Oh there you go! I’ve stopped listening atm

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 11:26

And in spain the far right will finding plenty of scapegoats - already some blaming catalan speakers i believe

Horehound · 26/03/2020 11:30

@Bluntness100 yeh so USA for yesterday now say 13,355

Quartz2208 · 26/03/2020 11:33

@ofwarren I hope you are ok. I know you are seriously worried about your child so hope you all stay safe.

If posting on here helps please do so

ofwarren · 26/03/2020 11:38

Thanks @Quartz2208
My husband just rang the liver unit and they said we are doing everything right and a child with a liver transplant has already contracted the virus and survived.

EveLevine · 26/03/2020 11:44

Dreading the Welsh figures today, between the rugby and the phonics gigs I think we are going to see a massive rise in numbers this weekend.

The Gwent has already had the first death of a patient who caught it while in hospital :(

@ofwarren hope you are ok. Is it possible for you to isolate away from your dc?

Bluntness100 · 26/03/2020 11:45

Yes, the states in terms of deaths flat lined. I don’t think anyone is saying the peak is now or yesterday, as posted on the other thread, I think people are misreading that,

ofwarren · 26/03/2020 11:46

Yes @EveLevine
We have 2 bathrooms so me and my other child who is coughing are living upstairs for the foreseeable and my husband is on the sofa downstairs with my liver child on a mattress on the floor.

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 11:49

Rowena Mason - 'No 10 says mortality rates were lower yesterday because it is a “crossover day” as the way we report coronavirus deaths is changing - no clarity on why or how yet.'

LizzieMacQueen · 26/03/2020 11:51

Ah @Angryrant55 so following Germany's method of reporting. I did wonder that.

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 11:55

Local chemist now card only - my mum went to pick up more dressings for me and saw people without a card going home empty handed.

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 11:58

And no sign of people being rushed through cards or easy access to bank accounts for those without one.

riotlady · 26/03/2020 11:59

Just seen this tweet linked by The Guardian-apparently they’re requiring families consent before adding people to the death stastics?

azaleanth90 · 26/03/2020 12:01

I've seen some stuff on social media about deaths being underreported because relatives' permission has to be given - does anyone know about this? Are the deaths figures reliable?

Horehound · 26/03/2020 12:07

But it's just stays so why would they need permission. It doesn't make any sense...
So I think it can't be true.

Horehound · 26/03/2020 12:08

*stats

Horehound · 26/03/2020 12:08

Like I can't imagine they are contacting all families in italy, Spain, USA or Iran.
It's not a thing.

CricketCrocket · 26/03/2020 12:08

It makes sense if they’re trying to hide the true scale of it. Probably Cumming’s idea.

I don’t think it’s true. Haven’t read link though will later

Horehound · 26/03/2020 12:12

Yes. Probably

NettleTea · 26/03/2020 12:13

so Im relieved today that what I was terrified was the start of the infection yesterday turned out to be a nasty bout of cystitis this morning. Still horrible, but dealable with. Have urine dip sticks which confirmed and straight onto the standby antibiotics my dr gave me last time (I get it bad)
FFS Im only just finished the 2 weeks of 4 x dose antibiotics for cellulitis.

defthand · 26/03/2020 12:18

Something odd is going on with the death stats. Mixed messages from the media — they got overwhelmed and had to cut off reporting 6 hours early, they have to get permission from the families now, they might be changing the methodology (counting less that had underlying illnesses?).

Whatever the truth, it’s a bad look. Transparency from the government at his time has been lacking. I’m also concerned our new case reporting is capped by our testing capacity at the moment.

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 12:19

John Rentoul - 'Rising approval of government’s handling of coronavirus: new poll from Opinium.'

TheCanterburyWhales · 26/03/2020 12:24

That 20 critical showed that for about a week- it never changed, to the point I thought it meant % of total. Which obviously it didn't, Worldometer just wasn't getting the updated stats.
