Public are being asked to not go there. Does anyone know what happened??

It's frightening particularly for the elderly and those with underlying conditions who live in hot spots. Will they get help if they need it for a non Covid emergency? I wish we'd set aside hospital space or a few smaller hospitals for this purpose. That would fit with my personal understanding of the NHS being, as we were repeatedly lied to told "extremely well equipped" to deal with a pandemic.

Cherrysoup · 04/04/2020 17:04

Northwick Park up the road from Watford Gen-also closed the other day then re-opened the next morning.

lilmishap · 04/04/2020 17:05

@DarnedSocks When were we told the NHS is well equipped?
I've been hearing the NHS is on a shoestring and bursting at the seams for decades

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 17:07

I never said it wasn't a pandemic. I never said it wasn't serious.
I did say that some posters scaremongering and SHOUTING and running around like Chicken Licken do more harm than good.
What is the point in trying to panic peole
So not sure why you're saying I think it's only a glitch.
You're ignoring what I'm saying whilst simultaneously putting words in my mouth,
Pretty impressive

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 17:07

people not peole

AllTheIceCream · 04/04/2020 17:10

insancerre "Won’t there be lots of oxygen in all those grounded planes?"

Planes don't actually carry oxygen as it could cause a fire if it leaked.
Those masks are attached to a package of chemicals that generates oxygen for a limited time when you start them off.

Chickydoo · 04/04/2020 17:10

No oxygen at all left.

Genderwitched · 04/04/2020 17:14

Wehttam

Posters like you are exacerbating this situation. What we need in a national emergency is calm. We all know what to do now, people that are not complying are people that wouldn't even if you shouted at them until you are blue in the face.

In my opinion you have been generating massive anxiety and stress amongst some posters and from now on I will be reporting any of your posts that are scaremongering. That post upthread was inexcusable.

bluebluezoo · 04/04/2020 17:14

Northwick Park declared a critical incident on 20th March.

We don’t know they’ve “run out” of oxygen. Just that there’s a technical issue with supply. Makes sense they’ll not be taking further patients while they fix it.

Tartyflette · 04/04/2020 17:16

Wehttam looks like it is in fact a technical problem, or, if you like, a glitch.

bluebluezoo · 04/04/2020 17:17

No oxygen at all left

Could you post your source please?

EricaNernie · 04/04/2020 17:17

they are full, same with Northwick Park Hospital recently

EricaNernie · 04/04/2020 17:17

stay at home
stay out of trouble.

CallmeAngelina · 04/04/2020 17:18

I think the issue at Watford is a technical one - something has broken, so assuming that it can be mended asap, it's not necessarily specifically due to Corona.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 17:22

No oxygen at all left

Do you have a source for that?

alloutoffucks · 04/04/2020 17:23

Drugs are used all the time for purposes that they are not licensed for. Follow up long trials sometimes show that a particular drug is not as effective as another one, or that a drug only helped a small number of people so is deemed to be too expensive to use. But using drugs in this way is routine and most of the side effects will already be known.

DarnedSocks · 04/04/2020 17:27

Have other countries run low on oxygen during this pandemic? Spain? Italy? How quick and easy is it to get hold of or manufacture more?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 04/04/2020 17:28

It says they are running low on oxygen

So they're running low - @Chickydoo claims none left as fact though.
Have a source for that, chicky?

MarginalGain · 04/04/2020 17:28

Madness.

Are critical incidents not pretty usual in the NHS? (meaning they probably need further refinement within their incident reporting).

I surrender 🏳️, please do feel free to report all future posts by me that you understand to be scaremongering. You won’t be the first and certainly won’t be the last, if it makes you feel better then please do go ahead, relish in clicking that Report button.

If I may be so bold to add, In my humble opinion you need to get off your high horse and understand that you won’t be able to silence me or those like me for trying to help people in such a horrible situation.

Thank you once again for the threat of reporting though, I’ll bear it in mind every time I click Post message. ✌🏼

Engineers are currently on site trying to increase oxygen capacity, it is understood

(The the indie link posted)

This suggests it’s the ability to deliver oxygen, not that they haven’t got any. Wards may be “running out” because of issues with supply.

At present though nobody knows whether it’s delivery or physical quantity. As usual it’s all conjecture- we’ll be seeing quotes from somebodys sister, who’s a nurse, anytime soon....

So, heard second hand from someone else? Not even heard by yourself?
That's not a source, then, is it?
You still felt the need to post it as fact.
