They’ve shut all the play parks 😫 I’ve had to tell my 3 year old that the parks are sick and that’s why they were shut.

@BillieEilish noooo! That would drive me crazy no one wants to be near a opera singer at home! Threaten to cough on here door handle everyday. I don’t mind the elderly fleeing to their country side homes and staying there but going to towns on the coast is so selfish.

Does anyone know if everyone isn’t meant to go out?

Looks like you're only supposed to go out if its absolutely essential i.e. going to work (if you can't work from home), doctor, bank, helping the elderly, force majeure.

I'm in Seville, all the shops are shut and even the public parks are closed! Semana Santa has definitely been cancelled, the hit to the local economy is going to be huge.

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 14:22

The supermarkets are closed?

Supermarkets and pharmacies will stay open, and I also saw on the news that electronics stores can open (I suppose in case people need equipment to work from home?)

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 14:36

Okay just double checking as I thought supermarkets would stay open

I'm in Seville too, well..near. Cancelling semana santa is massive. I think Feria will be psotponed too, there's been talk of that. I do think it's the right thing to do though.
The lockdown says people should only go out to work, buy food or to the pharmacy. Otherwise they should stay home. All companies who can let their employees work from home should. DH works in a call centre and at the moment they aren't sending them to work from home, but that may change after today. I work from home anyway.
Cases went up by 1500 yesterday, so I agree this needs to happen.
The state of emergency gives the government powers to ensure supply chains and so on as well as imposing restrictions.

missclimpson · 14/03/2020 14:46

According to my son you can also go out to walk the dog. (They haven't got one).

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 14:50

No idea how to keep my toddler occupied, probably a lot of basement play time and trips to the shop

OP posts:
Sandwichgirl · 14/03/2020 14:54

Missclimpson - I'd be really interested to know where your son has got that info from. My reading of today's decision led me to believe that walking dogs was not possible in public places.

elQuintoConyo · 14/03/2020 14:56

Indoor forts
Picnics on the floor
Lots of baths - fill it with custard! Sensory play Grin
Lots of cutting up magazines to make collages
Make lots of handprint/footprint pictures to send to lucky relatives once this is over.
Lots of Skype!
Lots of art
Turn the living room into an assault course and climb over everything

...it's been a while since I've had a toddler!

Nameisthegame · 14/03/2020 14:57

Haha 😂 wish I had a bath but shower time probably. She was desperate for a picnic today poor thing

My parents are there on holiday. They went just before the travel ban. Very elderly and I'm concerned. Will they be able to get home?

BirdandSparrow · 14/03/2020 15:01

There was a thing about stuff to do with kids if you can't leave the house. I'll see if I can find it.

BirdandSparrow · 14/03/2020 15:05

These should be ideas about things o do at home and a link to the new Clan educational tv channels starting from Monday.
