one of Boris' people. Plenty of average people do these things.

I worked in a call centre and several colleagues had gardners. Because they wanted a nice garden and felt the money was worth it, so they could enjoy their gardens, instead of spending the weekend doing it. Hardly Boris' people.

Ilets · 10/05/2020 07:14

Reversecowgirl keeps mouths quite far apart
Full gimp masks perhaps?

KingJarvis · 10/05/2020 07:25

Why are people saying that he’ll announce going out to exercise more than once? You can already do that

acidburning · 10/05/2020 08:14

@AnguaResurgam Ireland have

I thought the rules were you were only supposed to go out for exercise once a day (even though it doesn't sound like people are sticking to that!)
