@AsMuch
Due to weekend before last and last weekend; Stereophonics concert in Cardiff, Cheltenham races, two marathons following weekend mountain and beach visits. Imagine the rates of infection, people taking it back to their loved ones, the super-spreaders and people still going into work.

That is why ..

IronNeonClasp · 26/03/2020 09:25

Just to add and in my very humble opinion the Stereophonics and all of those organisers have blood on their hands..

AsMuchUseAsAMarzipanDildo · 26/03/2020 09:32

South Wales seems to be disproportionately affected. Pure speculation warning: I wonder how much the Cardiff concerts and Cheltenham have to do with that?

@ofwarren I started over 3 weeks ago with a tight chest, slight dry cough, and sore throat. I've had a fever on and off. I had 9 days of headache with 7 of those being severe and feeling like my head would shatter if I moved it. I'm left with a tight chest and occasional cough and slightly raised temperature. The first week I was very tired and spent most of it on the sofa, falling asleep on the first day. I never nap. I'm still tired but then I always am as have chronic pain for which I take opioids, single mum of 3 with no respite from anything now. I look forward to bedtime!

We won’t find out the truth until years later because they don’t want mass panic.

They want people back at work. They are willing to sacrifice the vulnerable as long as the figures can be massaged to their satisfaction

Tokyo governor last night warning of an explosion of cases in the city, asking people to stay at home at the weekend. I will be interested to see how strictly that's adhered to compared to similar requests in Europe. Also curious whether their approach to testing will change now the Olympic Games have been officially postponed.

ofwarren · 26/03/2020 09:42

Omg @Bercows that is an absolute nightmare. It's lasting for a long time too for you.
I'm glad it seems to be improved a little and I hope your kids stay well ❤️

woodencoffeetable · 26/03/2020 09:44

on a positive side, my parents are out of quarantine after returning from italy and mum went shopping with a welding mask.
I shouldn't love at that image, I admire them for taking it seriously. but my mum looks nothing like alex from flashdance...

namechangemania · 26/03/2020 09:47

Lewis Capaldi played in Wembley on 12th March also. An acquaintance posted a photo of a packed stadium on her social media and she works for the NHS, thought she’d have known better tbh

woodencoffeetable · 26/03/2020 09:47

*shouldn't laugh

@AsMuchUseAsAMarzipanDildo
Yesterday's figures were not for a full 24 hrs hence the lower number of deaths.
If you look at the number of Critical cases there was a huge increase from 20 to over a hundred.

Quartz2208 · 26/03/2020 10:19

Presumably though if yesterdays werent a full 24 hours those before were for more so actually the figures have remained quite static for 4 days?

MarshaBradyo · 26/03/2020 10:21

Ha Chris Whitty been seen lately? How likely is it that ride over the refusal to use antibody test if inaccurate.

Alwayscheerful · 26/03/2020 10:21

The tab is on yesterday's figures the day before critical cases were 20.

Japan has shut some shops in Tokyo today I think.

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 10:44

Japanese culture is quite obedient so don't think it be hard to get most to follow it.

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 10:46

Chris Smyth - 'Death figures update: last night only 28 new fatalities recorded.
Alas this is not good news, it is because there are now so many deaths NHS using a 7.30am cut off instead of 1pm.
So govt looking at changing how they are reported 1/2'

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 10:46

Chris Smyth - 'We may not get any death figures today, as they are looking at moving to publishing first thing in the morning.

Aim is to give more time to collate NHS data and inform families before ages and locations made public 2/2'

Quartz2208 · 26/03/2020 10:46

I suspect Chris Whitty is letting Jenny Harries do it because she is very reassuring

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 10:47

Sky News Breaking - 'The number of COVID-19 cases in Spain has risen to 56,188 from the 47,610 recorded yesterday and the number of coronavirus patients who have died has risen to 4,089 from 3,434.

IronNeonClasp · 26/03/2020 10:57

Fuck @AngryRant Sad

IronNeonClasp · 26/03/2020 10:58

Sorry I should have added to my post - factor in 5-14 day incubation and you have your infection crisis. Extremely morbid but unfortunately fact

Horehound · 26/03/2020 11:02

Angryrant55 · 26/03/2020 11:10
