You need to ask?

Ivebeentohellanditscalledikea · 15/03/2020 21:07

This is a line from my children's school sent out on Friday in a letter that also threatened to fine people keeping them off so I can see why people are getting mixed messages. Plus the fact they aren't testing anymore.

@Ivebeentohellanditscalledikea and I've just had a text message from GP saying do not come near the surgery - which I wasn't going to anyway before everyone starts.

Why is everyone so mean? Well done for asking the question. Now you have reassurance in what to do. I thought this was for help and support.

Mammyloveswine · 15/03/2020 21:10

Ffs what is the point of issuing guidance if no one bothers to read it or stick to it!

Fwiw I'll be grilling parents on my classroom door tomorrow and sending home anyone with a temp.

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 21:10

@TwinkleMerrick - thanks I have had good advice on here before, I post on a whim. Will think.twice next time!

@Ziggy

You haven't failed to protect your son. It's a virus. You've got no chance really if stopping it

Don't beat yourself up lovely x

@Missarad it does effect kids.

Don't be so naive. And don't send your kids in school unwell! It's people like you.

The ones who doses themselves up before leaving China. Jesus wept.

@bikinibottommuffintop I'm going to call her school in the morning. I'm sure the headmistress won't spew the abuse I've had on here at me for asking a question.

Evening, everyone. We just wanted to stick our heads in here to say that we've had some reports of troll hunting here. We've already had a look behind the scenes and can confirm that the OP has been around a number of years and has always seemed to us to be genuine, so we don't have too many concerns.

If you do have worries about anything on a thread please always drop us a line rather than troll hunt on threads - it never ends well. Thank you!

ThanosSavedMe · 15/03/2020 21:24

I don’t think people are being mean, people are astounded that some one has asked that question, when everything, everywhere is saying if you have a temperature or a cough - self isolate. That whole countries have been put into lockdown and there is a very big risk that many people are going to die.

The advice is there in black and white all over the sodding place but people are still saying can I do this or can I do that if I’ve got a temperature/ cough? No of course you bloody can’t. And I don’t think it’s because the advice isn’t clear. Educate yourself, think.

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 21:32

@HebeMumsnet - thanks. I'm definitely not a troll.

Despite nearly 300 responses on this thread telling you not to be so stupid?

The Headmistress will probably be polite, but will doubtless think you're an ill-informed idiot if you ask the same question you've asked here.

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 21:35

@UnaCorda - not everyone is a bitter and nasty as people like you. Don't judge everyone on you're own low standards.

Even without the threat of corona virus NO!

ShootEmUpSarsaparilla · 15/03/2020 22:20

So.... regardless of whether she has CV or not, you need to ask her headmistress whether or not you should send your unwell child to school? Really?! This is disturbing.

Mittens030869 · 15/03/2020 22:42

Some people are being unnecessarily judgemental IMO. I'm actually ill at the moment with what almost certainly is COVID-19 (they no longer test it), so I was shocked that she had to ask, and I can understand why some posters are angry, but, at the end of the day, she didn't just send her DD in, she asked and took on board what the answers were.
