This is a thread for us to discuss the planned June 26 protest by Gazan Palestinians- the aim of which is to pressure Hamas to honour the ceasefire agreement and allow Gazans self rule.

Brave people who take part.

Watching and wishing them safety and hoping they can suceed.

Surely you’re not suggesting that every single protester on those marches are just there because they are anti-semitic? How would you like them to protest against Hamas? Have you been anywhere near any of these marches? I doubt it, so how exactly do you know what individual people on these marches are protesting about? Or are you just making wild assumptions?

I didn't suggest that every single protestor is anti semitic, nor do I think they are.

But I don't see or hear of any condemnation of Hamas from them. Not on the placards I see them holding, not in the chants. That doesn't necessarily make them anti semitic but maybe turning a blind eye to the harm Hamas do to the Palestinian people. If I'm wrong please feel free to provide evidence of condemnation for Hamas from those on pro Palestinian marches.

The irony of you accusing me of making wild assumptions while making assumptions about me is not lost.

Hope you aren't suggesting that all of Tommy's followers are Christians.

What you said to me on another thread. Despite the crosses, chants of the Lord’s prayer etc.

I haven’t been on a march, so haven’t seen a placard, or heard a chant. However, I wouldn’t assume I’d seen it all. Because I clearly haven’t.

I don't know what the hell you are on about now or why you have bought Tommy Robinson followers into this.

Good night @JadeHare the conversation is too batshit for me.

I've seen the marches.
Full of people calling Israel to ceasefire, stop the genocide, etc.
Never seen or heard a single chant for Hamas to ceasefire, surrender or disarm. Which would also stop the 'genocide'.
It might not be explicit support for Hamas, but it's not exactly condemnation either.
And its the same on here.
Despite the fact that it was October 7 that kicked off this latest round of slaughter and 10's of 1000's would be alive if they had not done it or just surrendered and disarmed immediately.
Still no calls for that from the Pro Pal side- a very odd omission if the most important thing is to save Palestinian life.

Exactly. When it’s mentioned that there’s no condemnation of Hamas the response is always: where have people said they support Hamas?

Obviously not many people in the UK will openly support Hamas because they are a proscribed terrorist organisation. But not to condemn them speaks volumes… as they would say about anyone who fails to condemn the actions of the IDF.

Are we back to disclaimers being required for every post ?

Re protests being pointless. Who knows? It's one of those things that we can't know. Because if there were no protests, would government policy be different ?

Only if we’re back to acting like childish bullies rather than debating like adults.

Missed the point again Alan.

No, we don't require a disclaimer. We are just pointing out the truth that we do not see much condemnation for Hamas on the marches, and we saw plenty of calls for Israel to ceasefire and none for Hamas to surrender, which seems odd given that either Hamas or Israel could have stopped the slaughter at any point.

It's not really a point I wish to discuss over and over. Its just drawing attention to the anomaly. Everyone can draw their own conclusions about why that may be. As I'm sure you already have.
