Ireland - wearing black armbands for a game near October 7th?

So the Irish football team thought it would be some sort of protest to wear black armbands for their recent mat h against Israel and guess what strangely the Israeli team wore black armbands for the victims of the worst terrorist atrocity in their country. So the Irish were left wearing black armbands for victims of the Israeli Gaza conflict but I guess not the victims of October 7th? No wonder the Israeli players were pissed. Ireland then dress and threw the dummy out the pram by saying they shouldn't be playing Israel again......pretty pathetic.

You can also see how for countries like Ireland October 7th is being erased from history as when they went for their black armband protest they probably very stupidly forgot about the proximity of a day of Israeli national mourning.

I am many things, not all of them good, I'm sure, but if there is one thing I am not it's a hypocrite.

I'm not sure which particular day you are referring to, but if it was immediately post-October 7th I doubt there was a single Israeli who was 'continuing as normal.'

But yes, it was okay. It was totally justified.

Totally justified?!! You are one sick person. Hamas have not even come close to killing the amounts of innocent people that the IDF have but Hamas are classed as the terrorists? You really need to shake yourself.

'And anyone who even thinks about doing anything in support of Gaza and against Israel on October the 7th, not the day before or the day after, but ON THAT DAY'

Appalling isn't it. Demonstrates perfectly the goady and sick mentality of the flag wavers.

Yes, she's from Northern Ireland.

This thread is about an ROI match.

'Classed as terrorists'. Sounds like you don't agree? Murder hundreds in cold blood but ah well that's 'unfortunate' as you said previously.

Isn't it okay to be anti-Ireland then? Aren't you anti-Israel?

Is it only okay for people to be anti the same things as you?

i am anti genocide but you seem to be anti calling out genocide.

Yes I know. But like most threads it has digressed a bit.

We can call it the mass murderer of innocent people if it makes you feel better

I know what the definition of murder is as well. Keep trying.

So you 'called out' the genocide of the Rohingyas, the Uyghurs and the current genocide in Sudan? If I search will I find a load of irish people voicing their support and 'solidarity' for those actual genocides?

If not you need to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself what is it about this one conflcit that specifically makes you want to 'call it out'. We know though don't we?

Neverblackcurrant · Yesterday 16:02

Apparently not @Gloriia. Though people have tried tell you, you don’t want to listen 😕

All the people you mentioned have been helped by Irish people and Irish government aid.

So one fan group at a medium sized gig? And you think they represent a country and culture? Christ, go look at British people abroad at football matches and be really grateful that most people have better critical thinking than you do. And by the way kneecap are not Irish, they are British. So I guess that makes you a Hamas supporter (applying your logic, of course)

Everywhere I look there is widespread Irish support for horrific acts of antisemitism.

Just look at the Irish nutter arrested in France for threatening to ‘put a bullet in the head’ of a Jewish woman and saying Hitler should’ve finished the job. Hundreds/thousands of likes and ‘so proud of my countryman 🇮🇪’ ’us Irish don’t tolerate genocide’ type comments. Disgraceful.

I didn't ask if the government had helped I asked as you said you like to 'call out genocide' if you had posted repeatedly about actual genocides like the one happening in Sudan. If not why not?

As I said we all have social media and I haven't seen any 'calling out' from irish people about other conflicts. Such very selective outrage.

God that was awful, grinning away like a pyscho then hissing about Hitler and bullets. I'm sure all the irish on here will say they were appalled.

Kneecap are British???? I’ve heard it all now. Do you often live in your own head making things up as you see fit?

Edited

OK we know you don’t care about the deaths of Israelis but you do know that Hamas also terrorise Palestinians?
And use them as human shields in a war they triggered?

I know, I’m… amazed at the selective nationality going on when a narrative needs to be developed.

I came on to this thread because people were posting hateful things about Ireland. I’m not the one repeatedly posting the same thing over and over. Do you ask people who post about other genocides why they are doing it?
