Just interested to see what is happening in different areas around the UK right now. From high coronavirus areas to low coronavirus areas.

Even if I stay at home I could still get it.
I live in a block of flats on a housing Estate

Me too. We've been keeping the communal areas extra clean - a few don't bother but right now those of us who do are just getting on with it, because you have to. We also have to take our bins out to the communal ones. Just make sure you don't touch your face before you get back to your flat and wash your hands well when you do.

You'll be able to get your transfer when this is all over, and I think a lot of us we're already seeing the changes we hope to make in our lives when it is. All of us want it to be done with asap but we're at the very beginning of a long road. If we all do what's asked of us, the road might not be as long as if we don't.

@QuimJongUn No you don't have to do a home swap or exchange if you want a flat from Anckor.
I phoned them up last Friday.
They said I just have to apply for a flat and they put me on a waiting list depending on what area I want to go to.
Then I get 3 offers and if I turn down all 3 they take me off of their list.
But there is no house exchange or having to go on the Internet with them.

People here have advised me to stay at home.
And I know by going out I do risk catching the virus.
I am not sure if me having the cold or flu which I still have but am getting better is putting me at higher risk of getting it or not.

Maybe this so called cold is Coronavirus as they say not all people have a cough or are unable to breath.
And the symptoms of Covid19 are simular to that of colds and flu.

But I don't know because the NHS won't give me a blood or swab test for it.
So how do I or anybody else know if I have got it or not?
How can I find out?
The answer is I can't and neither can anyone else who has a cold or flu.

If the NHS would just give everyone the blood test or it would help because if we knew if we are or not got Cobid19 we would know where we stood.

Even if I did have it self isolation would be impossible because I have no one who will go out and get food for me.
Online grocerys are no only for people over 70.
I got an email from sainsburs and the other online supermarkets have got no delivery slots.
So the only option is to go to the shops to get food.

So not only does the NHS have to test everyone, it should provide care such as a special medical center for those tested posetive for Covid 19 who either have the virus or are carriers with no symptoms who are unable to self isolatre.
Because they are in the same situation as me with no one to look after them at home or bring their food to them.

But you know the NHS is tight fisted and does not want to spend the money. In the USA people can have a test for Covid 19 if they want but not here.

Another thing I want to point out is that if I did get the Coronavirus and I were to suffer the full blow severe symptoms such as being unable to breath. I am alone here with no one to call an ambulance and get me to hospital if I collapsed unconscious and was too ill to call 999 for help.
I mean I could come down with it and die in my flat and no one would know. The neighbors are not the kind who keep in touch with each other and go in each overs homes. Some of them won't even speak to you.

ShockShockShock

ShanghaiDiva · 22/03/2020 08:21

FFS
What do you think the NHS is saving all the money for? Are they waiting Until a real crisis comes along.....???

VivaLeBeaver · 22/03/2020 08:24

I could do with going to b&q to buy some paint and finally paint living room now I have time. My brother says I’m fine to go. Keep 2m away from people, don’t hang about. Hand gel on hands once I leave.

I’m in two minds.

Am certainly not socialising.

VivaLeBeaver · 22/03/2020 08:25

The local stove shop are having an open day this weekend. Reps from the different firms demonstrating their stoves. BBQ demo, free food and drink. They put up a fb post today. I was tempted to add a social distancing meme.

Enough4me · 22/03/2020 08:32

I'm SI with suspected Covid19, I don't blame the NHS that a HCP hasn't been out personally to test me. They need their resources in hospitals where the really sick are having to go and many will die. They are not being tested themselves and should be.

The NHS staff are not tight fisted, they are the ones working hard to save lives.

Doodledoom · 22/03/2020 08:43

West Midlands - partner has to work as the factory he's in is essential to keeping the NHS going. But the toddlers and I are at home isolating.

I will be having a neighbours disabled daughter for her at whilst she works as she is a key worker but she doesn't want her vulnerable child in school.

Her daughter isn't going anywhere other than to mine and her home so contact to the outside world as limited as possible.

I take the dog for a walk in the evening when there's no one out to get a break from the toddlers and being stuck in side. Though not sure how long the dog will be getting walked, as no cases in our town yet, but once we start getting outbreaks, the dog will be limited to the garden for exercise.

Assuming you’re joking?
If not, 🤯
You’re esteemed brother, a virologist is he?

LeniSpring · 22/03/2020 10:32

Haringey. Fresh air and exercise encouraged on council website.

Nononoandno · 22/03/2020 10:32

I’m Derbyshire, and out walking very early as very remote where I am, just driven to a local farm where they sell eggs by the entrance and have an honesty box (I’ve used many times before) there was a sign up “sorry no eggs as they have been stolen along with the honesty box”.... what scum bags!! I hope effing Covid 19 gets them

QuimJongUn · 22/03/2020 15:01

You’re esteemed brother, a virologist is he?

If he is, he's a shit one.

SidsWife · 22/03/2020 15:05

South west. Key worker so I’m out quite a bit. Although thankfully, I live behind a holiday park that’s just closed so me and the kids are jumping the fence and riding our bikes round there as it’s deserted and we’re the only humans around.

BuzzingtheBee · 22/03/2020 15:07

I’m still seeing adverts for beauty salons saying they are still open... I get its tricky for them and other small business but we all need to be social distancing. The government will put us into lockdown... then your foofoo will be hairy for llonger🤪

DareToEatAPeach · 22/03/2020 15:12

Midlands.

Going out twice a day to walk the dog somewhere quiet. Occassionally going to the local shop. That's it.

DryIce · 22/03/2020 15:46

This thread, seriously. We're all fucked. The idea that some people are getting their essential waxing done, or bleating that Boris is taking away their freedom (and I hate Boris!) just blows my mind.

Hope the critical care workers are impressed with your flawless vag in a few weeks!

But no, it's never actually people like you that this affects so you'll probably whine til your dying day about the c19 hysteria.

Just sucks for all the extra old and vulnerable people that didn't need to die this time around! But hey ho, at last you had your precious freedom (and pedicure)

kayakingmum · 22/03/2020 15:52

I've been out twice today :) one paddle in my kayak first thing. Saw very few people - but lots of birds which was lovely. At lunch time I went for a paddle in the canoe with my partner, daughter, son and some friends who were in another canoe - a reasonable distance away. A few more people out and about but definitely fewer than usual.

Live in a town in the East of England .

JewelTheft · 22/03/2020 15:55

South east, have barely been out since tues, this morning we went on a family walk (me, DH and 2 DC), through woods and quiet roads only - saw one person we knew and said hello from a distance. We wont be going to shops until we absolutely have to. Both working from home now, non key workers so kids home too.

Nononoandno · 22/03/2020 16:00

Just spoke to my hairdresser friend, they want Boris to say they should close so then they will get the same help as other businesses are, until then they can’t afford to close, they are low paid as it is.

NorthernSpirit · 22/03/2020 16:11

Greater London.

As per government guidelines - as a household we are social distancing.

Isolation is for those who have symptoms. No symptoms here.

GoofyIsACow · 22/03/2020 16:20

Cumbria here, the police are posting desperate pleas because the area is heaving!
I’m getting more angry by the minute!

fungster · 22/03/2020 16:22

Not in the UK (Midwest USA) kids' schools closed a week before schools in England. We are not going out unless it's to walk the dog. WFH and not allowing the kids to play with neighbors. Gyms, restaurants, etc, all closed.

People in my state are taking this more seriously than people in the UK, from what I've seen on MN. The idea of going for a pedicure makes my head spin to be honest. How stupid are you?

IStressheadI · 22/03/2020 16:27

I haven't been out since the 14th.
We have always gotten our shopping delivered so that's no different for us except all the slots are being taken. We cannot get to a big shop or afford to stock up, so that's a bit of a worry.

None of us are sick, but we don't want to risk catching it and passing it on to someone vulnerable.

At this point, people should be acting as though they are infected, even if they dont think they are.
I am disgusted by people acting as though it's no big deal, they're either thick or in denial at this point.

UYScuti · 22/03/2020 16:53

I went running (alone) the area was much quieter than normal and everyone keeping a distance, everything seemed completely in order and appropriate to me
