I know this is pure speculation, but any predictions about changes from next Monday?

I am rapidly losing patience with the media. All these screaming headlines about easing the lockdown are likely to whip the anti-lockdowners into a frenzy, which with a Bank Holiday looming is risky IMO. Don't get me wrong, I am as desperate for some normality as the next person, but to look at the headlines you would think it was going to be an end to lockdown from Monday, which I am sure will not be the case.

As much as I can't wait to be able to get back to work as the days/weeks go on I'm worried that I may not have a job to come back to , but I really hope the social distancing is adhered to . I'll be fuming if I go back to work and people that can and have been wfh are back in the office .
I'm in favour of the lockdown relaxing to get people back to work but businesses must enforce social distancing for this to work .
Like it's been mentioned already I honestly can't see anything drastic from Monday but hopefully it will be a plan of when things will change in the coming weeks.

The media is behaving very irresponsibly, speculating about lockdown easing yet reporting it almost as fact, especially before a Bank Holiday weekend when the weather forecast is good for Friday and Saturday. It will only encourage the covidiots, and living in a National Park which is normally swamped from April to October we're dreading it, as are our local little essential shops and mountain rescue volunteers.

Briefing tonight I'm sure will be completely dampening the irresponsible front page predictions. As someone in twitter said the press are reporting as if we will be able to 'lick strangers from Monday'
What I do find ironic is all the people who've been insisting it's fine to go out as much as you like to exercise etc aren't going to find much of a change from the sounds of it - mil said to dh when he read bits of the guardian 'they've already lifted the one exercise a day advice' which they haven't (whether legally it's allowed or not is another matter but the dept of health and gov uk still states just once a day unless medical reasons ) whereas those that have stick to the guidance will benefit from this being relaxed - if it is
I personally think it would be good if they should allow social bubbles specifically for those living alone or in couples though know it would be impossible to monitor but hate the idea of these bubbles selfishly. As much as you could choose not to be in one they'd be a lot of upset from competing grandparents etc
I think they'd be better to when the time is right give guidance on maximum numbers in small groups and advise to space out visits to other small groups or similar
I think these bubbles are probably more just to make it clear how much we need to limit social contact going forward

So far the past 2 weeks the karate of shops down the road from me has opened the chip shop, Chinese and sandwich shop.

Nothing has been done other than tape on the floors.

I'm assuming they could all open from the off and the guidelines to them weren't clear?

We've also had the council state all household waste centres will open Monday. This information is obviously being filtered to them.

It seems to me government is trying to open up places people can visit to slowly increase number of people out and about to see R number as opposed to saying restrictions are relaxed for fear it'll drive people out in mass crowds causing problems?

So it looks like the 5 phase plan has been completely rewritten since the draft that paws saw - how strange...

Peppafrig · 10/05/2020 22:07

Oh paws where are you ?

Mikki2019 · 10/05/2020 22:18

@Peppafrig Grin

SistemaAddict · 10/05/2020 22:18

Hiding under a new username I expect as she said she'd be changing it. She's not the only one who's claimed to have inside knowledge that turns out to be attention seeking nonsense. Sad really.

Peppafrig · 10/05/2020 23:13

I knew when she was asking people to PM her for some info it was all a lot of crap and it was just desperate attention seeking.

Daffodil101 · 11/05/2020 01:40

So Paws....

SophieB100 · 11/05/2020 07:27

Oh come on guys, you didn't for one minute think that someone had information on here no one else had? As if someone saw a document then rushed to a thread on this forum to share it?

Really?
They got what they wanted, a reaction.

Got to feel sorry for someone so desperate really.

Ipadipod · 11/05/2020 09:40

@Peppafrig I pm’d a question just to see what reply I got , I was asked what sector I worked in and received ‘that’s nice’ . So definitely someone on a windup or a journo.

bluemarie87 · 11/05/2020 21:43

I still believe she saw the Ireland plan and assumed more than likely we would have the same one so was edging her bets really with it being the same so if it did turn out that way she could say "see I did know".

Peppafrig · 11/05/2020 21:47

The amount of people on this thread just believing it blindly too . Oh well she will be named changed a few times since then and getting attention on another thread. Sad really .

bluemarie87 · 11/05/2020 21:50

People will believe anything that they want to believe unfortunately.
