@Saucery That does seem wrong, but it is currently allowed under the rules. I think it's the rules that need to change, rather than individual behaviour.

The people who own the house may not want the responsibility of putting the tradesmen out of work, and it would be very hard for the tradesmen to decline the work not knowing when they would get more.

Gfplux · 03/04/2020 19:31

If you are over 75 and in a care home they have a plan for you!

Saucery · 03/04/2020 19:32

I know, but imagine being that householder or the family of that worker if they get it? The responsibility of their death.
Anyway, I’m filing it under none of my business now. Apart from the supermarket aspect, where they’ve potentially made it my business and my health Angry
That British Gas aren’t insisting on the same precautions as the heating/plumbing company we use is disgusting.

NettleTea thank you so much for posting that info about autogenic drainage. Will start practising ASAP.

VeniceBeach · 03/04/2020 19:34

Has anyone seen this story reported on the Guardian live feed: ‘Two families with children on the autism spectrum have launched a legal challenge against government rules banning people from leaving the house more than once a day’.

I’m under the impression that there is no law that actually prevents people from going out more than once - but surely the solicitor’s firm would know that!

Thanks for thread

Thank you for that, but thankfully I really do appear to be on the mend. The mucus kept coming back and I had to keep on coughing and puking it out, and thinning it through various means like using decongestants like oltrivine and humidity (hot baths and showers and sitting in the bathroom with a hot shower running.

As a result of all the coughing and puking, I now have horrible chest pain from muscular damage in my chest from it all. I swallowed quite a lot of the mucus too, and, probably as a result of that, I've had 2 weeks of nausea to cope with too.

But now my chest and airways are clear, I was finally examined by a doctor 3 weeks in, has blood tests and X-rays, and I've been told that I had a secondary infection that is the reason for the puking, probably because of swallowing the mucus.

So I've come through it, and hopefully now it really is coming to an end.

SansaSnark · 03/04/2020 19:48

@Mittens030869 So glad to hear you are getting through it!

@VeniceBeach Yeah, I think you can get out twice a day under the rules at least- once for shopping, once for exercise. Also, if their children have autism, then they may have ECHPs and be able to go to school. I'm sure it is tough for them but how much tougher will it be if they or their children end up in hospital.

A friend of mine suggested earlier we show a video of someone being intubated before the "stay at home" ads. Might make people take it a bit more seriously.

Bessica1970 · 03/04/2020 19:50

The families of the autistic children are being silly imo. Assuming their condition is serious they will have an EHCP which means they can still go to school if they choose to. If they’re choosing not to but complaining about not being able to go out then they’re being unreasonable.

Quartz2208 · 03/04/2020 19:54

I was just reading about the changes to the Care Act and Mental Health Act but the CV Act - its quite interesting and slightly scary

I mean I know with the Mental Health Act it is to do with the fact that doctors will be deployed elsewhere and it might take longer to assess but it is still disconcerting

Remember that massive blip a few weeks ago when China changed its reporting criteria? Look how tiny it looks now ☹️

Worried About Coronavirus- thread 36
Quartz2208 · 03/04/2020 19:58

what was the change in criteria though cos looking back that could be where Chinas numbers are different

How did they report deaths - from it or with it? Because most european countries do both dont they?

mumoftwodc · 03/04/2020 19:58

@OhDearWhyAmIFatterly I too have been following the thread from the early days. I wonder how @ofwarren is doing and @GPwife2411 too?

IronNeonClasp · 03/04/2020 20:01

Thanks for the new thread Starry

@NettleTea thank you.

ofwarren · 03/04/2020 20:02

I'm doing ok @mumoftwodc
Day 11 of suspected coronavirus now.
I managed a bath today but I'm still very weak and shaky.
Burning pain in back and chest but my oxygen levels are totally normal.
I'm definitely getting better.
Thank you for asking Wink

mumoftwodc · 03/04/2020 20:17

@ofwarren that's great news to hear you are on the mend. I saw a post a few days back I think (I'm still working and it's sometimes hard to read back on all the thread). I hope the rest of your family are okay, especially your son.

justchecking1 · 03/04/2020 20:23

Quartz "The spike observed on Feb. 12 is the result, for the most part, of a change in diagnosis classification for which 13,332 clinically (rather than laboratory) confirmed cases were all reported as new cases on Feb. 12, even though they were diagnosed in the preceding days and weeks."

HeIenaDove · 03/04/2020 20:44

I know this is trivial in the scheme of things but i started a thread about it because i needed a rant.

Professor on Channel 4 said we are only 5 percent through this.

OhDearWhyAmIFatterly · 03/04/2020 20:55

@mumoftwodc and @ofwarren
Thanks for that. It does seem a different crowd now. Not that it's not still good! But I think becasue we have been discussing this for around 7 weeks it's not a surprise for us....
I hope. You feel better soon @ofwarren xxx

WhyNotMe40 · 03/04/2020 20:57
