Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

Checking in. Felt massively better this weekend (days 15/16) but then flushed cheeks and breathlessness came back last night. Filled out an online consultation last night and GP called me back this morning. Described symptoms from the start to him and a) he doesn’t think it’s CV and b) he thinks I’ve had another type of virus that’s taking a while to clear - that the breathlessness isn’t something I need to worry about at the moment unless it worsens. Slightly heartened to bear not CV but on the flip side was hoping I’d had a very mild case. Going to make sure I’m 100% better before next heading out to shop as don’t want CV on top of this virus. Wishing you all well soon

Thanks for the new thread casino218
Love the disclaimer re testing!

Would it be fair to say that although it is very frightening at times and very up and down we all continue to improve? I do wish there was more information out there on recovery at this stage.

My GP friend messaged yesterday to say it sounds like I'm over the worst on day 19 but put a question mark on the end. Confused

SchrodingersKitty · 30/03/2020 12:00

@Cary2012: your friend with the virus early could be me (mid-50s, constant chest infections, history of pneumonia, etc). So your post was reassuring apart from the horror of the description 'older lady'!!

I'm now on day 20. Found it harder to get to sleep last night, and wheezy cough is still there but really not feeling terrible. Up to try and run a live online class for one of my undergraduate classes. Not sure how that's going to go!

littleblackdress04 · 30/03/2020 12:02

Hi everyone! Just saying hi - day 8/9 here and was feeling loads better so did some gentle exercise in the hope of shifting some gunk from my lungs- now getting pain so feel like it was a bloody silly thing to do 🙈 I just thought extra oxygen might help! My mood is better though- only did 10 mins of light stuff!

Moonbaby321 · 30/03/2020 12:04

Hi Corona Club!

How is everyone? I have some catching up to do reading the threads.

I felt tired but so much better over the weekend and have even attempted some washing and tidying (well away from everyone and wearing disposable gloves) but just sat down to fill in the business form and my god the palpitations are horrendous! It's so scary! My heart feels like it's beating out of my chest here

user34254356 · 30/03/2020 12:04

thank you @casino and @porcupineinwaiting.

I haven't been doing my salt water gargles. Will restart.

The pleghm isn't coming out so hard to comment on the colour but little bit that did was white. I have yellow 3 days ago. I do have reflux issues so the white may be consistent with that.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 12:05

@SchrodingersKitty what field are you in ?

OP posts:
stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 12:05

@littleblackdress04 I made that mistake.

Definitely for me at this stage symptoms are controlled by rest, water, heat, vitamin c and distraction.

user34254356 · 30/03/2020 12:06

@Moonbaby321 the palpitations and racy heart beat stress me out the most. I have been having similar right after any little activity. please don't overdo it.

Is there any medical explanation for this btw?

stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 12:07

@SchrodingersKitty DD is currently partaking in an online lecture.

It could be you!

SchrodingersKitty · 30/03/2020 12:08

@Casino218: that's a bit identifying given that I haven't name-changed. A humanities subject. Are you an academic too?

SchrodingersKitty · 30/03/2020 12:10

@stayathomegardener: nah - mine is this afternoon! I'll try and stay off mumsnet for the duration.

mymoonmyman2020 · 30/03/2020 12:14

@Moonbaby321and @user34254356 - I have this raging heart and also hot flushes (not menopausal!!) when I attempt to do basically anything (a telephone call, pottering for a few minutes, writing a couple of emails). I’m literally just lying in bed but hope to do slightly more in next few days.

Anyone have any insights into the heart racing thing?

Gogoberry · 30/03/2020 12:14

Corona Club is not a place I wanted to be, but it is lovely to read all of the support strangers are giving each other. Flowers

I’m on day 2 of feeling pants. Cough started this morning. Horrible sore throat like I’ve swallowed sand. Temperature. Sinus pressure. For anyone much further on from day 2 how much worse did it get for you?

I have spoken to GP because I have other health conditions not because I’m worried about my symptoms. She was reassuring and said it sounded like a mild case if it was coronavirus at all. Told me to call back if at any point it feels much worse or I get any breathing difficulties.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 12:23

@SchrodingersKitty yes me too- a health faculty 😁

stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 12:23

Hi gogoberry I'm sorry you are feeling unwell.

There are three previous threads which chart the development day by day of many posters, I think you would find them really informative.

Called my lungs are burning/on fire or similar. Really must remember how to do links!
Everyone is different and hopefully you have a mild case.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 12:30

@Gogoberry I think my cough carried on for quite a few days, I became more lethargic, then had chest tightness and pains but no infection, no particular temp. Many people don't get the chest thing. Half my problem was just the fear of the unknown and worry probably played a big part in it. Two weeks on we have more information.

MrsLeclerc · 30/03/2020 12:31

Spoke to GP after a weekend of chest pain (burning, tight and heavy) and he’s said it’s more than likely Covid and to self isolate for 3/4 days from rest of the household.

I’d been feeling unwell with flu symptoms for at least 3 weeks before all this. It’s a bit of a shock. I thought it was the remnants of that illness.

I have a toddler and am already in tears that I won’t be able to see him. I haven’t told my parents yet and I know they’ll be beside themselves with worry.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 12:35

@MrsLeclerc sorry to hear that but it's a much shorter time than the 7 days. In reality if you have felt ill for that long the likelihood is you won't be infectious now anyway. But he's the medic and I'm not- it's just an opinion.

TheWooisStrong · 30/03/2020 12:46

Yuck, overdid it again. Baking with children, home school, bit of tidying. And I’m now back on the sofa dizzy with a headache, tickly cough back too.
Husband taken them over the field for their daily exercise walk/run around so I can nap. The TV all afternoon I think.

longshot · 30/03/2020 12:46

Sorry I realise that is really long but I hope useful for some people in earlier stages...also I realise I must be getting a bit better as I couldn't have dreamt of composing that a couple of days ago!

TheWooisStrong · 30/03/2020 12:47

@longshot I’m a day behind you. Cant believe we are coming up 3 weeks ill with this.

longshot · 30/03/2020 12:48

@TheWooisStrong the key is recognising when you feel a tiny bit 'wrong' and stopping then...I am the same as you, having to force myself to rest but I can now see it is working!

MrsLeclerc · 30/03/2020 12:49

@Casino218 thank you. He said as i’d had symptoms Fri/over the weekend that to do the isolation for 3/4 days.

DH said that if they were going to catch it they probably would have by now.
