Who’s carrying on as normal re summer holidays?

My dh, who is usually very un-bothered by pretty much anything, doesn’t want to book a foreign holiday for summer as he thinks it’s silly in the current situation re coronavirus. I’m not too bothered so long as we go away so agreed to book a UK holiday and wait and see and possibly book a last minute foreign holiday if things have changed in July/august.

Went online yesterday and was shocked at how very few places are left at our chosen UK destination. We go here every year anyway and there are usually lots of options available at this time.

I can only surmise that people feel the same as us and aren’t willing to risk booking foreign holidays so everywhere is getting snapped up quickly.
Have you changed your usual plans to holiday in UK this year or do you think it’s all a bit ridiculous and intend to carry on as usual going abroad?
YANBU - staying in UK
YABU - going abroad as usual

I’m booking a holiday cottage on the Yorkshire coast. It minimises the risk of catching anything nasty as I will control my surroundings and travel.
I really do not want to be quarantined in a bloody hotel or apartment anywhere. Hell on earth.
Stuck in a room with my DH and 2 teenagers.

Looking forward to the museums, attractions, beaches and countryside. Hot tub and bbqs.

I have a suspicion our summer holiday airline (Norwegian to New York) is going to go under - I'd heard good things about them and booked at the start of the year, and immediately afterwards had more than one person tell me they'd been rumoured to be going under for years, so I suspect Covid 19 might be the final nail in the coffin. Just hoping that people will hold off booking and other airlines might have good offers. I've booked on Barclaycard as usual at least, so should be able to get all the money back, which worked fine last time I booked with an airline that shut down afterwards.

We are booked with Norweigan in the summer as well to New York. I am hoping they don't go under. We booked on a credit card as well.

I won't be travelling to the USA anyway unless they get it under control.

Also there are talks about how several other lower cost airlines could collapse. Unless I travel a long way, we can only use these kind of airlines to fly out with. So I worry we could book any the airline could collapse.
Too much uncertainty at the moment around.

We are unsure what to do about our trip to California in May. I was all set to go but having second thoughts given the profession this week. Got 3 weeks to decide to minimise the financial impact. I feel really sad at the thought of not going though.

We were waiting for our sons school place before booking our holiday as different schools had different holiday dates - I’m holding off for a week or two now ... we kept changing our mind on UK or abroad anyway ... I’m even more undecided now

We have Portugal booked for September - anything could have happened by then - hopefully we'll all still be here and the virus will have died down.

UK breaks booked for Easter and July to countryside/ less busy seaside resort so hopefully will be Ok.

Have not gone ahead with booking a planned short break with my friend - have got the time off work and will see what seems less risky option nearer the time.

DS has a booked week to Spain just after Easter - they are staying at a friend's villa and planning gloves / mask for the airport / flight.

Off to the alps skiing end of March and Iceland horse riding in July - no plans to change itinerary unless FO advise against travel to either .
