.....Or accidentally released from a laboratory?

OP posts:
Devlesko · 04/05/2020 22:50

A chinese lab.

Lab or wet market, I just wish we would leave all these animals the fuck alone.

B1rdbra1n · 04/05/2020 22:53

It's so fishy
not to mention batty

Weedsnseeds1 · 04/05/2020 22:54

Wouldn't be the first time

BillywilliamV · 04/05/2020 22:55

Theyve done the RNA sequencing, its not manmade..

EmeraldShamrock · 04/05/2020 22:56

Deliberately released by a disgruntled employee. I believe their death toll is bullshit. Weather it was created to cull the weak or keep for a rainy day who knows.
It has ripped my world apart anyway. Fucking wankers.

HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 04/05/2020 22:58

There are other theories online that a lab worker sold the animals that they experimented on to the wet market to make extra cash

I could believe that.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 04/05/2020 22:58

The animal cruelty in this either way you look at it, upsets me and pisses me off beyond belief.
I hope if anything good comes of this it'll be animal welfare improving.

As to where it originated. I believe lab and I reckon the it came from chi-NA from trump was a thinly veiled dig at them.

chubbychipmonk · 04/05/2020 22:58

Released. . And not by accident

Whatdidisay · 04/05/2020 22:59

Lab, and I am not one to believe conspiracy theories.
Don't think it was deliberate though although It is strange that they controlled it so easily and it didn't spread to their major cities, yet has managed to bring the rest of the world to its knees!

KeepWashingThoseHands · 04/05/2020 22:59

@doublehalo

I'm not being goady but I do know what GOF studies are because I work in the field. A shit ton of things we know about cancer (and other diseases) and therefore it's treatment is from that type of study. There's so much fake news about and being proliferated that people believe it. I'm merely highlighting a GOF study in itself is not the issue.

Doesn't mean it did/didn't leak from that lab or spontaneously appear.

Tealwallpaper · 04/05/2020 23:01

Both. Fair enough of it’s been sequenced and is not ‘man made’
It could have been a natural virus they had samples of and accidently released. Being from a lab doesn’t necessarily mean it’s been manipulated in any way it could just have been being stored or researched in its original state

Devlesko · 04/05/2020 23:02

Billy

Who is "They"? Are "They" to be believed, independant researchers?

Zenithbear · 04/05/2020 23:04

Lab - in my opinion, possibly on purpose but more likely an accident.

But China should be forced to close the live animal markets anyway.
China can't be trusted whatever happened.

Cam77 · 04/05/2020 23:04

They didn’t control it easily. Yes they stopped the spread more efficiently than most of Europe, but they sacrificed more in doing so - harsher lockdown, mandatory face masks, longer lockdown period.

PeppersYellow · 04/05/2020 23:06

Think it was intended for germ warfare that got released accidently.

I 100% believe it came from the Wuhan lab. The only question in my mind is was it deliberately released or accidental? And I'm no conspiracy theorist in any way, shape or form.

Whatdidisay · 04/05/2020 23:08

Cam77
Yes they did but it still doesn't explain how it spread to every corner of the world but they contained it to a small part of China? They didn't lock down the whole country and the lock down in the affected towns were after it had spread world wide!

onlinelinda · 04/05/2020 23:11

Market or animal kingdom.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 04/05/2020 23:12

I think it’s a natural occurrence

But I wouldn’t be shocked if it was from a lab though accidental release

And I don’t believe China’s numbers

And the narrative around this subject has certainly changed in the last week

YourVagesty · 04/05/2020 23:14

Others on here are right. A month ago, it seemed unthinkable that this came from the lab, and now here we are...well, just read the responses on this thread.

So my question is what happens next? Because I doubt the world 's leaders will be like 'oh don't worry China, we all make mistakes.' I wonder what the future holds Confused

AldiAisleOfCrap · 04/05/2020 23:14

Lab accidentally.

swimlyn · 04/05/2020 23:16

They’ve done the RNA sequencing, its not manmade.

But the lab, just up the road, with known previous poor standards was specifically working on the bat viruses.

Don’t forget the last outbreak of Foot and Mouth in the UK was an accidental lab release.

If it looks like a duck…
