I've worked in big Pharma for years. I am 99% sure an effective vaccine will be produced this year. It's gonna happen, have faith in scientists. They will be working their butt off....

"Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla told The Wall Street Journal the company's COVID-19 vaccine could be ready for emergency distribution by the fall. The company could further be ready for a broader rollout by the end of the year, he added"

Fruit and vegetables aren't a great source of vitamin d.

drcb83 · 10/05/2020 15:45

Get your vit d levels tested. i have MS and a SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) that means that my enzyme that converts sunlight to vitD is less effective. There are strong links that this helped cause my MS and that these SNPs are present in lots of us (trials ongoing). So anyway - not taking vitD - you have no idea how well your enzyme works so just do it!

As regards giving convalesent plasma, it's still being trialled but the blood service has been advertising for people who have recovered to donate.

The link explains the process and who can donate.

Comparing vitamin D to turnips is pretty strange @pigletjohn, there are lots of studies showing that low vitamin D levels make the virus hit you harder.

@drcb83 I did order a vitamin d test a couple of days ago so I’m just awaiting it’s arrival. I sit outside in the sun and Just started to take supplements. Is 25ug supplements too much?

drcb83 · 10/05/2020 18:26

I take 125ug BioPearl but it is prescribed for me. I think anything over 100 is not advised (unless prescribed) so you shouldbe fine on 25ug :)

Xtinalee · 10/05/2020 23:16

Perfect. I also take quercetin complex (With water c plus), vitamin c 500mg, n-acetyl cysteine 600mg and zinc 25mg . All with a healthy diet. Am I over doing it? I know nothing about supplements I’m just sick of catching colds and illnesses

Xtinalee · 10/05/2020 23:17

@drcb83 not water I meant with ester c plus

drcb83 · 11/05/2020 06:42

All of those are under the max limit it seems so should be fine! Just make sure the form you take of things is Bio-available or it will have no effect and just pass through.

Xtinalee · 11/05/2020 10:37

@drcb83 how do I know if it’s bio available ?
