Anyone else in Spain and finding the jump in numbers from yesterday to today shocking? www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/world/coronavirus-maps.html 700 to 1070 in one day.

After rescuing my plants and receiving a massive bolocking from a police officer (would have been home before midnight if not for. Him shouting at me that people are dying and what was I thinking and threatening to fine me 60 euros, worth it with 300 euros worth of plants and 500 worth of power tools) Me and my mum are now firmly stuck in the flat.

I don’t know when this will let up my dd is now asking everyday to go out it’s heartbreaking, or she asks for showers as it’s something different.

I’m now running a Facebook group for artists during lockdown which is at almost 600 members so that’s nice but I sort of dread the next day knowing it’s almost the same but also coming out of lockdown I have so much to do very quickly and I’m worried about the restaurant I don’t know if it will survive now if the vaccine will be next year.

My DD (9) keeps asking for a shower too, it's boredom I think. Glad you got your plants.

Me too, the police officer was the only person I met and he was shouting from his car! Besides the restaurant which has been deep cleaned when we sprayed for pests I haven’t touched anything probably the safest working environment outside the house.

Yeah definitely boredom, if it wasn’t so cold I would set up the padding pool but the weathers suddenly changed to moody.

Dd can’t have a shower everyday because of her eczema her skins areal mess after being inside all this time and she keeps licking the cream off 😂

Spain's sees record death toll, as number of fatalities hits 10,000
Spain’s coronavirus death toll rose to 10,003 on Thursday, up from 9,053 on Wednesday - an increase of 950.

On Tuesday Spain recorded 864 deaths related to coronavirus, the previous highest figure recorded.

Dh felt ill last night, and worse this morning. Not virus related. As the local clinic is closed he had to get a taxi to the nearest hospital. On his own, he doesn't really speak Spanish. We were both so worried as his symptoms could have been something serious ( too much use of Doctor Google!)

Anyway it sounds from his texts that they've been super thorough with him and it's not serious. I'm hoping he'll be back later today. Our first real use of the Spanish health system.

Meanwhile, this corner of Mallorca is still quiet. I'm doing the 3pm Rock Choir sing every day (4pm here). The furthest out I've been is the bins outside the block. Our latest flight booking, next week, got cancelled ( quelle surprise) so we've pushed it on to May 1st. I'm a bit stir crazy but books and music are helping.
I think it's going to be a warmer weekend.

Hi, glad to hear he's OK. I've always found the Spanish health service to be very good, especially the primary care.
I feel better today, the throat isn't bothering me and the headache's eased off. I often get a sore throat that tunrs to nothing if I'm stressed or tired or run down.
They're talking about extending the state of alarm again, but that's no surprise. Lovely weather here. Would be a lovely viernes dolores if semana santa weren't cancelled.

@amigababy glad it all went okay xx I’ve also found the health services pretty good hear. They are most likely to extend it until the 26th maybe that’s why you can’t get a flight.?

We’re pretty stir crazy here too although if it was just me no DD I would be fine Before her I was agrophobic so barely went out anyway but I wouldn’t want to go back to that.

@BirdandSparrow ice had a sore throat for over two weeks but I think that’s more due to stress smoking (gross I know) and shouting at dd she’s figured out how to turn on the kitchen sink now 😬

809 deaths today, that's much lower. Really hope it's a good sign.
Kids are building a den, DH is working today (from his home office in the shed) I'm hoping to persuade DD to watch a film later.
Does anyone have their TV through Orange? Do you know if there are any films free? There were when we had movistar but they all seem to be €2 or €5 on Orange.

Errgh thought that would be the case, but fingers crossed they will start loosening restrictions. I just want to take dd for a walk.
