Because we are too rebellious. I cannot envisage people staying indoors for any length of time

OP posts:

I'm not going to link - it was covered extensively at the time.

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:22

Jesus Christ it's like talking to toddlers.

Hopeisnotastrategy · 15/03/2020 22:22

@Alsohuman I couldn’t agree more.

Never asked you to. It is complete bollocks anyway, completely unworkable even if true.

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:23

Are ye actually that thick that you can't comprehend why the legislation was introduced or are you being obtuse in order to get me to suggest another reason for it?

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:24

It is complete bollocks anyway, completely unworkable even if true. It prevented the dude leaving the wirral while he was in quarantine. It only happened a few weeks ago - why don't any of you remember this?

todayisnottuesday · 15/03/2020 22:26

Pretty sure it's not me looking thick here. Or racist.

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:29

What happened was about a month ago, maybe 5-6 weeks ago (can't remember exactly how long ago), the first real ISSUE with corona became apparent. A whole flight lot of Brits were flown home from China and put into quarantine in a place called the Wirral. They were supposed to be contained there for 14 days.

Clearly, someone among them wanted to leave and tried to leave. They discovered that they had no powers to detain him/her. So emergency legislation was introduced the next day to ensure that there were powers to contain him/her.

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:30

Racist? Pmsl. That's a good one!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 15/03/2020 22:31

Is this for me or someone else?
I can understand the reasons for this legislation if they are the right ones. But you miss my point entirely.
Im not going to start calling you thick because you are not seeing any alternative viewpoints.
Go back through English legal history and i think you will find pushing legislation through very often has an entirely different motive than the stated purpose. Example: the legislation that quite rightly lead to the abolition of slavery.
Im probably best ducking out this thread as im a bugger for going off on tangents. Apologies 😂

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 15/03/2020 22:33

One last note, calling someone else thick doesnt increase your own IQ by the way Smile

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:34

Oh yes. Slavery and coronavirus. Clearly very linked topics.

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:35

You can't increase your IQ. It is what it is. High in my case. Low in yours.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 15/03/2020 22:36

in a place called the Wirral

Jesus fucking Christ that's like saying "In a place called Surrey.
I remember exactly when because it was highly relevant to us locals in a place called the North West because a lot of us know someone working at that hospital.

SouthLondonDaddy · 15/03/2020 22:36

"Apparently in Italy the police have been arresting anyone without a valid reason for being out."

Source?

Fake news are the last thing anyone needs right now. I have friends in Italy who tell me the police can and do stop people to question whether they really should be out in the street, and that there have been many cases of people reported by the police to the judiciary because they didn't have a valid reason, but mass arrests? Unheard of.

todayisnottuesday · 15/03/2020 22:37

The British - not a single independent thought between them

Trust some Brit to get offended by that

I'll just substitute the British in both of those for Irish shall I? That wouldn't be true or acceptable in either case and nor is the shit you have been spouting.

BeijingBikini · 15/03/2020 22:38

Oh stop with the personal insults, if you have to resort to calling someone low IQ then you've lost the debate

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 15/03/2020 22:38

Oh yes. Slavery and coronavirus. Clearly very linked topics.
The link is discussion of legislation.

You can't increase your IQ. It is what it is. High in my case. Low in yours.
Proof to a reputable source please beyond childish name calling. Lets see your exam certs then Turd Grin

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:39

I'm not the one who brought IQ into it.....

todayisnottuesday · 15/03/2020 22:41

Oh stop with the personal insults, if you have to resort to calling someone low IQ then you've lost the debate

Why stop at personal insults when you can insult the whole fucking country in one go like they have been (see my last post)

You can actually raise your IQ btw,

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:41

Wavescrashingonthebeach I doubt you'd be capable of interpreting more than the Daily Mirror. I don't want to stress you.

turdtimelucky · 15/03/2020 22:42

You can actually raise your IQ btw

Clearly hasn't worked in your case.

todayisnottuesday · 15/03/2020 22:44

Oh the irony....

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 15/03/2020 22:47

I'm not the one who brought IQ into it.....

You did when you called people thick.

Stuckupsnob · 15/03/2020 22:56
