Dog walking is allowed. Sánchez mentioned it.

So is going to the hairdresser...priorities... Hmm

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 21:38

@MissMoiselle 😂 guess that shampoo is going to good use then.

@Ofitck sounds lovely, honestly I. Don’t know I think we’re meant to stay home but they don’t seem to be enforcing it but I’d be worried about possibly being fined.

Measures come into effect on Monday morning. Did you see Sánchez's speech?

Novia · 14/03/2020 21:43

@oftick - they say here you will be fined if you are out without a good reason. We dont have a dog so no excuse to go to the giant national park behind us sadly. We are going tomorrow as it's the last day we are allowed to walk there for a while. Seems a bit silly to me, as you said - miles and miles without a soul... I think if you can keep a good distance and you are outdoors they should let you. But I guess people take advantage and it becomes a party...

Novia · 14/03/2020 21:45

Welcome @potsofpebbles - I think 2 weeks is optimistic too... sadly.

MissMoiselle · 14/03/2020 21:48

@Nameisthegame ha! I thought the same thing when I read that! Grin she must be sitting at home, cajoling all 20 bottles

Novia · 14/03/2020 21:49

@Nameisthegame - yes, we are lucky with the house as we have a lovely terrace at the front overlooking the mountains. And we can watch the kids playing in the communal park/play area without getting up! 😂 We are outside central Madrid so it's much more rural and spread out. I do love it here, it's a beautiful place to live.

@meuca my Spanish is pants,I meant more I don’t think were meant to go out at all except for the pharmacy/work or doctors etc but I think you have to justify it?

DH just took the dog out and said it was seriously freaky Confused just police and the odd street cleaning lorry. We're on the top floor of flats, no garden for the dog.

I've just opened the limoncello as I'm starting to freak a bit Sad

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 21:55

Me,mum and kid are going for a good walk tomorrow who knows when we can take another one, I have no justification for leaving the house and toddlers don’t like shopping! There’s a park on the way t to all shops so meltdowns will happen.

The measures announced in the speech come into effect on Monday morning. Don't waste your time with Guardian articles written hours before the speech. Look at the English versions of Spanish newspapers if you haven't yet learned the language; they'll be far more up to date.

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 21:56

@Novia that sounds lovely I wanted to live more inland due to prices etc but my ex wanted to be closer to the sea. Pointless really we never went and ended up broke.

Also wondering what's happened to the homeless people we often see in the city centre...

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 21:59

Is the fine 500-2000 euros?

OP posts:
meuca · 14/03/2020 22:09

He didn't specify anything about fines. It's complicated because in theory each autonomous community has some control there (for example, here in Catalunya there have been threats of fines of to up 60.000€ for breaking the confinement zone around Igualada), but Sánchez is effectively suspending powers from the autonomous communities. I'm sure details will be clarified tomorrow.

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 22:13

No it doesn’t it’s just been Posted around Facebook expats groups. My worry is I’m still working at refurbishing and decorating my restaurant with most deliveries going there hopefully that counts as work as I would have to open as soon as this is over.
