Doesn’t look like there will be much land left for the Palestinians.

And in other news, from the Guardian:

“Israel’s defence minister has said he is committed to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza through large-scale migration of Palestinians as part of Israel’s long-term plans for the territory.
Israel Katz said the government would implement a plan for large numbers of Palestinians to leave Gaza “at the right time and in the right manner”, in a statement on Wednesday marking the targeted killing of Mohammed Odeh, Hamas’s most recent military commander.
Pushing for mass departures violates Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan for Gaza, which Israel signed last year. The second point of the plan states: “Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”
Israel’s government has promoted the prospect of Gaza without Palestinians since Trump suggested early last year that hundreds of thousands of people should leave to “clean out” the strip for reconstruction.
Last year Israel set up a bureau for “voluntary emigration” and eased travel restrictions for Palestinians who wanted to make a one-way journey out of the strip.
The forced transfer of civilian populations is a war crime and a crime against humanity. Israeli officials, including Katz, use the term “voluntary migration” to describe their ”

As you say
The situation in Gaza is being recognised more

Here’s another way to be heard

Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is running multiple active campaigns and petitions regarding the crisis in Gaza, primarily focused on securing an immediate ceasefire, halting arms sales, and protecting civilians. You can sign these petitions directly on their platforms: 1, 2, 3]

Something we could do

UltraCynica · 16/07/2026 18:38

Thanks @DrPrunesqualer, that a useful list.

I'm going to ask my MP what they are doing to pressurise parliament as well.

Okay. It is not just Israel that wants hegemony in the Middle East. They do, obviously. Which country wouldn’t. Egypt and Jordan decided to make peace with Israel, not for protection from Israel, but from the US. Back in 1986, Joe Biden said “Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interest in the region”. I believe there is normally a huge disparity amongst Israeli society in how to solve the situation with Palestinians. You have awful people like Daniela Weis up to Ben Givr, Smotrich, Karhi and Danon to name just a few who are in my opinion vile. I believe, Israel, when I say Israel, I mean the current Israeli administration, want to dominate the world, not just he Middle East. Unfortunately, recent polls in Israel, have also shown an 80% desire to expel the Palestinians. During times of relative peace, those polls change significantly. So to actually answer your question, I believe the current far right Israeli administration does not only want to consider peace with the Palestinians, they want to totally dominate the entire Middle East and realise the ridiculous concept of Greater Israel and really unfortunately, I think the concept is growing amongst Israeli society as they realise the world is turning against them.

Dominate the world? So what, are they planning on invading Europe? America? Asia? Might find that a bit difficult.

I see that you had my posts deleted. This is a theme on here. Other appalling, racist comments are not reported.
As @MissyB1, criticising the Israeli regime is not antisemetic. It is very disingenous of you to pretend that it is.

Isn't that how all empires started. A small brutal group who murdered their way around the globe. The Romans, the Mongals, etc.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 17/07/2026 07:20

What Empire are you talking about? A piece of land the size of Wales that has had everybody exercised for the last 70 or more years. A sliver of land that is not exclusively occupied by Muslim Arabs who have ethnically cleansed their Christian and Jewish populations over decades.

You got reported for personal attacks. If anyone thinks there are appalling racist comment on here, they can report them.

And I've agreed many times that just criticising the Israeli regime is not antisemitic. Using antisemitic tropes is.

But the conversation has moved on and gone back on track re the thread title. So maybe better not to start another diversion?

As I've said before, I prefer these posts to stand so that people can see who said these things in the future, shocking as they are.

It was you who made up the the anti semitic tropes @Twiglets1.
You decided to extrapolate from what someone had said and made up something that was anti semitic. I challenged you for being disingenous. You are doing so again by accusing me of diverting the thread when that was done by other posters, as I'm sure you know.
More than happy to get back to topic.

It is hugely concerned that the US have chosen to escalate this war rather than stick to the terms of the MOU. Their attacks on infrastructure, and Iran's likely reponse may displace even more millions of people. The whole situation is an utter tragedy.

Yes I'm sure you would prefer personal attacks you made against me and another poster to stand (the 3 that got deleted). You don't seem to see anything wrong in them but unsurprisingly I do.

Unfortunately the trope of Jews controlling the world is not a new one that I just made up, it goes back repeatedly through history.

Now you are diverting the thread again by talking about the US and Iran war on a thread about Gaza and Palestinian displacement. There is a dedicated thread about the Iran peace process which covers the MoU, Iran attacking commercial ships and a desalination plant in Kuwait and the US attacking infrastructure in Iran. Agreed it is probably a war crime to attack desalination plants and power plants and civilian bridges. But this is not the thread to discuss that as other people have indicated they want to stay on track.

https://un-human-rights-palestine.shorthandstories.com/three-reasons-why-settler-violence-is-state-violence/

"the Israeli government has also organized settlers into “Kitat Konenut” units or “Emergency Response Squads” — largely funded and armed by the government, particularly, the Israeli ministries of Defense and National Security, in addition to privately raised funds from all over the world."

I'd like to know who these private funders are.

Will they be prosecutable too for funding the genocide? I do hope so.

Absolute scum.

I’ve noticed on here that every atrocity inflicted on Palestinians is always - at some point, by someone - said to be justified by October 7th - it’s so brutal and intentionally diminishing to their suffering.

There can be no justification for genocide.

Two wrongs cannot make a right.

"There can be no justification for genocide."

When King Hussein of Jordan shelled the refugee camps in Jordan in 1970, as payback for the murder of his father by a Palestinian gunman, about 4,000 Palestinians were killed.
Where was the outrage for that atrocity?
It seems King Hussein got a free pass on that event.

It seems to me that when Muslims kill Muslims that's OK but when Jews kill Muslims everyone loses their minds 🙄

UltraCynica · 18/07/2026 17:47

I'm not posting this video because it really is too horrific to share but this happened yesterday in Gaza.
Reported by independent journalist M.A. Khan

In Gaza today, an Israeli drone struck a crowd of grieving civilians gathered outside the Ahmad Yassin Mosque in the Nuseirat refugee camp. They were waiting to begin a funeral procession for a Palestinian killed in an attack earlier this morning.
Let the sheer cruelty of that sink in: They were bombed while gathered to mourn someone who was just killed by a bomb.
Initial reports from Al-Awda Hospital confirm at least 8 people were killed on the spot, and over 20 others have been left mutilated and wounded near the Nuseirat market. The footage coming out of the area is entirely unwatchable—bodies scattered on the pavement, clothes drenched in fresh blood, and survivors screaming in absolute horror.
This funeral massacre brings the total number of Palestinians slaughtered across Gaza today alone to over 25 people, as residential apartments, civilian gatherings, and popular markets are targeted systematically.
The overall death toll has now crossed a staggering 73,200 people.
We are watching a live-streamed erasure of human life. This isn't "defense." This isn't "collateral damage." It is a blatant, merciless campaign against every living being trapped in the enclave, carried out in total defiance of international humanitarian law.
Silence is a choice. Apathy is complicity. If bombing a funeral procession doesn't make you raise your voice, what will?
Do not look away. Do not let the world bury this truth under political distractions. Share this everywhere. Speak up for Gaza.

Twiglets1 · 18/07/2026 17:58

Palestinian civilians also having to cope with Hamas terrorising them at UN food centres:

Statement by the United Nations Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, and Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov, on the Situation in Gaza

“I strongly condemn the recent obstruction of humanitarian operations in Gaza by the de facto authorities, which endangered humanitarian personnel, intimidated workers delivering lifesaving food assistance and disrupted life-saving humanitarian operations.

Yesterday, humanitarian workers were forced to halt food distributions after armed personnel affiliated with the de facto authorities forcibly entered the Abu Rashid food distribution point in Jabalia, North Gaza. The forces also entered a WFP warehouse and reportedly assaulted two truck drivers who were delivering humanitarian supplies.

These incidents are not isolated. They are completely unacceptable and reflect an increasingly dangerous pattern of intimidation, violence and obstruction, including smuggling attempts, targeting and abusing humanitarian operations. They are placing humanitarian workers at risk, disrupting the delivery of life-saving assistance, and further constraining the ability of humanitarian organizations to operate at a time when civilians across Gaza continue to face immense and pressing humanitarian conditions.

Direct threats to staff, interference with humanitarian supplies, and the shrinking humanitarian operating space continue to jeopardize operational continuity. At the same time, the expansion of areas under Israeli control is further reducing the space available to civilians, making it imperative that humanitarian assistance is able to move safely and reach people in need without interference.

Under international humanitarian law, all parties must respect and protect humanitarian personnel, facilities and relief supplies, and refrain from actions that obstruct humanitarian operations.

I call for an immediate end to all interference with humanitarian operations and to respect their independence, impartiality and neutrality. Civilians, including humanitarian personnel, must always be protected, and rapid, safe and unimpeded passage of impartial humanitarian relief must be facilitated.

The people of Gaza have already endured immense suffering. They cannot be subjected to further delays or disruptions in the delivery of life-saving assistance. I reiterate that humanitarian organizations must be able to carry out their work safely, independently, impartially and without fear of intimidation or violence.”

The Telegraph say of the above that While the UN regularly highlights Israeli infringements, it is normally more reticent in its criticism of Hamas, partly because it relies on the terror group’s co-operation on the ground to carry out its humanitarian work.

However, Dr Alakbarov’s statement indicated an organisation running out of patience.

While it appears that enough food is allowed in to avoid the near-starvation that took place in 2025, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has been criticised for preventing the entry of some medicines and much equipment that could improve the desperate living circumstances of the Gazan population.

Israel says it prevents the entry of so-called “dual-use” items that could be subverted for terrorist purposes, and accuses Hamas of failing to live up to its obligation to disarm under the US president’s 20-point plan.

The terror group’s activity on the ground involves heavy-handed armed raids on operations linked to its smuggling, such as at the Abu Rashid food distribution point last weekend, where, it is believed, one of the merchants was caught failing to share his nefarious profits.

It also appears to comprise outright intimidation of civilians.

One told The Telegraph of an incident on Monday at the Hafsa shelter, close to the Abu Rashid food point, where a group of gunmen affiliated with Hamas were loitering near the centre.

“A number of young men approached them and asked them to move away from the shelter, emphasising that the facility housed displaced women, children and the elderly, and that the presence of armed individuals could put it at risk of being targeted.

“The group left, only to return with greater numbers. They stormed the shelter and opened fire, causing panic and terror among the women and children, and proceeded to arrest several people.”

The source said Hamas then refused to release the captives until they were paid a sum of about £6,000 in compensation for the ammunition they had fired.

Israel attacks Gaza nearly every day
According to an analysis by Al Jazeera,

Israel has attacked Gaza on 252 out of the past 279 days of the ceasefire, ( at that point )

meaning there were only 27 days during which no violent attacks, deaths or injuries were reported.
Despite continuing attacks, the US insists that the “ceasefire” is still holding
