Doesn’t look like there will be much land left for the Palestinians.

And in other news, from the Guardian:

“Israel’s defence minister has said he is committed to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza through large-scale migration of Palestinians as part of Israel’s long-term plans for the territory.
Israel Katz said the government would implement a plan for large numbers of Palestinians to leave Gaza “at the right time and in the right manner”, in a statement on Wednesday marking the targeted killing of Mohammed Odeh, Hamas’s most recent military commander.
Pushing for mass departures violates Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan for Gaza, which Israel signed last year. The second point of the plan states: “Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”
Israel’s government has promoted the prospect of Gaza without Palestinians since Trump suggested early last year that hundreds of thousands of people should leave to “clean out” the strip for reconstruction.
Last year Israel set up a bureau for “voluntary emigration” and eased travel restrictions for Palestinians who wanted to make a one-way journey out of the strip.
The forced transfer of civilian populations is a war crime and a crime against humanity. Israeli officials, including Katz, use the term “voluntary migration” to describe their ”

Why does Iran hate Israel do you think?

The now dead Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for example was a Holocaust denier who passionately hated Israel. He described "Israel as a cancerous tumor" that must be removed, and promised support to all groups that wanted to harm Israel.

Why does Iran have the second biggest Jewish population in the Middle East.

I asked you first: Why does Iran hate Israel do you think?

To the extent that they will fund terrorist groups in other countries to do their dirty work for them in trying to kill as many Jewish people as possible.

The ultra right wing nutters in Israel support an expansionist view of Greater Israel. They want total hegemony in the region by destroying and then dominating all the countries surrounding them. I'm guessing Iran recognized this.

So, you think the hate for Israel is totally down to the behavior of its government rather than the fact that some people are antisemites?

And you think Israel deserves all of the hate it gets, and its not disproportionate at all?

No exceptionalising whatsoever? Or just a little bit?

I do know there are many many people in Israel who are extremely familiar with the realities of antisemitism, well before this latest eruption in violence. Should they also be asking themselves why does everyone hate us?

I mean it almost sounds like you believe the hate is partly justified... I can't believe that is truly the case though?

Do you think Israel means to destroy and dominate Jordan and Egypt?

Destroy?? No. Dominate, yes, but I'm talking about the current administration and I hate to say it but the current Zeitgeist in the country favours it. I understand it but it is wrong.

I can't understand this. How do you think Israel intends to dominate Egypt and Jordan? And Syria? Does Israel intend to dominate and destroy Syria too? In your opinion of course?

Isn't it that Israel has peace treaty with both? Or don't you believe thats the reason there are no attacks on those countries?

Okay. It is not just Israel that wants hegemony in the Middle East. They do, obviously. Which country wouldn’t. Egypt and Jordan decided to make peace with Israel, not for protection from Israel, but from the US. Back in 1986, Joe Biden said “Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interest in the region”. I believe there is normally a huge disparity amongst Israeli society in how to solve the situation with Palestinians. You have awful people like Daniela Weis up to Ben Givr, Smotrich, Karhi and Danon to name just a few who are in my opinion vile. I believe, Israel, when I say Israel, I mean the current Israeli administration, want to dominate the world, not just he Middle East. Unfortunately, recent polls in Israel, have also shown an 80% desire to expel the Palestinians. During times of relative peace, those polls change significantly. So to actually answer your question, I believe the current far right Israeli administration does not only want to consider peace with the Palestinians, they want to totally dominate the entire Middle East and realise the ridiculous concept of Greater Israel and really unfortunately, I think the concept is growing amongst Israeli society as they realise the world is turning against them.

Ok.

I mean, if the current Israeli administration really wants to dominate the entire world then they better get on with it, election set for late October.

I honestly find it really quite difficult to believe that given 2 schools of thought- 1) Israel intends to defend itself strongly from the terrorists that surround it- Hezbollah, Hamas etc... and 2) Israel wishes to dominate the entire world... that anyone would pick the latter.

It's so extreme. It's also sailing close to some pretty unpleasant tropes.

I'm so interested to see how the rhetoric on here about Israel changes if the government changes then.

@Mantanora The current Israeli government wants to dominate the world ... despite they have peace deals with Egypt and Jordan?

Not even just the Middle East - as preposterous as that would be?

The whole world. Jews want to dominate the world ... hmm.

The Myth that Jews Control the World

While antisemitic beliefs, like racism, often include degrading depictions of Jews (such as the Nazi portrayal of Jews as rats or images from the political left that often represent “Zionists” as rats or dogs), they also emphasize conspiracy myths that Jews control the world or are attempting to achieve “world domination.” It is for this reason that Dr. Lipstadt has explained that racists believe they are “punching down” at the “inferior” while antisemites believe they are “punching up” at the all-powerful Jews who are “controlling” the world.

What does "from the river to the sea" and "intifada" spouted so keenly on the demos mean, do you think?

It was a direct quote from @Mantanora at 19.31 yesterday: "the current Israeli administration, want to dominate the world, not just the Middle East"

No one said all Jewish people are in the Israeli administration. But it's an antisemitic trope that Jews want to "dominate the world" and I don't see evidence that the Israeli administration want to, as Mantanora suggested "dominate the world". The whole world, hmm.

UltraCynica · 16/07/2026 08:45

. . . . and we could just as easily say that the American administration want to rule the world, the Russian administration want to rule the world, China's administration want to rule the world. No one bats an eyelid.

Oh, but woe betide anyone that says anything at all negative about the Israeli administration! Woe betide!

They are the top 3 world superpowers and it would be a stretch even to say that they want to dominate the whole world.

Israel is tiny by comparison.

Do you think it is a valid response to kidnap hostages and hold them in tunnels for months at a time, torturing them? None of this has been described as a war crime.

I think hatred for Israel as a whole is down to antisemitism and ignorance. There is a big difference between understandable and justified. I can't stand the current Isaeli administration but that doesn't mean I blame all Israelis for their actions. Problem is, some people will project hatred for the actions of the Israeli government on to all of Israel. It is not justified at all but I can understand why. When that hatred is taken to the extreme, it actually breeds antisemitism which really is vile.
