@hurryupautumn my sons school is the same. Still pretty sure I’ll get a scathing reply when I let the school know tomorrow he’s not coming to school as he’s got a temp! Hope your LO feels better soon xx

ohmysoul · 15/03/2020 19:18

Not just tomorrow. All week, in the house until next Sunday.

julybaby32 · 15/03/2020 19:18

No. Do not send a child to school with a temperature, especially at the moment.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 15/03/2020 19:19

This is why this 7 day isolation thing isn’t going to work Hmm

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:20

@KeysDontBelongInTheFridge - thanks so much, just wasn't sure. But I'll keep her off of course xx

@Knowhowufeel2 the NHS guidelines published online.

SharkasticBitch · 15/03/2020 19:20

I was just asking some advice. Ill keep her off tomorrow.

You must keep her off for 7 days. That means the earliest she can go back to school is 23rd March.

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:21

@SharkasticBitch - will do.

SharkasticBitch · 15/03/2020 19:21

I don't read or watch the news so I'm not really up to date with what's going on.

You need to. Right now it is irresponsible not to at least keep up to date with the UK guidelines.

confusedandtired99 · 15/03/2020 19:22

You don’t just keep her off tomorrow @hurryupautumn you’ve got to keep her off and at home isolated for 7 day’s

SeaViewBliss · 15/03/2020 19:22

I do think the guidance should be amended to say ‘even if you are otherwise well’ or ‘even if you don’t believe you have covid 19’

I think threads like this clearly demonstrate that we need more public service broadcasts on TV and all social media platforms.

Dontrainonmyparade · 15/03/2020 19:22

Omg. How many people like the OP are out there? No wonder it spreads like wildfire.

Mumsnet needs a banging head against brick wall emoji for these threads.

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:23

@Ginfordinner I'm not on any social media. I just wasn't sure, but anyway. I know now!

Having a go at the OP and accusing her of being a troll is not exactly helpful.

Advice changes regularly as the situation progresses about who is supposed to isolate themselves.

It's a GOOD thing for people to feel comfortable asking for clarification, even if it seems like a daft question.
If people feel under attack then they wont ask, and are more likely to make a poor decision.

Elouera · 15/03/2020 19:23

OP- At what temperate would you keep your child home normally??? Or do you just send them to school anyway? Confused

ACoupleofPeaches · 15/03/2020 19:23

I think threads like this clearly demonstrate that we need more public service broadcasts on TV and all social media platforms.

Totally agree.

🙈
@hurryupautumn have you taken the temp of everyone in your house? You could ALL have it. Then you all stay in for 7 days!!

@Elouera - well 38.2 is the highest it's been, it was down at 36.5 this afternoon. It's been up and down.

OP posts:
Hoggleludo · 15/03/2020 19:24

You actually must self isolate for 7 days! Don't go outside your house. For the next 7 days!!!!

SomeoneElseEntirelyNow · 15/03/2020 19:24

Advice changes regularly as the situation progresses about who is supposed to isolate themselves.

So she should be looking at the official guidelines, rather than asking randoms on a forum!

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:25

@Orchidflower1 - it's just me and DD, mine is normal.
