Is this some sort of fucking joke?!

SheldonSaysSo1 · 15/03/2020 19:02

It is very clear, a cough or fever over 37.8 and you must self isolate for 7 days

MajesticWhine · 15/03/2020 19:02

No. The advice is clear. There is no need for people to wonder what the cause of the temperature / cough is. If you have one, you stay at home.

bloodywhitecat · 15/03/2020 19:02

No, you need to isolate for new continuous cough and/or high temperature. 38.2 is a high temp

JellyBelly78 · 15/03/2020 19:03

There’s no hope for us with questions like this 😩

forkfun · 15/03/2020 19:03

Of course! And tell her to shake everyone's hand while she's there.

Jesus wept.

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:03

She hasn't got a cough. Was just asking! Thanks all ☺️

Government guidelines say if it’s a persistent cough or a temperature over 37.8 you should self isolate so she shouldn’t be going to school.

DustyMaiden · 15/03/2020 19:03

I would not send a child to school with a high temperature on a normal day.

Splitsunrise · 15/03/2020 19:04

Genuine question - why is it you think the guidelines wouldn't apply to you?

Splitsunrise · 15/03/2020 19:04

It's cough OR high temperature

alexdgr8 · 15/03/2020 19:04

if this is one of those weekend/half term/long vac bored teenager posts,
this is really not the time.
pleaze.
this is a life and death situation the country, the world, is facing.
please dont be silly.
people have such a lot to cope with. dont try and scam them, waste their time, for pity's sake.

opalescent · 15/03/2020 19:05

Are you being serious?

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:05

Oh come on no need for the snarky comments.

This is new for everyone she's fine in herself and had no cough - I was just asking!

OP posts:
mymymymycorona · 15/03/2020 19:05

Well you might as well OP Because most ppl in the U.K. seem to be on another planet completely so what's one more eh??!!Confused

Squiz81 · 15/03/2020 19:06

Can't believe you need to ask this. Of course no, you need to self isolate too.

Ginfordinner · 15/03/2020 19:06

Blimey. Are people this stupid?

Even without a corona virus scare I wouldn't have sent DD to school with a temperature.

Are you a troll?

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:06

@alexdgr8 - don't know what you're on about.

SomeoneElseEntirelyNow · 15/03/2020 19:06

Were you for some reason incapable of reading the guidelines? It clearly says high temperature = isolate. I fucking despair.

Seriously?????

hurryupautumn · 15/03/2020 19:07

@Ginfordinner oh my god no!!! I was just asking a question! She's absolutely fine in herself! I really wasn't sure!

TotesGodsWill · 15/03/2020 19:08

With people so incapable of reading and following basic guidelines we really have no hope. And half of those who can read them will thing they don’t apply to them anyway.

Extremely well publicised guidelines say isolate for 7 days for a fever OR new cough. She has a fever. So should be isolated. Not complicated in the slightest!

Yes it probably is a normal virus rather than covid19. But the guidelines are there for a reason so should be followed.

SirVixofVixHall · 15/03/2020 19:09

Who sends a sick child into school, even without factoring in CV ?
Completely crazy to do it now.

SinkGirl · 15/03/2020 19:09

Did you think the guidance was to isolate if you have a temp and a cough?

You need to isolate for either a temp or a cough, or both together.
