Doesn’t look like there will be much land left for the Palestinians.

And in other news, from the Guardian:

“Israel’s defence minister has said he is committed to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza through large-scale migration of Palestinians as part of Israel’s long-term plans for the territory.
Israel Katz said the government would implement a plan for large numbers of Palestinians to leave Gaza “at the right time and in the right manner”, in a statement on Wednesday marking the targeted killing of Mohammed Odeh, Hamas’s most recent military commander.
Pushing for mass departures violates Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan for Gaza, which Israel signed last year. The second point of the plan states: “Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”
Israel’s government has promoted the prospect of Gaza without Palestinians since Trump suggested early last year that hundreds of thousands of people should leave to “clean out” the strip for reconstruction.
Last year Israel set up a bureau for “voluntary emigration” and eased travel restrictions for Palestinians who wanted to make a one-way journey out of the strip.
The forced transfer of civilian populations is a war crime and a crime against humanity. Israeli officials, including Katz, use the term “voluntary migration” to describe their ”

‘That's why we are pushed to hate Muslims because they happen to live on the lands Israel wants and to watch and support people killed for land we must believe it's their fault, that's what people like Tommy Robinson are for and why he loves flying the Israel flag.’

@Maudmarple Exactly

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

As is suicidal empathy.

Nearly all the posts, which I have only just looked at, have a racist tone and are spreading mis-information. Funny, those trigger happy posters who regularly accuse others of anti semitism don't seem to have noticed that blatant racism against people from multiple ME countries. Over sight or hypocricy and racism? 🤔

A bit of both I think.

Seems the absolute outrage some posters have about discrimination only applies to one group.
I notice.that pp never returned after accusing me of lying.

It was certainly a weird one last night. Wonder if they will be back….?

How about Israel stop trying to expand Israel and leave Palestine to the Palestinians? There’s a novel idea.

It is devastating that one country has to power to demolish and land grab another country, two countries, counting the extending barrier ground through Lebanon too.
So much for the UN.
Of course I don’t agree with antisemitism, criticism against Israel IDF is not antisemitism but is definitely not helping the rise of antisemitism, the world is done with America and Israel.

Yes. The people yelling "antisemitic" do appear to overlap a lot with the people saying " Islam is the problem" or " all Palestinians are terrorists".

And there is a lot of revisionism going on. The right wing now say they have always been pro Jew, never antisemitic etc. But the left always have.

A small group chat I am in has an ozzie member, and they take a photo of an " The Australian" newspaper story now and then, and we go through it, picking out the "errors", and just factchecking it in general. The articles are usually "Aust has always been pro Jew. It's the Muslims that are the problem". Yeah right.

When did this switch happen ?

Just a few years back, any right wing media with comments would be full of "Jewish owned media", or "Jewish bankers control the world". But now it appears that such things never happened. That the right wing have always been "friends" to Jews. Now the comments are " the left hate Jews".

I was reading an Orwell essay recently. From the late 40's. And he was discussing how casual antisemitism was in the UK. Stuff like in the butcher shop. No meat, ah that's because of the Jews.

But now it appears that never happened.

I agree. Lots of attempts at narrative control, which the Tory leader has conveniently jumped on (and has gained support from some naive people).
The previous Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, a man who actually had steadfast principles, was smeared as being anti semitic. I don't believe he was at all. He simply got on the wrong side of certain people because he was one of the few politicians to actually have principles.

As is suicidal empathy.

As is tribalism and racism, although that is just dangerous, rather than dangerous under certain circumstances.

Perhaps. As you say, the outrage is only when it fits with their narrow view of the world.

Fighting a war???

They dropped massive bombs on tented villages and schools and cafes and used targeted drone strikes on residential buildings. Double tapped medics and shot children.

Israel spews propaganda and you just believe it.

Sorry but it’s you who is falling for propaganda. Like I said, this is a horrible war, and there are deaths. Can I ask you why you aren’t shouting about the fact that Hamas don’t build any kind of bomb shelters for its civilians? Put aside the human shield argument, the fat terrorists are sitting in tunnels and leaving the population of Gaza out in the open?

This is a war you say
yet
Marty was referring to recent attacks on tented areas in Gaza

This isn’t war
this is supposed to be a ceasefire

Are you referring to the war that the US and Israel recently launched on Iran or are you referring to the atrocities/Genocide/deliberate civilian targeting that Israel has been committing in Gaza and Lebanon? These are separate things, although all initiated by Israel, and you seem to be confused in your desperate attempt to justify the actions of Israel.

It has been stated many a time that 20% of the Israeli population are Arabs. Why don't they have bomb shelters in their neighborhoods.

An odd post.

Do you feel as strongly about the Uyghurs and Rohingya?

If not, why not?

This old chestnut. It’s been brought up hundreds of times by Pro Israelis like a kind of gotcha. It’s not.

They need to come up with some new gotchas! These ones are getting very dull and repetitive.

Deflection.

My six year old used to attempt to deploy it.

Let’s cut the crap - the fake empathy for Palestine is merely a weapon to beat the right with. Most of you could not identify Gaza on a map if pressed.

Focus on priorities closer to home.

Might be difficult to find Gaza on a map these days, as most of it is occupied by Israel.

Fake empathy?? You do realise that not everyone is totally heartless and devoid of humanity.
