@PotsOfPebbles aww that’s so nice! Kids can be so sweet

I’m starting to freak out that I’m sick. It’s just a constant worry.

BirdandSparrow · 18/03/2020 21:19

I think he might be the youngest with previous conditions, there was a 21 year old football coach but he had underlying health issues.

So sad and worrying.

PotsOfPebbles · 18/03/2020 22:14

I'm not sure I buy the blanket 'underlying health conditions'. Someone said on another thread, this could be some very simple things like being a smoker (I'm not talking about a heavy smoker) or asthma as a kid or not being the perfect weight (I'm not talking about overweight/obese).
I'm sure there is a lot of that, but everybody?
It was suggested that it's being said to stop panic that anybody could be a serious case.

Novia · 18/03/2020 22:19

@PotsOfPebbles - of course, they are such a bright spot in our day I'm very happy to share with your kids too!

@Nameisthegame - it's perfectly natural to be scared, I also feel like I'm skating on the top of hysteria at certain parts of the day.

I know what you mean about looking at the kids and just wanting the world to be perfect for them. I'm far more frightened for them, especially at the prospect of a societal breakdown as a result of this. I'm just trying not to catastophise.

I think today has been the worst because the UK has finally woken up and taken action. So my Facebook and group chats are suddenly full of panic, and it's infectious.

I also can't bear to hear stories of people being in need when there is very little I can do to help. I find it really upsetting. 😢

Novia · 18/03/2020 22:27

The daily positive is a great idea though!

Mine is: watching my eldest DD do her usually weekly Hip Hop class over Skype - she really gave it her all! ❤️

PotsOfPebbles · 18/03/2020 22:35

Thanks Novia :) I'll show them tomorrow.

Nameisthegame It's definitely normal to have times of fear. Yesterday I was like that. I think it was because we hit 12 thousand, and that's when it all went crazy in Italy, that number seemed so overwhelming huge. I barely slept. My mind was in a chaotic state all day.
I feel better today, which is weird because the numbers are getting ever higher, but I do.
I really hope you feel better tomorrow x

It's a sunny day in Mallorca at last after 3 very grey days.
Yesterday afternoon Ryanair cancelled our return flight. No email, I just looked on the app and it had gone. We have changed it to the 28th. And also booked a Jet2 flight for the 27th. Realistically neither of them is going actually fly. But it's keeping us in the mix with the airlines.

We did a ton of cleaning. Spoke to DD and dFIL in the UK. DD is definite that we are better off here anyway, she's not happy about how the UK is going.
Bizarrely our 2 plumbers arrived and fitted a shower screen we'd ordered. Makes sense for them, so they'll get paid. But odd seeing them arrive together in their little van. And we saw a couple of people down by the pool, one lady jogging laps around it. Don't think it's permitted but hey ho!

I had awful backache yesterday - tension, lack of sleep and lack of exercise. Must do some yoga today. I've got amitriptyline in the UK but none here. I had a red wine instead. Smile In my head I'm not stressed but my body is telling me otherwise.

Hopefully today will be better.

My back aches too
I think I’ve been over doing it. I’m going to take dd to the restaurant to water the plants 🌱 And bring back her chalk board. It’s meant to rain at 3ish so get some cloudy sun in us. Wish me luck !

@amigababy I’m inclined to agree but I understand why you want to go home, just stay safe.

Nameisthegame · 19/03/2020 09:20

@BirdandSparrow I drafted a letter to the landlady of the restaurant asking for a rent relief I will not be pleased if she doesn’t give it I’ve already paid a hell of a lot of money.

Yesterday we had a guy from the cable come from two floors down to check their tv connection almost didn’t let him in. He was pretty good didn’t touch anything but the door and port which we cleaned after.

Italy has shocking numbers at nearly 40k. The uk needs to fall in line soon before we come out of lockdown I don’t see how Europe could possibly let them back in the country without doing it.

PotsOfPebbles · 19/03/2020 12:23

Latest numbers from Spain

Coronavirus Cases:
17,147
Deaths:
767
Recovered:
1,107

Thank you for the photos Novia :)

BirdandSparrow · 19/03/2020 12:25

I saw something about France banning entry to Britons if the UK doesn't enact quarantine measures.

The Spanish numbers are scary, but I understand that it takes a couple of weeks even after lockdown to see a drop in numbers.

Weird mix of huge anxiety about income (no work in and I'm autonoma) and feeling claustrophobic and bored.

PotsOfPebbles · 19/03/2020 13:08

Novia DD just drew this for you to say thanks for the photos
