Is that in EastEnders?

I'm abroad....

jimmyhill · 04/04/2020 15:01

Presumably they've run out of beds or ventilators or ICU space

Sorry, read it as Walford

Otherwise no, no idea. Sorry.

Hospitals declare a critical incident when they don’t have enough capacity to take more patients. It doesn’t mean something specific has happened. It means the surrounding hospitals and the ambulance trust will be alerted and they’ll prepare to divert patients.

It’s not that uncommon, but it will be more newsworthy at the moment.

The can't take any more people into A&E at the moment. Presumably they're full.

Presumably we're about to see the Nightingale Hospital take on patients.

Beach11 · 04/04/2020 15:36

They have limited oxygen supplies left

Wehttam · 04/04/2020 15:42

The dam is about to burst is what this means.

EVERYONE STAY AT HOME!!!!!!!!

Lunawuna · 04/04/2020 15:45

The dam is about to burst is what this means.

FGS. Hospitals, especially those in cities, have critical incidents where they can't take any more patients all the time. All it takes is a bad car crash some times. Calm down.

PristineCondition · 04/04/2020 15:47

Will they move recovering people to nightingale or divert any new cases there?

My local hospital think they have till Monday at this current pace till they are full. Its all overwhelmingly horrific Sad

TheoriginalLEM · 04/04/2020 15:47

Fuck, the veterinary industry have been asked to minimise use of O2 (remember this is used in anaesthesia) in case the nhs need it. Looks like that may happen.

Wehttam · 04/04/2020 15:47

I hope you are right Luna

But I suspect I’m right here unfortunately 😕

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/04/2020 15:48

They don’t often run low on oxygen though Luna.

Silvercatowner · 04/04/2020 15:49

The dam is about to burst is what this means

Fucksake stop with the catastrophising. It isn't unknown for hospitals to close.

Wehttam · 04/04/2020 15:50

Silver get your head out of the sand, is this not a catastrophe to you?!

AmelieTaylor · 04/04/2020 15:50

@RafaIsTheKingOfClay

They don’t usually have a respiratory pandemic either

muddledmidget · 04/04/2020 15:51

Not enough oxygen to be able to supply to all the patients who need it via the hospital infrastructure, and a canister only lasts each patient 30 mins. They have literally reached capacity for the number of covid patients they can care for.

AmelieTaylor · 04/04/2020 15:52

@RafaIsTheKingOfClay. Sorry I see you were sort of saying the same thing 🌷

LavenderQuartz · 04/04/2020 15:52

sounds serious enough to me!

Skybluepink123 · 04/04/2020 15:52

They’re asking all emergency patients to go to other hospitals as they’ve run out of oxygen!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/04/2020 15:52

Fortunately LEM we’ve had a little more time to prepare as we know it happened in Italy and Spain.

AmelieTaylor · 04/04/2020 15:53

They have been worrying about the limited oxygen for a while now

Hancock promised it wouldn’t be a problem. - needs to get his finger out if his area and get this sorted.
