Got a joke DH was sent earlier.

Plane with 5 passengers on board, Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Angela Merkel, The Pope and a ten year old school boy. The plane is about to crash and there are only 4 parachutes.
Trump said I need one. I’m the smartest man in the USA and am needed to sort out the problems of the World!’, takes one and jumps.
Boris said ‘I’m needed to sort out Britain’. He takes one and jumps.
The Pope said ‘I need one as the world needs the Catholic Church.’ He takes one and jumps.
Angela said to the ten year old: "You can have the last parachute. I've lived my life, yours is only just starting."
The 10 year old replied: "Don’t worry, there are 2 parachutes left, the smartest man in the USA took my school bag."

How is everyone today?

Good. The DC are doing the lesson on tv at the mo. It's dancing at the moment. I think we'll be having some just dance after. They are really good at Animals.

It's weird the number now are
Coronavirus Cases:
42,058
Deaths:
2,991
Recovered:
3,794

but I feel calmer than I did when they were 12,000.

Their teacher is sending daily work via email, so we'll do that after some Superzings battles, then have a game of football in the garden.

How are you today?

elQuintoConyo · 25/03/2020 10:18

We did PE with Joe this morning. It killed me Monday - thighs of fire! So we're doing it 3 days a week. DS collapsed on the sofa with a stick of chorizo, I did 30+ minutes Zumba on youtube, just randomly choosing videos.

DS said of PE with Joe: "he cracked my eggs!" Grin that's going in the elQuinto Lockdown Journal Grin

We have a flexible timetable that dS and I created together, it shows work time, snack time, reading, free time and when he can go on electronics. Monday great, yesterday mostly Lego! Today so far great. As I said, totally flexible but he likes seeing what's next, gives him stability. And, added bonus, he doesn't whinge for the tablet! Result!

He's doing Lego Challenge with four people, including his cousin in the Antipodes. A Lego friend created a 30 Day Drawing Challenge, with other kids too, we started it yesterday. I will keep all the pictures and put them in a little folder for the future.

Otherwise it's work, he's not doing all the set school work (grow a legum/sunflower seed, we don't have any. The other includes taking photos of your house.....erm, no! It's a shit top! Not gonna happen!!). But writing a diary yes, measuring the flat with a 1m2 piece of fabric yes - he liked that a lot!

He's a fairly happy chump. We don't have TV news on, or radio, we barely talk about C19 in front of him so there's nothing making him anxious.

I get him to help cook - stir porridge, chop a tomato, measure pasta rations, nothing instagram-worthy!

I'm in Catalunya and apparently this is the worst-hit area Shock although no cases of abandoned elderly in their care homes - that's truly upset me SadAngry how utterly terrible.

DH is flat out, so I'm the cleaner, entertainer, cook and bottle washer! Then I work! DH has mostly been dog walking and chief shopper, though.

Today's mission, should I choose to accept it, is to try making a face mask! Wish me luck!

Dh is off today because he's rota'd to work at the weekend. He's still having to go in (call centre) but there are rumours that they'll all be sent to work at home by Friday. They seem to have agreed to give them the computers rather than make the provide them Hmm but the ones already at home say it's a disaster, the server keeps collapsing.

I actually prefer it when he's out, it feels like there are waaay too many people in the house. I've come up to the attic for a bit with the laptop because, although I don't have any work in, I feel like I need to have an hour or two at least a day when I think about work and sort out admin and so on.

I went to mercadona today as DH is here so I have the car. Didn't like it at all, quite freaked me out. Queuing to get in, one in, one out, gloves, masks, glass screens at the till. Felt all a bit real and spooky.

BirdandSparrow · 25/03/2020 11:56

Yes to the major thigh burn after PE with Joe. I can barely walk!

Novia · 25/03/2020 14:47

I did the big shop this morning and it made me feel SO much better, just being out of the house and away from the kids was amazing!

It was all very civilised, though weirdly quiet - it was my first trip out of the house in 2 weeks and honestly just going around Aldi has given me a new lease of life! They did hand sanitizer and gloves at the door and it was fully stocked, even fresh milk and hand wash! I stretched it out and also went to the pet shop for guinea pig hay which we are nearly out of.

The small human interactions really lifted my spirits, just a wave and a smile made me feel human again. I'm in a better mood than I have been in days!

Novia · 25/03/2020 14:51

Kids have been really good, except for occasional squabbles and constant questions. 4 year old DD still asks where we are going today every morning! We are about a week behind on eldests school work as we didn't bother much last week! So now she's slightly playing catch up! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Piggies are still very spoilt and starting to interact a bit more with us.

At least the weather is better today. I am listening to my 'all company call' on the balcony with a thermos cup of Cava while the kids have their online Hip Hop class! 😂

Sending love to you all today! X

BirdandSparrow · 25/03/2020 18:42

The call centre has sent DH to work from home. He's set it all up, starts tomorrow. DS' birthday tomorrow so we are having a day off schoolwork.

PotsOfPebbles · 25/03/2020 18:46

That's good. Things are rocketing here so better to be home.

Have you got anything planned for tomorrow?

BirdandSparrow · 25/03/2020 18:57

Dh has to work 930 to 730 with a two hour break, so mostly it'll just be the 2 of us (DD, DS and me). We're going to do whatever DS fancies really, which will probably mean lots of tablet, tv and some PS4 quietly (cos it's in the room DH will be doing his call centre stuff from). I've got a acket of microwave popcorn in the cupboard somewhere so I've suggested renting a film on our Orange tv. The reason I went to Mercadona today was to get a cake. Sent him photos and he choose tarta bombom, which looks a bit like a death by chocolate.
I got another little translation from the same agency (they usually send me quite a bit) was only €25 but it cheered me up as i?d just worked out that I won't be eligible for any help as an autonoma as my invoicing won't be down 75% in March. Basically because the first 2 weeks were normal.

BirdandSparrow · 25/03/2020 19:34

Just seen this, gonna read it later when kids have gone to bed www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/25/how-spain-sat-on-its-hands-as-coronavirus-took-hold

Novia · 25/03/2020 20:22

@BirdandSparrow - I'm so sorry you won't be liable for help as an autónomo, that's gutting. Sending you good luck vibes for getting more freelance work in.

Your plan for tomorrow sounds great - can I come?! Hope your DH finds wfh okay, it can be an adjustment, especially with kids around!

nobeer · 26/03/2020 11:07

Thanks for those links Bird. DH has been pretty much been saying the same the last few days 😢 It's going to be a tough few years after we get over Covid-19. As if the country hasn't suffered enough with la crisis.
