Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

Keep in touch @longshot your time line will be so helpful to others. So glad you feel you are over this.

Im around the same time as you and my chest seems to be easing a little in the last few days.

@Casino218 I'm really hesitant to take any pain relief for fear of masking something.

Gentle paperwork in bed this morning is a breakthrough.

ofwarren · 01/04/2020 12:05

Thank you Courtney your post gives me hope.
Day 9 and I'm finally downstairs.
My husband rang my son's liver transplant consultant and they said hopefully we are not infectious now but to keep an eye on my son because to be honest, nobody really knows for certain.
I'm weak, tired, breathless and have pain in my back but today feels like a big achievement.

TheDrsWife46 · 01/04/2020 12:08

Im not scanning the thread because Im worried i’ll make myself anxious again. But just to say day 10! And im in the bath! Im in the bath!!!!

GemmaTellerMorrow · 01/04/2020 12:10

Hi all. Has anyone had a feeling of their eyes being warm/hot?

I've had a slight cough but otherwise feel okay, no fever or anything. For about five days I've had the sensation of my eyes feeling hot but they aren't red to look at and they don't seem particularly dry.

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 12:11

@user34254356 . Yes I found that reassuring too. The medics insisted the first day I got my temperature was probably day one even though I was then ok for a couple of days so they said that in their opinion the danger time would be passed for me .. so I’m hoping that’s true . I didn’t feel I’ll as such yesterday .. just exhausted and breathless but today I feel hot and groggy now.. it’s the virus that just doesn’t know when it’s time to bugger off ! Grin

LaneBoy · 01/04/2020 12:15

Yes gemma DS and I both had that

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 01/04/2020 12:16

GemmaTellerMorrow my eyes haven't been hot but were watering for a while here and there.

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 12:18

@GemmaTellerMorrow yes burny eyes seems to be another symptom

ofwarren · 01/04/2020 12:19

Well done TheDrsWife!!
I've not been that brave.
Do you feel light headed? That's what I'm worried about with the bath.

Littleninja1 · 01/04/2020 12:22

Best wishes @longshot. Thanks for all the help you've given over this weird few weeks and lots of luck finding work.

I'm also leaving this thread now. I found the first two and a half threads a total lifeline through a very scary time. I've been quite frustrated with it since then and so going to check out. Best of luck everyone, and especially those who've been there throughout and given so much to new posters, looking at you two @Casino218 and @tangledyarn

Xx

GemmaTellerMorrow · 01/04/2020 12:29

Thank you. I wasn't sure if I'd been online too long and that's what made my eyes feel hot.
I feel very "aware" of my body at the moment in a way that I don't normally.

CourtneyB123 · 01/04/2020 12:33

Yeah I keep feeling bit sick here and there, I just keep trying to eat, I didnt eat last week for 5 days I dont know if anyone else suffered from loss of apetite? I'm glad I can provide some reassurance, the brain fog has gone also i actually feel present not a million miles away. You're all doing an amazing job, or bodies are stronger than we know

alittleprivacy · 01/04/2020 12:39

Do you feel light headed? That's what I'm worried about with the bath.

Have people had problems with baths? I took two baths while I've had symptoms and after the initial relief of my chest pain in the water, after a while I had a sudden desperate urge to get out or I'd be sick. And as soon as I did I felt absolutely dreadful. My temperature shot up to 38.1 on both occasions. My head was absolutely pounding like my blood pressure was sky high. I was seriously light headed, the room was spinning and I had to lie down for about half an hour because I thought I'd be sick.

That said, on each occasion my symptoms eased off quite a lot after the bath. After the first one my more fluey symptoms like headache, foggy headedness and muscle aches didn't come back at all.

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 12:45

I don’t know if this is any help but when the medics came to mind they detailed all the symptoms that people they’ve been going out to seemed to be getting. It’s clear this is no ordinary virus.. it’s certainly not like flu ! Some people might just think they’ve had an awful cold but it seems that in a lot of cases you get all these bizarre and frightening symptoms that wax and wane over a period of time . Despite Diarrhoea being listed as rare .. the medics said a lot if people with this virus complained of that symptom .
They said symptoms reported to them on call outs apart from the obvious breathlessness are

Sore throat (sometimes very mild)
Cough (sometimes very mild )
Nasal congestion
Painful sinuses
Lethargy
Fatigue
Headaches
Nausea
Loose bowels
Feeling bloated
Heartburn
Chills
Hot flushes and sweating
Uncontrollable shaking
Fluctuations in temperature. This was the most common one they saw and said a low grade fever on and off seemed to point to covid 19
Feeling of swollen glands in neck
Sore eyes
Tender kidneys (they asked me if I was weeing ok etc as virus can in extreme cases cause kidney failure )
Tight band feeling round chest along bra line
Back pain
Very painful and sore ribs
Grating sensation in lungs
Burning lung pain
I was too shattered to type all this yesterday but hope that helps .. the medics were absolutely lovely and were here for about an hour or so .. I got the impression that 99 per cent of they’re calls are covid 19 related now

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 12:48

@littleninja1 Lots of love and thanks for all your support too x Best of luck for the rest of your recovery Flowers

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 12:50

@alittleprivacy I found it relaxing in the bath but keep the water warm as opposed to hot .. Ive struggles to find the energy for showers but had one the other day and although I felt better after it I also felt exhausted

Lightsabre · 01/04/2020 12:52

jakesmommy, yes, that's how I started about 10 days ago but temperature started on Friday and breathlessness/back pain. I'm so dizzy too and weak - trying to eat a few bits but have lost appetite and taste/smell. No cough though other than a few tickles yesterday. Just awaiting GP call back (not sure what they can do but feel like I need to do something).

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 12:58

@TheDrsWife46 Enjoy your Bath !

Casino218 · 01/04/2020 13:05

@Littleninja1 all the best. Thanks for your ongoing support and take care. X

I would suggest that anyone with no appetite keep eating. I normally advocate eating when hungry rather than according to the time. But I lost my appetite completely for the first week or so and I noticed early on that I'd feel worse if I forgot to eat. So I strictly started eating 3 meals by the clock. I could eat and taste but I didn't really get my normal pleasure from food but I just made sure I was still eating decent food. Even if I didn't really feel hungry and I hadn't eaten, I'd at least make myself have a banana or something, just to give my body energy to fight this thing.

user34254356 · 01/04/2020 13:16

anyone have no fever for a few days and started to get burning eyes and chills? bit worried as been feeling feverish for the last few hours and wondering if i have relapsed..

Standrewsschool · 01/04/2020 13:18

I didn’t completely loose my appetite, but struggled to eat normal size meals. Brought some magnums and ended throwing one away as couldn’t finish it (what a waste). Also, wanted fresh tasting stuff such as fruit juice and calippos - reminded me a little of early days of pregnancy .fortunately, taste buds have now returned to normal, and appetite now improved.

user34254356 · 01/04/2020 13:32

@Littleninja1 all the best and hope you have a speedy recovery. Please do drop in with an update every now and then to give the rest of us some hope!

user34254356 · 01/04/2020 13:34

@ofwarren hope your son doesn't catch the infection. Did they say you are probably not infectious anymore?

Great news that you have managed to make it out of your isolation room.

ofwarren · 01/04/2020 13:39

Yes @user34254356 they said it should be ok but obviously we don't know for certain.
It's been so hard keeping a 4 year old in one room with me for 8 days, especially when he can hear his brother downstairs. He's still coughing but it's phlegmy. He was hardly ill at all to be honest.
We will just have to wait and see I suppose.
