This video from lovely Dr John Campbell, is very informative and in part reassuring he has suggested a lower CFR of 1% based on the figures he is constantly analysing

That's a jump I wasn't expecting I thought another 1 not 3.
I'm a course next week something I've waited a long time to do, it'll change my career in a really good way and I'm so hoping it goes ahead 😔 it's going to last nearly 4 weeks

With regards to the shocking account from the young chinese male. I remember initially we were saying that the Chinese/Asian population are more prone to this (due to certain receptors they have for the disease) and therefore they also may get more complications from the disease?

I keep hearing repeatedly that for most people under 60 this will be like a mild cold. It really doesn’t sound like that to me.

The initial Italy super spreader was a 33 year old marathon runner. He went on to develop pneumonia.

meredithgrey1 · 29/02/2020 14:08

Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire

Where do you get info about the locations? If this is correct it doesn't sound like the Surrey GP is confirmed?

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:08

The GP was from a different county wasn't he? I think these are 3 totally new cases.
At least they are saying the county now.

Wehttam · 29/02/2020 14:08

Test the negatives again in a few days.....

WaterSheep · 29/02/2020 14:08

That's a jump I wasn't expecting I thought another 1 not 3.

For me it's the opposite. I expected more than 3 new cases.

NaturalBornWoman · 29/02/2020 14:09

What about Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire?

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:09

#Pakistan now has 4 cases or #coronavirus. All 4 linked to #Iran

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:10

That's where the new cases are

NettleTea · 29/02/2020 14:10

My daughter is due to go to her cystic fibrosis check up clinic on the 12th. Its a 2.5 hr journey on public transport each way, luckily the CF clinic is in a seperate building to the main Kings college hospital site, but she will need to enter that if she hopes to get her travel repaid.
at the moment I think there is a good chance of her missing it although she already has a chest infection and is near the point of being admitted.

WaterSheep · 29/02/2020 14:10

If this is correct it doesn't sound like the Surrey GP is confirmed?

I'm also confused by this. Seems odd to be contact tracing for the GP if he's not a confirmed case. Unless they're expecting him to become positive, and the tests just aren't showing it yet.

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:11

The statement from the department of health confirmed these locations on the image they uploaded

MargotB7 · 29/02/2020 14:11

It will affect the business I work for when it gets worse. Feel more worried about that.

NaturalBornWoman · 29/02/2020 14:11

Where is that info from?

Plantherd · 29/02/2020 14:13

Have I understood correctly that they won't know publish positive until 2pm each day and that will only include results until 9am the same day. So any positives after say 9am today wont be released until 2pm tomorrow?

PotholeParadise · 29/02/2020 14:14

I've developed a dry cough (no fever) but I haven't been to a currently officially classified area, so 111 symptom checker isn't interested. However, I have been on a lot of public transport the week after half-term in that area, and loads of people might have been skiing in Italy before that.

Going on PHE's previous response to Italy, I imagine that the area where I was or areas near to where I was will get added to the official list of high-risk areas on in 3-4 days times, after it's too late to stop the spread. I'll try to self-isolate as much as I can when I am not officially entitled to keep the kids off school to save other people's health. Hmm

WhentheDealGoesDown · 29/02/2020 14:14

Berkshire is next to Surrey and people commute so maybe that is it

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:14

Natural the department of health. It's on their twitter and Facebook

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:14

Ah, so it could still be the GP but his home county.

WaterSheep · 29/02/2020 14:16

Have I understood correctly that they won't know publish positive until 2pm each day and that will only include results until 9am the same day. So any positives after say 9am today wont be released until 2pm tomorrow?

It certainly seems like that's the plan going forward.

We also plan to announce future confirmed cases in England as part of the 2pm figures, rather than separately.

This is to make sure you get the latest information at the same time each day.

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:16

@NettleTea have you checked to see if she is entitled to ambulance transport? We used to get it for my son as he had to travel the same distance on the train. A guy in a taxi used to take us.

meredithgrey1 · 29/02/2020 14:17

Ah, so it could still be the GP but his home county.

All three of the new cases had recently come from abroad though (two from Italy and one from Asia) and I think the guardian said the GP hadn't travelled?

ofwarren · 29/02/2020 14:18

Yes that's true Meredith. The mystery of the GP remains!

MargotB7 · 29/02/2020 14:19
