Conflict in the Middle East

Is the green party starting to regret it's association with Islamists?

The green party, ostensibly about climate protection and general progressive values seems to have gotten into bed with Islamist sympathisers and the amount of anti semitism and basic hatred of their own country is now obvious.

The green party now at least locally are known as a party that has sympathies towards all manner of Islamist causes including Hamas's objective to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth.

Wouldn't be surprised if they produce a motion declaring climate change a Jewish conspiracy........

Jews were expelled from Arab countries in the early 20th century. Surely you know that?

That was because of false flag attacks by Mossad apparently.

Seriously, you're wasting your time.

OpheliaWasntMad · 21/10/2026 23:12

Absolutely NO ONE cared that the Jews were expelled from those countries. Of course it’s shit for the Palestinians who live in Gaza. But it wouldn’t be as shit if Hamas didn’t exist. I firmly believe that without Hamas the liberal wing of Jewish society would have fought ( peacefully ) alongside Palestinians for their rights. And that would have been a great and beautiful victory for real people.
But extreme Islamists are dangerous and they never allow a liberal wing that will empathise with the outsider.

I’m with the Jews who have historically always allowed different opinions within their community ( without beheadings ) and have not chosen to terrorise the west ( even though we perpetrated a Holocaust upon them) .
I’m with the Jews. They are brilliant.

Not all of them obviously . That was hyperbole.

FFS, yes they were. This has been questioned and answered a hundred times. It was unfair but the reality is that people like Yusef Shlaim would have lived out his life as a wealthy and respected Baghdadi Jew eating Masgouf on the banks of the river Tigris every Friday until he was forced to abandon his life to become an oriental Jew in a strange land and expected to do manual labour because leaders of the Haganah, Irgun and Lehi thought that kind of work was beneath them.

King David Hotel, Sergeants affair, Lord Moyne and the worst of all, Folke Bernadotte who saved thousands from the holocaust. That is just a few.

And … that all helps me to understand why Jewish people want their own land. Even if it is a land that is surrounded by hostile groups and terrorists. It’s existential for them. Muslims have lots of countries.
Im with the Jews.

Yep. And October 7th was apparently mostly due to the Hannibal Directive.

Why would someone lie about being Israeli? Do you have any evidence?

No. Queen Gertrude didn't either but I thought she would like the Hamlet connection.

Okay. I'm up for a more intellectual debate. Are you? By the way, what does tilty-head mean? Never heard that before.

“Every time you claim to have no connection to Israel I don't why but I'm reminded of Gertrude from Hamlet”
Really? How funny . I have no connection to Israel or Judaism (or Denmark.)
Im a practicing Catholic of Irish heritage.
I support Israel but I loathe the settler mentality and Netanyahu. I feel the Palestinians have been used as pawns by Iran and Hamas.

Ha ha. It wasn't hard. When they try to defend the indefensible, it's never going to work. The coordinated attacks are interesting though. I think it's called a brigade.

For someone who has no connection to Israel, your support seems very intense. Especially as a Catholic with Irish heritage. I understand people like Mosab Yousef. He is dealing with inner demons which a psychiatrist could spend years trying to fix. But why on earth would you, who claims to have no connection to any of this, support what Israel is doing to the Palestinians.

Christ, you'd think you'd been at fucking Stalingrad. Have a medal. 🏅

I’ve only ever posted on here to object to antisemitism in the Uk and to make the point that the current conflict was started by Hamas .

But it’s funny you say that I have no connection to Israel because a lot of people marching for Pro Pal every week don’t have any connection to Palestine either . I find that quite puzzling - especially in the wake of October 7th.
babies were kidnapped and murdered and women were raped and kept hostages. And all the while Westerners marched for Gaza without mentioning the Bibas babies . Why on earth would they do that?

GENEVA, 16 October 2026 – “In the last two weeks in Gaza, despite an agreed ceasefire, five boys and two girls have been reported killed and at least 33 children seriously injured in air strikes, drone strikes and gunfire across the Strip. Another two boys died of injuries sustained previously.

“And a little over one year on since the ceasefire was announced, more than 340 children have been reported killed and hundreds of others injured.

I don’t know Ophelia. We all want peace but it continues.

I hope it ends too. As all right thinking people do.
But this thread is about the impact of the conflict here in the UK. And I’m not in support of a UK political party being taken over by Islamists and Marxists. And I want UK Jewish citizens to feel as safe and valued as everyone else.
